    Oktoberfest and "mandatory snacks"!
    Kelley G.

Amazing afternoon at Township 7! The owners are super, atmosphere is immaculate and fabulous, and most importantly the beer is fantastic! Deer Fly IPA for my husband and Oktoberfest for me. If you're in the North Country, please stop in and give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

We recently traveled from Buffalo to Potsdam to visit our friends from out of town. Buffalo is known for its microbreweries, so our friends took us to see this brewery that recently opened just outside of Potsdam. The drive took about 20-25 minutes from the SUNY Potsdam area, but the drive was well worth it. The brewery is a little hard to find because it is tucked back behind some trees, but once you see it you'll agree that the building has a lot of character. The building is very rustic and includes an outdoor patio area and plenty of parking. The inside includes the brewing area (obviously) and then a small, intimate tap room with several high top tables. The service was top notch - the woman behind the bar came over to our table several times to take drink orders and bring us bowls filled with snack pretzels. A few of us ordered regular pints while the rest ordered flights. I enjoyed the pumpkin beer, house Oktoberfest, raspberry beer, and a brown ale (I wish I could remember the specific names of the brews). My favorites were the pumpkin and the brown ale, although I was really pleased with them all. Our friends ordered a pint of a darker beer called "Freight Train" - this one was a real hit with our table. You could really taste the sweetness in the way it was brewed. My ONLY suggestion at this time would be to expand on the non-alcoholic options available. We did have someone in our group who is unable to drink due to health reasons and the only non-alcoholic beverage was ginger ale. It would be nice to see a couple other pop (soda) options available in the future. However, this isn't enough to detract stars from my review. We'll definitely be back the next time we visit Potsdam! We'll be sure to bring our growler to bring some beer home.

Very cool spot with ample parking and nice woods in the back. Surprisingly diverse menu (I.e. not just beer) and friendly staff. If you like IPAs, I really recommend the Deerfly.

I had the Barracks Black and I can't recall the beer my wife got but I think it was an amber ale of sorts. Both were good. I really enjoyed the black and we ended up buying some to take home with us. It was really nice that the staff let us hang out for a bit and enjoy the beer even though it was after closing.

During inclement weather, the music moved to a local restaurant that's close by. This micro-brewery shares space with the King's Lock Distillery (reviewed separately). Their new location in North Hudson is huge and wonderful. Coincidentally, I just realized after reading my previous review that we were here this time on their twelfth anniversary, July 26th. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, PB! Being in Schroon Lake for a memorial visit, it seemed reasonable to travel another twelve miles north to pay PB a visit before returning home. Their parking lot was almost full at 7:30 on a Saturday night. It was amusing to notice the car license plates from so many different states (Canada is still understandingly boycotting the US). There being a 20 to 30 minute wait for a table, we managed to snag two unreserved stools at the bar. I chose to request a Paradox Helles (German style pale lager) while my wife went with a Ginger Hibiscus Cider. Both were excellent. While my wife munched on a House Made Pretzel, I thoroughly enjoyed a Pulled Pork sandwich with a side of spicy coleslaw and potato chips. I dumped the coleslaw (which I didn't find spicy at all) on top of the pulled pork and really enjoyed the combined flavors, textures, and tenderness of the pork on the toasted brioche roll. It was messy but delicious. Their pizzas looked good as I saw them pass by. Next visit may need to be on a weekday when they are less likely to be so busy. Service was excellent considering how busy they were.

Lol! I have had Unibroue on more than one occasion and both times I was highly impressed with their beer. A beer that I may very well be able to say could be a new favorite as long as I can maintain getting it often there Blanche de Chambly. This is a blanche style witbierand after reading up on it is one of the original white ales that date back to the Middle Ages. I have really enjoyed the few that I have had as the blanche witbiers are just not that common in the United States. I have to say the brewery I wrote about a week ago also involved a blanche beer for Meteor Brewing. Although I loved their blanche too without going to France can be a challenge to find but I have seen Unibroue more often as a guest tap in the United States. Flavor highlights with this beer is a light, clean fruitiness which I found to be so very enjoyable. Another beer I had was a stout of theirs called the 30 Anniversaire. This beer I found highly enjoyable as well and as the name implies it is to celebrate 30 years and a thank you to customers. This Belgian style stout has a roasty, toasty and caramel flavor features and with all that combined makes for a delightful maple aroma. I have to say Unibroue really knows what they are doing with their beer and have gotten the belief getting any of their beers will knock your socks off!

For anyone that wants to enjoy this delicious nectar, simply go to their restaurant in Chambly, Fourquette Fourchette! Unibroue is expanding all the time, and apparently, they had issues with tours and beer contamination - thank God they had their priorities in order! Yep, no more tours - small price to pay for badass beer, though! This never prevented drive-by picture taking, though! Hahah. All kidding aside, this place makes incredible beer, and deserves special attention, tours or not. Make this a part of your Montréal visit and you shall not be disappointed!

Service is okay, depending on who you get. They are super busy all the time and if your server isn't on point they will forget things. Their Ubu beer is the best beer there. The cranberry cider is pretty good as well. Shepards pie had very little meat/filling with a larger mashed potato ratio. Apple pie sounds great on paper but had little filling, leaving it super dry because it's baked as an individual personal pie. The whipped crème fraiche was delicious. Wings were nicely fried, crispy on outside and tender inside. Sourdough grilled cheese could've been better by using any other cheese besides Kraft singles. Clam chowder is superb. Beet salad was okay. Turkey burnt ends did not impress me and it's suppose to be their most popular dish. Chicken tenders were delicious. Fried fish was amazing! Huge piece of fish, served with tartar sauce and a side of incredible fries. Detroit style pizza is lackluster. The dough could've been cooked longer as it was underdone.
