Between the four of us, we tried a flight of ciders and the seasonal mule that the bar made; the mule was a hit and so were the 1911 ciders. The Brooklyn ciders were more wine-like in flavor profile, so we didn't finish those. As for food, we tried the spicy cheese curds (can confirm that spicy is an understatement there!), the brisket nachos, two burgers, and the fried pickles. Everyone really enjoyed their food, and the overall atmosphere of this place was nice and relaxing; I could easily see this being a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike. It was dog friendly and not too loud, plus a mix of indoor and outdoor seating was great for the warmer fall day we were having.

The set up is great, they have a big beautiful outdoor patio area as well as a couple seats inside. It looks like they probably do a lot of fun events here, sadly we didn't get to find out. She was really friendly and talked to us about the different beers they brew and the styles and flavors to expect. It is cool how each beer and label pays tribute to the land and history around them. I had the Barracks Black and I can't recall the beer my wife got but I think it was an amber ale of sorts. Both were good. I really enjoyed the black and we ended up buying some to take home with us. It was really nice that the staff let us hang out for a bit and enjoy the beer even though it was after closing.

He was polite, extremely personable, and gave a great recommendation to me on the quesadilla, which turned out to be spot on and was DELICIOUS! I couldn't stop saying how good it was. I also got a flight of 5 beers, which themselves were each unique and enjoyable. Overall we didn't expect much going to a Mexican themed restaurant at a brewery, but we left very impressed and happy we gave it a go. Thanks to Rylan and the kitchen, we had a great experience and would highly recommend giving them a try if in the area. Also I'd note that it was almost empty (A Sunday) when we arrived at almost 5:30, but by the time we left there wasn't an empty seat in the place. So it seems they got a good thing going here

It's inconspicuous, but just hip enough to keep the beer brewing and the crowds satiated. It's a humble operation, but their limited business hours mean they're always busy. Don't worry, there's not a long wait to grab a beer (or four). They also sell a boatload of merch - hats, shirts, glasses. Great gifts for the craft beer lover in your life. Keep an eye out for the car-lined street and the big red barn; when you see those two things, you'll know you made it.

Hex & Hop was a very pleasant stop with great friendly service and a few chats with some of the locals. They had loud live music which I didn't care for, but other sure did. A few rousing sounds including Sweet Caroline, Country Roads and even The Star Spangled Banner got my fellow beer drinkers to participate. So it's not all about me. I tried the hefeweizen and didn't care for it but the Smitty Pils was excellent. I consumed two of those with the day's special pizza "Put A Pep In Your Step." The beers were great, sitting at the bar was great, the pizza was great (and has leftovers!) and my only ding was the loud live music. [Review 1309 of 2024 - 389 in New York - 22332 overall]

Various table games are available to take to your table. nice touch to keep kids occupied. Ordering food and drinks for outside tables isn't the best system as you have to go to bar to make order. They had one person back there and she was overwhelmed making drinks and taking orders. Must be an easier system to implement for making food orders. We had a party of 8 so was very difficult keeping track and going back and forth. Maybe during busy times a waitress would be best and non peak hours ordering at bar would be fine. Dog cup of meat is a nice addition on menu. Dog was happy! Beer was excellent. Good variety and fair pricing. Frosted beer glasses would be even better. Food was average bar food at best. Burger patty was thin and flavorless. Pork on sandwich was extremely dry but sauce on it helped. Poutine fries were good and gravy was great but no curds to be found just melted cheese. Should be called disco fries not poutine fries. Biggest minus we encountered was the awful stench in the parking lot and on the patio occasionally depending on the wind. I mean come on ! This has to be addressed !!! Can't eat and drink in sewer stench. People covering their noses in parking lot on the way in is not ideal :) Get a pro and fix this asap ! Overall we enjoyed it as it's very comfortable and great atmosphere and very good beer. Fair pricing. Will return and hopefully that stench will be gone with the wind!

Even those with more casual interest in beer probably know that DDC makes really great drinks. And yep, they were excellent. I wasn't there to do a long session, so I got a couple tasters, one including Peche Mortal and the other a NEIPA. Two very different styles and both extremely well done. Beyond that, the space had a very old-fashioned look. Really nice wooden fixtures and a very warm, welcoming vibe. The server was also attentive and friendly, but also knew when to let people sit back and enjoy their drinks. You probably don't need me to tell you, but yes, you should go.

He expressed interest in hitting up some breweries, so I did some research and compiled a few we could potentially visit. Brasserie Dieu du Ciel was one of them, and it just so happened we were in its vicinity after our Mile End food tour concluded. That being said, we made our way over. While I am not a beer person myself, I'll have a round or two if I'm with a group, and can appreciate a good brewery. My first impression of Dieu du Ciel was just that - the vibes were on walking in. The space is pretty large - kinda separated into semi- compartmentalized spaces with tables throughout. There's not much decor, but medium-toned woods throughout which gave it a sort of upscale feel. They offer a food menu, but we were just here for drinks. They have a really wide selection of beer - again, I'm no connoisseur, but I could tell that the selection was way more than other breweries I've been to. I ended up getting a cider for the first round and a stout for my second round - both very good. Service was great, and overall we enjoyed our time at Dieu du Ciel. Their selection and comfortable setting made it a standout brewery for me out of the ones I've visited in Montreal - I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Lol! I have had Unibroue on more than one occasion and both times I was highly impressed with their beer. A beer that I may very well be able to say could be a new favorite as long as I can maintain getting it often there Blanche de Chambly. This is a blanche style witbierand after reading up on it is one of the original white ales that date back to the Middle Ages. I have really enjoyed the few that I have had as the blanche witbiers are just not that common in the United States. I have to say the brewery I wrote about a week ago also involved a blanche beer for Meteor Brewing. Although I loved their blanche too without going to France can be a challenge to find but I have seen Unibroue more often as a guest tap in the United States. Flavor highlights with this beer is a light, clean fruitiness which I found to be so very enjoyable. Another beer I had was a stout of theirs called the 30 Anniversaire. This beer I found highly enjoyable as well and as the name implies it is to celebrate 30 years and a thank you to customers. This Belgian style stout has a roasty, toasty and caramel flavor features and with all that combined makes for a delightful maple aroma. I have to say Unibroue really knows what they are doing with their beer and have gotten the belief getting any of their beers will knock your socks off!
