Assisted ably by Andrea who was tending the bar and also waitressing, she explained everything about the restaurant and the specials for the week. The dining room was slow, and Andrea made sure we had everything we needed. We started with a Shock Top, an order of onion, rings, and I ordered the fresh perch dinner and my husband, the Ruben sandwich. They have a magician in the kitchen who perfectly cooks the food as everything was fabulous! The tartar sauce is house made, as is the cole slaw. Seafood is on the menu year round thus the "cans and clams" night. There is live music on weekends, so we must return! Lemon meringue pie topped off our night. Such a great yet unassuming place for dinner.

We had called ahead and had a reservation for 5:30, we were seated as soon as we got there in the dining room. The room is full of memorabilia of the past, some taxidermy animals, and honestly just fun stuff, if you get bored with conversation in your party, just take a gander around. We went on seafood night and every thing tasted so fresh and delicious, the soup came out hot. Salads and seafood were very fresh. Our waitress was attentive if we needed anything else. I would definitely go back.

That may sound Kareny of me but in a hotel that's minimalistic and touts their functionality a non working room tv is kind of crappy representation. The new remote didn't work either and all the front desk offered was to switch our room but since we had already unpacked we didn't really want to take the time to do after driving all day.

The reasons: The room was right across from the heavy steel stairwell door, which opened and shut constantly. The window shades did not keep the exterior Costco lights from glaring into the room. The heater rattled and shook so loudly that even ear plugs couldn't block the constant racket out. Yet, turning off the heater resulted in the room becoming unbearably cold very quickly, and the hotel did not provide extra blankets. At 3:30 a.m., I went to the front desk to inquire if I could switch to another room. But before I could finish describing the issues, the staff person snapped, "There ARE no other rooms!" and couldn't care less. No apologies, no "let me see what we can do," nothing. Lesson learned. We will never stay at any Tru by Hilton again.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.

I was traveling with my sister, brother in law and their family as my nephew graduated from SU that day. My brother in law booked 3 rooms through Booking.Com and unfortunately there was a mix up and although his card was charged and had a confirmation number, there was no reservation when we got to the hotel. The manager and staff were so accommodating and were persistent in getting to the bottom of our issue. I was in the lobby but heard the manager ( I believe) calling Booking.Com to clear up the matter. Other staff came out to check on us while we waited and offered us water and snacks. It could have turned out badly for us but they got to the bottom of it. I wanted to express my appreciation and hope they can be recognized. The rooms were comfortable and clean. One of the nicest breakfasts I have ever had. Thank you again from a recent traveler!

The beds are your typical standard comfort inn beds and pillows. The rooms are set up motel style. big rooms though. And it was clean. Standard mini fridge and microwave in room. I am taking off 2 stars because the front desk staff could be better (the old lady who works evenings smh) and the cleaning lady came knocking on my door 2 hours prior to check out and when I started running to the door to go answer it, she started keying in already!! Even though we told them not to disturb us. When I asked her, "isn't check out at 11?!" She goes "yes it is, but I thought you left and no one was in the room cause there's no cars in the parking lot". Like what? Our car WAS there, well within visibility. And she woke us up so rudely from our sleep and I get migraines from triggers easily. Just Unacceptable! Felt so rushed to leave there!

The hallway to my room had very stale air, sort of musty. Several areas smelled of marijuana. I didn't see anyone and the place seemed fairly quiet. I got to the room and the door was very hard to open and close. The room is fairly larger with standard hotel decor. Everything appears to be fairly clean. The bed is really comfy. The AC seems to operate when it wants to. It's not cooling properly which would be a problem if it was hot out. No microwave in the room but there is larger size mini fridge which is a plus. There's a few blemishes here and there in the room. The side entrance door has no security lock on it, that's a negative. There is a key card device there but the door doesn't lock. Over all it's not a bad place but it's not a great place. Good for a night, maybe two. It wouldn't be my first choice to come back to. *Edit* I had to come back and update this review, and to drop it down to two stars. After about 10pm Saturday night, someone was smoking somewhere and the room was filling with cigarette stench. I tried calling the front desk but there was no answer. I quit smoking years ago and this stench is horrible to me now. My throat is still irritated from this.

You're DEFINITELY NOT in "Syracuse", if you're thinking you're in a downtown area. It's surrounded by a factory, an RV lot, and some houses. Nothing is in walking distance. Just FYI 2.) The "quality" is just not here at quality inn and suites. We were there to meet some friends and as soon as we get there one set of friends says to not leave our suitcases on the floor. Our other set of friends upon check in, had to get their rooms switched because there were cockroaches. I thought yikes, that's too bad for them! But I go back to my room and while in the bathroom, sure enough! There's a large beetle like thing crawling across the floor. Ugh! Gross! 3.) stains on the covers and the comforter didn't look like it had been washed. Hairs on it and fuzzies all over it. I didn't event bother with their breakfast, no interest.
