Yet, turning off the heater resulted in the room becoming unbearably cold very quickly, and the hotel did not provide extra blankets. At 3:30 a.m., I went to the front desk to inquire if I could switch to another room. But before I could finish describing the issues, the staff person snapped, "There ARE no other rooms!" and couldn't care less. No apologies, no "let me see what we can do," nothing. Lesson learned. We will never stay at any Tru by Hilton again.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.

I was traveling with my sister, brother in law and their family as my nephew graduated from SU that day. My brother in law booked 3 rooms through Booking.Com and unfortunately there was a mix up and although his card was charged and had a confirmation number, there was no reservation when we got to the hotel. The manager and staff were so accommodating and were persistent in getting to the bottom of our issue. I was in the lobby but heard the manager ( I believe) calling Booking.Com to clear up the matter. Other staff came out to check on us while we waited and offered us water and snacks. It could have turned out badly for us but they got to the bottom of it. I wanted to express my appreciation and hope they can be recognized. The rooms were comfortable and clean. One of the nicest breakfasts I have ever had. Thank you again from a recent traveler!

I am taking off 2 stars because the front desk staff could be better (the old lady who works evenings smh) and the cleaning lady came knocking on my door 2 hours prior to check out and when I started running to the door to go answer it, she started keying in already!! Even though we told them not to disturb us. When I asked her, "isn't check out at 11?!" She goes "yes it is, but I thought you left and no one was in the room cause there's no cars in the parking lot". Like what? Our car WAS there, well within visibility. And she woke us up so rudely from our sleep and I get migraines from triggers easily. Just Unacceptable! Felt so rushed to leave there!

There's a few blemishes here and there in the room. The side entrance door has no security lock on it, that's a negative. There is a key card device there but the door doesn't lock. Over all it's not a bad place but it's not a great place. Good for a night, maybe two. It wouldn't be my first choice to come back to. *Edit* I had to come back and update this review, and to drop it down to two stars. After about 10pm Saturday night, someone was smoking somewhere and the room was filling with cigarette stench. I tried calling the front desk but there was no answer. I quit smoking years ago and this stench is horrible to me now. My throat is still irritated from this.

My husband ordered off the regular menu and got two huge pieces of haddock on a platter with two sides. Their fish selection is really good and the last time, I was there, I had the perch. The atmosphere is a little bit odd or should I say quirky? It is a very clean establishment, but the dining room is filled with tchotchkes of various sorts, including taxidermy animals and baskets of little porcelain bears.
