Waste of space.
I took a near new pirelli tyre down there to take off a golf wheel and put onto an Escort. The "kid" that did it spent about 10 minutes fiddling with the weights.
I have had loads of tyres done and they've never taken that long to sort the weights out so I knew something was wrong.
Finally it was done and they took it to the end of the garage to get the tracking done. When it was up there the guy noticed that air was leaking. The tyre was find as it was taken off my friends card the night before as he bought new alloys.
He got a cup of water and sure enoug the leak just happened to be exactly where the weight was placed.
Anyway, he said he fixed it and that was that, the next evening I was driving along an icey the road, the steering was awful because of the ice, but I soon noticed a burning rubber smell.
The tyre had become flat and I was stranded. After an hours wait in the freezing cold my dad came out and pumped the tyre up.
There was no puncture, but air was leaking from where Town Tyres had messed up the job and I now had a ruined tyre.
I took it back the next day and after ignoring me at the counter and serving another custoemr before me (What was I invisible or something?) they took a look at it and basically said it was my fault and they wanted to charge me yet more money because of their £100 a week tyre monkey fresh out of school messed the job up.
Not everyone there is bad, but you need to realise a lot of them are teenagers and entrusting these people with your life is a big deal.
I have been using town tyres for years and never had any problems, but this was a real kick in the teeth, especially as it would not have cost them anythign to fix.
Instead they wanted to pass on the cost to me, no apology, nothing, even though it was their fault that the tyre went down.
I have now setup a forum and a website and will be exposing them to as many people as I can.
I run a local car club and I hope to warn as many people as possible.
It seems the only thing these people care about is money, no apologies for their mistake, or the fact that I was stranded, and to add insult to injusry he wanted me to pay more money to get it done again.
Will never use these guys again and it's going to cost them a lot more in negative PR by the time I'm done with them.
I hate being ripped off, but its going to be pretty easy to direct web traffic to my website and hopefully people will see this before they go there.

It also has a forum, but like I said, it isn't about the money.
Its about them not only leaving me stranded, not giving a crap about supplying me with potched job, but turning round and expecting me to run around and pay more money to get it fixed.
Bearing in mind I had no car to car drive around in and had to do this via and lifts and taxis.
I'll gladly spend more time and money giving these guys as much negative PR as I can. And its only slander and libel if it isn't true.
If they want to take me to court then then be my guest, but it will only draw more attention to the website.
