Came here to eat the Albertsons rotisserie chicken, as I've started reviewing all grocery store tissys. This series has sort of started taking off on Tiktok, and it's just a little overwhelming. I don't really know why. I've been posting on Tiktok for about a year and a half now, and went from 7k followers to 17k in a few days due to this series. 17k still really isn't anything in the grand scheme of things, but idk. It has me in a weird headspace. Part of it is I finally got some traction, and I don't want to fall off. Part of it is my Tiktok account getting flooded with notifications makes me anxious. Part of it is I feel weird talking about it with my friends and family, as Tiktok to them is just like a little kid thing. Idk. I'm kinda proud but also kind of embarrassed in the same breath. Part of it is I'm 29 years old and still feel like I have nothing figured out. I'm unhappy with my full time job, and thought I'd have a full blown career and family at this point. I'm genuinely such a passionate person in general, and would love to do something I'm passionate about full time. I feel like I'd be unstoppable. Am I the chicken guy now? I guess so lmao. I just have such a love for food in general, as you can really get to know a culture through their food. People light tf up over food. I don't write this to make it seem like I'm somebody, I'm obviously not at all. I'm just trying to vent. Trying to figure myself out. They call them Golden Palm Stars here and in order to get one, you had to have lived in the Greater Palm Springs area. Showbiz people galore of course, but also presidents, writers, civic leaders, humanitarians - so a bit different than Hollywood. But it's actually fascinating and for a young buck like myself (40 felt young in PS lolz), it was an educational time to learn about a bunch of great SoCal prominent humans. Mainly along Palm Springs Drive, but also down Museum Way and Tahquitz Canyon Drive in Downtown Palm Springs, you'll find over 400 stars! So cool that so many have realized the amazingness of this town. Started in 1992, with Bob Hope as one of the initial celebrities to get a star others like Leslie Jordan in 2023 - RIP. Very similar to the star walk in Hollywood, you'll see stars for many people you recognize as well as some you may not have heard of. As a road-trip enthusiast, this cant get any better…read more Idyllwild is a great weekend road trip destination. If you are in SoCal, you should check this small mountain town out. The atmosphere, scenery and the weather provide instant relaxation. Maybe we are up in the mountains, the sky is extra clear and blue! The town center quad has bars, cafes, tons of mediation stores and a great picture setting. We arrived in late march, most of the snow had been melted. At 3pm, the temperature was around 60 degree. We spent several hours checking stores after stores. Everyone was relax and friendly! and there is more! The road up to the town is some fun twisty mountain road. If you like some mountain road driving, this road-trip will provide it too!

It was definitely a fun road trip / day trip experience. Essentially it's very small town, nature vibes. Located in the mountains it's a nice drive. Twisty turns and roads that lead to a cute town and plenty of nature paths, hikes, and sites to explore. Definitely Idyllwild is great for the outdoorsy folks who like to camp and hike. As far as the town goes, it's got old timey charm and is a nice little escape from the big city life. Shops are charming and a nice small variety of restaurants here. I found it an entertaining place to visit for a few hours but then that's about it. If you aren't a hiker or camper, their downtown area is walkable and even if you go slow, you can see everything in about an hour or two. While the shops are fun and kitchy, not a lot of great shopping. Restaurants are standard for a small town but nothing 5 star worthy that I could find that you'd come out of your way for a meal for. If you can appreciate an old school town with friendly locals/shop owners and nice scenery then it's a great stop for you. I'm really happy I came and I had fun, but this isn't a town/area I'd need to come back to anytime soon. Every few years coming up for the day would be just fine with me. Cute place, old school vibes and nice change of scenery.

I took a picture at night earlier this year, but didn't love how they came out and wanted to get a daytime shot... But the land is now for sale. Formerly on Sunny Dunes Rd across from Gear Leather, ToolShed Bar, Q Trading Gift Store, and other neighboring business in a small desert plot of land just directly next to Kenneth's Automotive. It will now be somewhere in the DTPS area... This video by Lisa Faye was pretty helpfully in letting people know it would be reinstalled (most likely in Downtown Palm Springs). Stay tuned!

That's too bad they removed the display, but it probably doesn't make sense now seasonally to have it there. I wonder if anyone purchased them haha since there was a sign under the orange one but not when we visited. I always love fun and free art installations around the city. Along the "one eleven", Highway 111, is a place called Shiprock Monument. A fellow yelper had "beat…read moreme to the punch line" and planted the "Yelpers Flag" at this location... so I had to see this place for myself. Shiprock, a formidable rock formation rises from the desert floor. Kinda resembles a majestic ship sailing through sandy seas. The Navajo people held it sacred, honoring its significance for generations. Shiprock is a towering, weathered rock commanding respect, shaped by nature's enduring forces. Its origins intrigued me, and I immersed myself in its history. Legend spoke of a great flood, and the Shiprock served as a vessel of salvation for the Navajo people. Transformed into stone, it symbolized protection and resilience. Very very interesting.. Stepping out of my car, I neared the monument, captivated by its grandeur. The colors and patterns etched into the rock unveiled the passage of time. Yet, the desert had other plans. Suddenly, winds roared, untamed and furious. Sand swirled, obscuring the monument. The tempest, relentless, threatened my presence. Struggling to stay upright, I sought shelter in my car. The wind rattled, buffeting the vehicle, while dust particles assaulted the air. It felt as if I'd stumbled into a wild haboob, nature's chaotic storm. With great effort, I retreated to safety, my heart pounding. Inside the car, I realized nature's power had exceeded my expectations. The monument, once serene, transformed into a battleground. Summoning courage, I started the engine and escaped the storm's clutches. Gratitude washed over me as the wind subsided, leaving a calm desert in its wake. With memories of Shiprock imprinted on my mind, it makes me wonder if there is something almost supernatural about this location...
