Had some cavities that needed to be filled, teeth cleaning, etc. Standard stuff when you haven't seen a dentist for a long time. Had the work done and paid a few hundred $$$. A year ago in early 2023, the dentist again stated i needed several cavities filled, along with an all-around deep clean in all quadrants, resulting in a quote of several hundred $$$. I don't recall the exact number, but i think it was within the range of $800-$1200. At that point I called BS and had my records transferred to UT Health School of Dentistry for a second opinion. After seeing a student and some of the seasoned dentistry mentors, I was told Dr. Su was doing unnecessary work in order to jack up the bill. After a thorough examination at UT Health, I just needed a general cleaning and had one shallow cavity that the school wasn't particularly worried about while taking note of some questionable work being done on the left side of my mouth. Today (03/20/2024) I'm finding out that the Dr. Su did so poorly with the left side of my mouth that the dentists (not students) can't even get floss between my teeth with standard floss. This was a concern of mine 2 years ago when I first became a patient of Dr. Su's. She would ultimately shrug off my concerns by saying something to the effect of "well I can get floss between your teeth just fine." I mean, that's great that you can, but I as the patient and living with this shoddy work on a daily basis still cannot floss efficiently on the left side of my mouth. Beware of this practice. Do yourself a favour, and go to UT Health instead. Everything is peer reviewed there right in front of your face.

I went to Castroville Dental to have a crown buildup done on a tooth. I questioned the dentist…read morerunning from one patient to another in the exam area. I was waiting after the majority of the procedure was done and they were doing impressions to cast new crown. The doctor only one in this practice walked away to go to look at another patient i am sure she did not wash her hands after working on me and put her dirty hands in their mouth from mine. She returned to my room never went to sink to wash her hands and stuck her dirty gloves in my MOUTH before i realized what had happened. I immediately asked her if she washed her hands she looked shocked i said something and immediately went and washed her hands and changed her gloves. So long story short i am having to pay for infectious disease testing. I was in that office on September 10-2023 if you are a patient of theres and were there around 11:00am to 1:00pm. I would recommend being tested for any infectious diseases spread through bodily fluids. I would highly recommend anyone other than this office and if you do go there watch her very closely she bounces from one patient to another. Tried to talk to there parent company and got no response. We are responsible for our own health. Update. I got my braces put on right before Covid hit and once everything shut down I started to freak out a little. But Dr. Hulme and his staff did an OUTSTANDING job with constant communication during the lockdown as well as top notch safety precautions once they were allowed to open back up. Not only did I feel safe going back in but them rescheduling everyone went seamlessly so that I was still able to stay on track with my treatment plan and estimated time to finish. I just recently got my braces taken off and couldn't be happier with the end result! Dr. Hulme is not only knowledgeable but also very sweet and seems to really care about his patients.
