This was a stop for a coffee and a short break. My wife opted for a Coca Cola. The service was great and the flat white coffee was superb. I noticed in the cafes when coffee was being served that both white and brown sugar were also served.
We sat awhile in cosy chairs watching the world go by within this bright, modern shopping mall located not far from old town.
It's our first time in Poland and it was delightful to find ourselves in a place that is overloaded with coffee bars and ice cream parlours, equally popular are sweet waffles. Most of the staff in the coffee bars and ice cream places were young so almost all understood and spoke good English.
Another delight was the range of ice creams particularly the black cherry and their fondness for serving up an advocaat sauce over the ice cream.
The advocaat was as surprise as it's a Dutch product made from eggs, sugar, and brandy. It makes a great sauce as it's rich and creamy with a smooth, custard-like consistency. While the typical alcohol content is generally somewhere between 14% and 20% I guess from the booze hit the sauce was at 20%. read more
