I replied with Great, thank you. Received a call from, Chris the next day. I wasn't ready to buy a car yet however we talked about options and I viewed the website. Told him would call when I was ready. The insurance company finally paid off my car (financed). I didn't really want my credit ran and couldn't afford to pay for the. Rental returned it and went next door to see what was available. Great cars in the lot all clean and ready to drive. No negotiating all prices are listed and firm ( not a problem for me). Ok so this is what happened I told him look I don't want you looking for financing for no reason the other loan won't reflect paid. Showed him the payment being sent to insurance gave him my info and we found financing in less than five actually several banks approved me. The best part is the car that I ended up getting wasn't even the car I thought of buying - I drive a couple of cars and based on our conversation Chris pulled the car of my dreams in the front I drove it, loved it Went inside and made the purchase. I appreciate my Salesperson Chris for directing me in the right direction because I didn't see that car any place and it met my price point. Happy Driver

Awful customer service once you sign the papers. Actually as you sign the papers (it's digital) the finance woman had me create an account with password on her giant desk-sized keyboard. I figured it was something I would need to access in the future so chose a familiar password. I wish I hadn't because the woman watched my every keystroke like a hawk (can't be discrete on a desk-sized keyboard). I immediately assumed she was watching to ensure my password met the requirements but after a couple seconds it dawned on me she now has the password to my bank login and more...and I had just handed her every bit of person information needed for security checks, short of my thumbprint. Instead of email or print your documents they email you a password secure file. Well I wasn't able to open said zip file to access my necessary documents for registration and tax purposes a few days later. I tried calling. No response. I left a voicemail. No response. I was referred to an email after calling multiple times. No response. It took weeks (no exaggeration, granted I wasn't trying every day) to finally get in touch with someone who got back to me only to insist I go through the financing woman that processed my sale...which is where I started. It was finally through the text notifying my license plates had come in, where I was able to speak to someone that could get me some but not all of my document copies of the sale (was requesting only 2 pertinent documents) I can't imagine if I had to go through this place for actual servicing of my vehicle etc. never want to deal with them again.

He works good and he…read moregets 4stars(minus one for involving in these shady schemes), but the thing is that sales person makes a sales and paperwork is on financing department, which has dishonest attitude to customers. In addition to the fact that the car requires investments(transmission, oil pan leak, rear rotors etc), which I found out about when signing the papers, the owner of the company Antonio said that with an installment plan for three months, their company will be listed on the title, but if I make a payment before August 8, the title will come with my name without adding their company to it. While at the dealer, I said that I would come and pay everything before August 8, since I do not want anyone to be listed on the title. Today, on August 5, I talked to Antonio, who, as it turned out, is also a finance manager. He said that they will check if they have already requested the Title, to which I said that I have three more days to make the payment, which I intend to make before August 7, since I do not want to see anyone in the title except me, but he began to explain to me with everyone that they send the documents in the first week, and perhaps the title already has their name and I will have to re-register it at my own expense. As a result, we had a conflict because they lied at the beginning regarding the payment until August 8. Also, this person systematically interrupted and I had to raise my intonation so that he would stop interrupting and start listening, which is extremely unprofessional on his part. The result of what came out: additional expenses for the car, lies during the transaction, incompetent behavior in the dialogue and incompetent attitude to the sale with added problems for the buyer. I do not think that I will recommend this dealer to anyone, rather I will voice it so that they avoid it. I will also add information to the reviews on how the situation was resolved so that people can soberly evaluate the work with this dealer. I will also add info on BBB, YELP, and other platforms to make sure people will be prepared

Tyler (sales) and Christian (F&I) will take care of you and get you back on the road again. Many thanks! I would highly recommend this independently-owner dealership to anyone for stress-free, zero-pressure car shopping.

The truck I bought appeared to be in great shape, salesmen told me it had no issues, that they have a shop check everything over in detail. My guess is at some point they used a short term additive to fix the engine light, lasted just long enough for me to test drive and get down the road. After politely following up and asking for some help, I was told to kick rocks (not literally, just 'sorry vehicle sold as-is'). Dealing with Christian Taylor (salesman) was great, I appreciated him, but the establishment as a whole is not to be trusted.

No pressure and very helpful. Upon wanting to take a test drive, it was found that the truck had a faulty battery. Craig apologized and asked if we could come back in a few hours and it would be fixed. That left us time to look at trucks from other lots. When we returned, the truck had a new battery and we did a test drive, loved it and made the purchase. Multiple months later the battery failed under warranty. I couldn't find the battery paperwork and called Craig for a copy. He got back to me the same day and stated he couldn't find it either. He then told me to go to their associated repair shop several blocks away and he would pay for a new replacement battery! Now THAT is customer service and why we've purchased two vehicles from them. It'll be time to buy another vehicle soon and you can bet we'll return to Gene Pankey Motors and the great service that Craig offers! Personally, I've never had such great customer service at any other vehicle sales location. Gene Pankey Motors is THE place to buy quality pre-owned vehicles. I cannot recommend them any higher!

When I asked if I could put down a payment to reserve the car with the hopes they would fix it that week I was told they would just sell it to someone else. Ended up taking 5 days to get the car back during repairs. Was never offered a rental car or any alternative local mechanics. Asked my sales person if there was anything they could do and was told to talk to the mechanic and that the boss would call me. Never got a call. Had to drive 2 hours with a friend to pick the car up since I'm not local which was frustrating. Overall not a great buying experience would not recommend buying anything here that's not fully ready to drive off the lot. That being said they did do the repairs and the car seems to be running well. Will come and update this review in 8 months or so with how the car is doing.

When we went to look at it intially the dealer had the AutoCheck available, but not the Carfax which was strange since they have a big Carfax sign in the window. We also got some verbiage about how Carfax reported every little thing and wasn't necessarily accurate. I still paid for the Carfax when we got home ($40). What a surprise to learn the vehicle had been in an accident. This wasn't a dealbreaker as I still believed the "over-reporting" by Carfax the dealer told us and figured it was a fender bender. We went forward with the pre-purchase inspection ($100). My trusted AAA mechanic said the vehicle had been near-totaled and the damage hadn't been repaired very well. It was quite obvious when the mechanic showed me. I'm not sure why the dealer's mechanic didn't catch it. The car had been pulling to the right and it turns out this was due to a bent strut that hadn't been repaired. There were also some issues with the emissions equipment. The dealer showed me paperwork of what had supposedly been repaired when I noted that the vehicle had failed emissions in June, 2017. When I got home I realized what I had was an estimate, not a guarantee that the work had been done. The vehicle ran a little rough about 25% of the time so I asked the mechanic to look into it. He said it was running like it was "trying to throw codes" (in other words, emissions problems). My mechanic advised me to pass. I was cordial and polite, but told the dealer based on the pre-purchase inspection we no longer wanted the vehicle. When we returned it, the salesman (Martin) and the owner (Chuck) made all kinds of excuses about how the damage was minor and there wasn't anything wrong with it. They showed no interest in my report from the mechanic and kept insisting the vehicle was fine. I didn't say anything because I just wanted my deposit back without any hassle. Chuck remained cordial, but fast-talking Martin turned quite surly. I did receive my deposit back even though I spent $140 for nothing. I don't know how they could deny a report from AAA mechanic, or damage I could see with my own eyes. I didn't receive an apology nor was there any concern that someone could buy an unsafe money-pit. If there had been any regret or offers to fix the emissions and the strut, this would've been a different review. It could be a good car for someone with the problems fixed and full-disclosure of the accident. Honesty is worth gold, or in this case, a sale. If anyone wants the Carfax or has any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

That alone tells you everything. The man running it doesn't care about you, your situation, or what you're going through you're just another number to squeeze. He'll smile in your face like he's helping, like he's giving you a chance... but behind that is a setup. The car he puts you in? It's already dying. You just don't know it yet. Two days, maybe a week if you're luckyy then something breaks, something expensive, something that puts you right where he wants you: stuck. And that's when the real game starts. Now you're behind, payments stacking, stress building and he's watching it happen. Because the goal was never to help you keep the car. The goal was to make sure you lose it. Default hits, he takes it back, raises the price, and sells it all over again to the next person walking in thinking they caught a break. It's a cycle. And he's perfected it. You don't walk into that place and leave with a car you walk in and slowly get pulled into a system designed to bleed you dry. I was $600 away from owning that car. After putting $3,000 down.... 6k total , grinding through every issue it threw at me chasing parts, fixing what I could, and paying out of pocket just to keep it alive. Then everything started piling up. The car breaks down literally across the street, not even 1,000 feet away and somehow I'm hit with towing fees over $100 like I went cross-country. Then come the storage fees... the "repairs"... suddenly I'm being told it's over $2,000 just to fix an alternator, some blown fuses, and a battery. Every step felt like another door closing, another hand in my pocket. But that wasn't the worst part. April 1st the day says everything. He repossesses the car. Not because I abandoned it. Not because I gave up on it. But over an insurance payment something he conveniently "forgets" to collect from people, until it benefits him. And just like that, it's gone. So I come back, trying to do the right thing, trying to finish what I started reminding him I only had $600 left. I'm thinking I can settle it, get my car back, move forward. Nah. Now the number isn't $600. Now it's $5,000. That's when it really clicks this was never about helping me get a car. It was about setting me up to lose it. Every fee, every delay, every "mistake" wasn't random... it was part of the play. Anus is his name I mean AMOS BARKLEY
