Anyway, looks like I may have dodged a bullet after now reading all the past reviews. My personal experience was excellent. They arrived within the time frame I was told they would. Got a text to say they were on the way and then the technician, Mike, called to say he was almost there. He was very nice and professional and helped get my car started plus gave me tips on what to tell the car dealer when I take my car in. It was 4:30pm and I was in a parking lot so not quite the same as being stuck on the side of the road like other reviewers. But nonetheless time is precious so I was glad it wasn't longer. Then a text said two hours. Then another text another hour. It is now almost FOUR hours later and still no tow truck. When I called in to AAA on hold extremely long time. Last call in to AAA we were cut off and agent pushed the call, forwarded to the tow service company. This is after we asked if AAA was going to remove this call from my annual services. Absolutely the worst experience ever. I broke down Friday along the grape vine and AAA dispatched them with high alert as I was in dangerous heat and on the shoulder of the freeway. I waited the expected time for them to arrive and called for an update which I was then told I'd be another 2 hours! By this time it was over 100 degrees. I waited and waited, kept being told it'd be another hour. Eventually called a private tow which came in 20 minutes! To add to this horrible experience Towing Castaic called me 4 times at 1230am before I picked up to cancel my tow. I was already in bed asleep! Horrible experience! We placed a call through AAA twice for a service tow and both times they were assigned to this place. 1st call placed at 4:30 PM. Second call placed at 7:00 pm. Calls which were cancelled by this towing company. This was on a Saturday afternoon 06/12/2021. I understand being busy but a courtesy call would have been appreciated to advise that they were at capacity or that they simply didn't want to take the call. My husband, our son and our dog were stranded in the middle of nowhere 65 miles from home. We got home at 11:30 PM. My Toyota Avalon had a totally dead battery, which I had tried to jump-start on my own, with no success, and had tried a slow recharge of the battery to reattempt starting. No luck. I contacted AAA, since I have the towing and battery starting services, and the technician, Robert, came out from Castaic Towing to see if the car could be started, or tow it to my regular auto service place if starting wasn't possible. Robert was very friendly and courteous. After looking over the battery and connections, he suggested that we try jumping with his 24 V battery from his truck, and also suggested we retighten all the battery connections. All this took just a few minutes. Lo and behold, the car started right up! He suggested running the engine for a few minutes to make sure all was in order, which worked A-OK. All in all, I only have good things to say about the service technician, Robert, the service he provided, and was very happy in up and running with minimal hassle. Kudos! read more

I have used AAA for over 8 years and never had an issue. Our company trucks unfortunately break down every now and then and we need immediate service. Today Was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a AAA vender, Castaic towing. Their manager is extremely rude and I can barely understand what he is saying, while talking 100 MPH He tried to explain that there was gonna be some overages but couldn't tell me what that cost was. He also mentioned I had to be at the auto repair shop before they towed the vehicle even-though they're the company that towed it there. I left work to meet him there at the repair shop. They refuse to tow the vehicle from the auto repair shop and left before I showed up. I called Castaic towing and they told me to go find a different company to help and Hung up. If I own that company I would definitely fire the manager. That explains the one star rating. You guys suck! read more

Had the misfortune of getting these crooks sent by AAA for a flat on my F150, no tools, needed to get towed tried to shake me down for extra money to tow it on my AAA. apparently an F150 is to heavy for the tow truck with AAA but not if you pay cash. My boyfriends 2 kids (one adult and one minor)were stuck in the middle of the street at 9:30 pm - called AAA and was told tow truck would be out in an hour. We made the drive up to Santa Clarita from Orange County and beat the tow truck there. Called AAA again and was told now we had to wait 3 hours until midnight for tow. Kept calling Towing Castaic and no one would answer. AAA was called at least 10 times. Finally after waiting almost 6 hours no call no show from towing company, we gave up. My truck was broken down at 2 am. It took them an hour for them to arrive. When the driver arrived, he denied to tow me because he said my pickup truck was too big. He then explained that towing a pickup truck with bigger tires and a lift kit is against policy. But then said that he could tow it for $500 more. I needed a tire change yesterday. I went through AAA and they assigned this towing company. They are the worst company that I have ever worked with. After waiting one hour and a half for them. I called and they told me that they would be at my location in 20mins. I waited and waited and they never came to help me. I waited a total of 3 hours. I never got a call back back from them for any updates. At the end I got tired of waiting and changed my own tire myself. Worst tow company ever, I don't know what AAA contracts with these guys, they have 2 good drivers I've dealt with, but overall the company and management is trash, I've called to complain several times and they will not put me in contact with the owner. Drivers along with managers are rude and think their the gift from god in the management world. This is not a real towing company. I only discovered that after waiting EIGHT HOURS for a tow. They said they were "local", they are not. It's an internet scam. Their "service" takes your money upfront, then calls a "roadside assistance line" that in turn calls an actual local tow company (which ended up being Precision Towing) to do the actual job, we only found out because we were so frustrated for the no-show with this non-towing company that we started calling other local towing companies and this one knew all about our job! The dispatch person told us they were being engaged by a "roadside service" company. And that they were being paid $200 (we were charged nearly $300). If you try to cancel the tow they will charge you "50-100%" of the fee! They promised us 60 to 90 minutes pick up ( we were stranded in Castaic town) we discovered the actual towing company had not been notified until THREE HOURS after we put in the initial call!! Unbelievable! We were getting calls from all over the US (calls randomly routed from Phillipines - where their "help line" is based. I have two young kids and a wife, and this 8 hour wait was like torture!! Someone ought to report this company, at least to AAA to remove them from their roster!! WORST EVER EXPERIENCE! The WORST!!
