I was excited to try The Tower Kitchen & Bar after being such a big fan of The Top, appropriately located on the vertically opposite end of the building. The ambiance and atmosphere of The Tower was pretty nice--it's located a floor below the lobby floor which gives it a rather underground feeling. Similar to the other restaurant, there are big windows to look out (although the view isn't as nice as upstairs!) The big highlight here was the staff and bar. The service from our waiter was prompt and friendly, and the drinks that the bar was bringing out were pretty good! The food could definitely use an overhaul though. It's not that the food was "bad" per se, but for the prices that they are charging & for the solid delivery that is going on upstairs, they could definitely do better downstairs. The flatbread that we got frankly did not taste fresh and was possibly reheated, and the steak & sides were a disappointment--bland, chewy and not cooked as requested. Not an impressive entre.

My son and I had been curious about the roof top We're both glad we tried it The food was incredible and pairing the Chef inspired sauces with the shared dishes, were really enjoyed by my son and myself Impeccable service with an energetic and knowledgeable server The area inside is a bit stark and boring, but in the daytime, that really doesn't come to play with the grand views of north and west Rockford... Outside on on the deck spaces is where you can really enjoy the views and I can only imagine the views in the evening....and hopefully soon for me.

This is more of a 3.5 star review than a 3. The staff was nice and helpful. We started with a coconut shrimp appetizer. The shrimp and salad that came with it were delicious, but our fries were obviously not fresh. We told the waitress, and she was very nice. She replaced or fries and they were delicious (see photo evidence). The shrimp were crispy and flavorful in the sauce that they came with was good. My wife ordered a berry gin cocktail that was very good. It was well balanced you could taste the berry and the gin. Not too strong. I ordered a Miller Light draft. The waitress brought me a bottle after informing me they were out of the draft. No biggie with that beer! The chicken pasta with a red sauce was fine, but unremarkable. Solid dish, but nothing to write home about. I ordered the pizza with beef, arugula and balsamic. It was pretty good and I ate the whole thing. Not mind blowing. I ultimately wish I ordered a different pizza, but this was good and a something a little different. The salmon was quite tasty. It was well cooked and had a nice flavor. The rice perhaps could've been a little more interesting, but was fine. The lobster mac & cheese was the best dish. It needed a little salt, but overall was very good, flavorful and worth the money. Nice big piece of lobster and gooey mac & cheese, I enjoyed that dish very much! Our server was courteous, honest, and generally pleasant. For some reason it could take a long time when we requested certain items like salt or a refill on our drinks. It's hard to tell if that was our individual server, or if the systems were not working very well in the restaurant overall. Everyone felt great about the service, but it was definitely not perfectly attentive. As I said this is more of the 3.5 than a 3, but it was hard for me to justify a 4. There were too many little things that brought down the experience. Overall though, this is a solid place for a meal with a friendly atmosphere. The hotel it's in is cool too and has some lovely old pieces of industrial equipment that were fun to check out. Worth a stop!

After walking around Rockford and finding everything closed on a Sunday night, we came back to the hotel for dinner. I was a little skeptical based on reviews, but I'm not sure how people could have bad things to say. We started with a couple of drinks - margaritas and mules. The bartender was great! We shared the coconut shrimp appetizer, a hand-tossed pepperoni pizza, and back & bleu pizza. Everything was really good, but the shrimp was AMAZING - seriously, so delicious. Overall, great night!

I enjoyed this restaurant even though the food was more good than great. Very pleasant server who only lagged occasionally. Oddly named "Tower" as located on the lower level. I liked the industrial motif, but felt the tables and chairs needed to be improved. Overall, nice with good food. I would give another try.

We tried it a few weeks ago for the first time and my husband and son swear that this is the best pizza in town!! We went back again last night and had the same results! First time I had the Italian beef and it was flavorful and juicy but the bread... it was crusty and flaky on the outside and fluffy yet dense on the inside. The absolute perfect bread for a juicy sandwich. We also had the lasagna(which I believe is only available on the weekends) and it was fantastic as well. His Grandma's sauce is splendid('Mamma Gulotta's' sold at Woodman's). To top it all off, Nick Gulotta; the owner, chef, order taker, carry out worker(he does it all himself!!!), is just about the nicest person I have ever met. I know some very kind/caring people, but Nick takes the cake. I just can't believe how long it's taken us to try it but am so glad we finally did! Thank you, Nick!! We will keep on coming back as long as you're willing to make us pizza!!

Even though he started to call it quits after an unbelievably long day and evening at work, he open the door, turned on the lights, took our order and is making our pizza! We got our own little room that was just big enough for our booth for 5. Complimentary Bread was delicious Special salad that came with the meals was good- the little pieces of Italian sausage & slices of egg made it better. I had 1/2 lasagna & 1/2 mostaccioli- lasagna was large & delicious. Mostaccioli was just cheap pasta with red sauce dumped on it. Wife had a nice steak w/ a side of fettuccine Alfredo instead of potato that looked very good. Son had just lasagna & his full large portion was enormous but he ate it all. Another son had a fish dinner w side of Alfredo. The last son just ordered the fettuccine Alfredo & added 2 meatballs that weirdly came in a red sauce, he didn't care just dumped it right on top of his Alfredo. A nice touch was-Everybody gets a scoops of ice cream after dinner, they had 5-6 choices. Everything was good-very good I'd recommend the lasagna or fettuccine Alfredo definitely the salad & bread. Negatives would be the only phone reservations & the price is high for just noodles & sauce. Bill was $160 for 5 dinners & 3 lemonades. So after tip around $200

Food: one thing that we really enjoyed were the wings. My god these are some of the best wings I've ever had. I'll be honest I think I like the wings better than the pizza. I've been to this location before or restaurant if you will, but I went to the one I think it was Las Vegas. I think the one in Las Vegas tastes a lot better. This one was good. It was just a little bit different. I'm not sure what was missing here, but it tasted little different. It has been a while since I've had this style of pizza from Las Vegas. I know it. It started in Chicago, but maybe it was just me. Don't get me wrong. The pizza was great. We enjoyed every single bite. We also had some fries with Parmesan cheese on them, which were good. But I have to go back to the wings. If I came back here I would definitely order some wings. Little things like bringing plates, refilling drinks, the service was slow, but I get it. They may have been a little bit busy, but I will definitely come back. No doubt about it I'm getting them five stars because The pizza and wings were solid.
