If I could give Everly Studios 10 stars, I would. Every step of the way, our wedding day was done our way. From our first phone call, Jocelyn really listened to us and understood our vision for our wedding day. She helped us plan an itinerary for the day that was authentic and effortless. On our wedding day, Jocelyn was the only person present, and we wouldn't have it any other way. She was our witness, our hype-woman, and captured every moment of the day along the way. She did the vital job of documenting our special day, but she was also a joy to be with. She made us feel completely at ease with her and her camera. The photos speak for themselves. She fully encompassed our vision of moody, candid, authentic, dramatic shots. We are so proud to show off these pictures, and every person we show is blown away by them. Perhaps more important than the incredible aesthetic of the shots, though, is that she captured us. She captured our energies, our story, and chronicled the best day of our lives. Jocelyn, we cannot thank you enough for documenting our wedding day with your art. To anyone considering elopement photographers, you will be glad you chose Everly Studios!

My husband and I eloped at New York City Hall, just the two of us. We wanted to have a photoshoot…read moreto capture the experience and Everly Studios was one of the first to come up on Google. We met with Jocelyn Voo over Zoom before moving forward with working with her for our special day as our photographer and our witness. Jocelyn was absolutely outstanding for more reasons than one. Firstly, we felt that she really "GOT" us, from start to finish. She listened to our vision (dark, moody, candid, casual, gritty) and as wild as some of our ideas were, she totally leaned in and delivered exactly what we were looking for! Secondly, when you're eloping just the two of you, having a third person present is intimidating; what if it's awkward? What if the vibes are weird? But Jocelyn was an absolute joy to spend time with! I'd go so far as to say that her presence made the day even more special. She asked us about our love story, she joked around with us, and seemed genuinely interested in who we were as people. This also impacted the photos, as you can see how comfortable we are and how much fun we're having. Third, Jocelyn is an expert at her craft, although not pretentiously so. Her website offers so much guidance on how the elopement process works. Her emails with us gave us contacts for who to reach out to for certain steps (We took pictures in the lobby of the Beekman and had to have permission granted; something we certainly wouldn't have known!) Not only did we consider Jocelyn our photographer, but our guide in the process of eloping. She also is an expert in that her photo-taking does not appear obvious! I was worried about having professional pictures taken of me in public, but onlookers barely noticed as Jocelyn very naturally pulled her camera out and snapped pictures. If you are eloping in NYC, there is simply no contest; Jocelyn at Everly Studios is your photographer. You won't regret it, and I genuinely believe our wedding day would not have been as smooth and enjoyable if it weren't for Jocelyn.

I had always noticed the photos she took which adorned the walls of her office at Paramount where she and I had worked together. When she decided to leave her job as an executive at Paramount and pursue photography as her means of livelihood, I had no doubt that she would be a success at that as well as in the entertainment industry. I hired her to shoot my wedding in 1998 and the photos turned out fabulously. If you know me well, you'd know that I almost never like photos of myself :-O and I am a perfectionist. Well, I was extremely happy with the results. Laurie's style of documentary shooting is just stunning in her ability to capture a moment, a thought, and an essence in a single photo. She truly loves her work and it shows in the way she interacts with people whether from behind the camera or on the street. I recommend Laurie's work wholeheartedly! The funniest thing is that the folks who hire Laurie to shoot their weddings, end up hiring her again to shoot their babies photos in a year or two following the wedding! --Judy

I did an inquiry on Yelp well I was laying in the bed late at night and I was surprised to get a immediate response. I was initially looking at another company but the amount of photos that I got with PicVoyage was double the amount for an extra $50. I have never been to to New York and they recommended that I shoot at 9 a.m. in the morning instead of the 3 p.m. that I wanted. I'm so glad I took their advice! She had me download WhatsApp so they can keep in contact with me upon my arrival and with any questions are dream photos I may have wanted. I went on their Instagram account and I fell in love with the shots. The morning of the shoot we met with hazel where she told us to be at at 9 a.m. I promise you this was the best part of my New York visit. She made us feel so comfortable and made the time together so enjoyable that I could have left New York with just my visit with her and felt like the trip was worthwhile!

No, but Sophie created pictures that were appropriate for all occasions but still had a definite pin up flavor. The shoot itself was amazing. Amber Marlowe Blatt is a nice person who needs to find a new line of work…read more I'll post a full review of my experiences with her, but here is the quick summary: - We hired her twice. The first time, she did great work. We were happy. - We hired her again a year later, to take family photos. She did the shoot. She showed me some of the work through the viewfinder and said it was wonderful. And then she called me a week later and told me that she had LOST *ALL* OF THE IMAGES! Gone. Zero. I do marketing for a living and have hired perhaps twenty photographers in my life for over a hundred photo shoots. This is the first time I had ever heard of someone losing the work for a day's session. It just doesn't happen, because it is the ultimate badge of disgrace for a photographer. So what happened? She said she was sharing her studio with some folks doing a different project, they had taken a memory card from her desk, thought it was blank, etc. There are some serious issues here -- why is someone who bills as a professional letting other people grab memory cards from her desk? Why is she selling her time for hundreds of dollars and then pulling the memory card out -- representing not just her efforts but the time and energy a family takes to coordinate schedules and dress the kids -- and then not bothering to push the write protect tab? Why is she shooting on digital media and not bothering to make a copy of the work before charging in on other projects? Or, if she is running to an emergency, can't make a copy, you might at least write on the card with a Sharpie and say "do not use" or write the date of the session or write anything? Anything at all? We could debate this over and over. But someone who can't secure their digital work should not be shooting events for a living. You cannot "redo" a wedding. You cannot "redo" a birthday or bar mitzvah or other major life event. If you care about getting quality work, you should not be hiring this person. So that was the worst phone call ever -- "Hi, it's Amber, whoops, sorry, nothing left." And then, to add insult to injury, she apologized and offered "to do the shoot again without charging us." Are you f'ing serious? That was basically offering nothing. Of course she can't charge us for a second shoot. We had paid for the first shoot, spent our time and energy, and gotten zip out of it. Through her clear and pure incompetence. And then she did the second shoot and the images were poor. We couldn't and didn't use any of them. There were even instances in the second shoot when I said things to her like "are you sure we are centered under the sign" and Amber said yes, yet we were not. Bad image. Same thing with the sunlight -- "are you sure there won't be too much shadow at this time of day?" Amber said we were okay. We were not. She clearly didn't want to do the shoot a second time, or take the time to make it right, when she knew we weren't going to use her again. So -- sorry Amber. Nice person. Needs a new job. Ben
