I always check out the "free walking tours" when I travel because they're always full of great information and local tips. This tour didn't disappoint and I was overjoyed that they had two separate groups, one in English and one in Spanish. Our tour guide, Alonzo was amazing. He seemed very passionate about the history of his country while keeping the group engaged and entertained. He explained some of the cultural things we would see during our travels such as lots of public displays of affection especially in parks or the cafes with legs. I enjoyed the variety of neighborhoods and attractions we visited. The informative history and treatment of Chileans. He strongly recommended visiting the Museum of memory and human rights which I did and it was very eye opening. I loved that we took the subway and I was able to see how the underground transportation worked. I used the trains throughout my travels in Santiago which was very user-friendly. Our tour ended at a local bar where we had a small taste of local wine. Our guide hung around for a few minutes and answered questions. You always meet fellow travelers from all over the world including your home area. I always "tip" the suggested amount or more because their service is always worth that and more! If you're in that Santiago area, definitely check out their morning and/or afternoon tours. You won't be disappointed. read more

Both companies do an excellent job on these "Free Tours." It is easy to tell them apart.....this company wears striped shirts, and their main competition ("Free Walking Tour") wears red shirts. We ended up using "Free Walking Tour Santiago" (red shirts) but would have gladly used this company also. Several times, we crossed paths and noticed they follow the same itinerary and both companies use guides with excellent English skills. read more

Best experience, what a great find!! Very informative, guide José was very approachable and knowledgeable. So much information that I am sure I would not have gotten this real look at the city of Santiago. Had a few real life experiences happen in front of us but our guide handled it well.. pick pocket/thief chased and apprehended. A group of dogs that followed us during a tour and was barking at car. Love the passion, very sincere about his love for Chile. Going to go back tomorrow for another tour. This was exactly what I was looking for, no nonsense walking tour. read more

My husband and I did a tour with Camilo today. It was absolutely fantastic. We did the "offbeat tour," which included going to the local shopping areas, markets and the cemetery. Not only was Camilo extremely knowledgeable, he was also very kind and generous by treating us to a very delicious fried bread in the middle of the tour, as well as a fantastic drink at the end. He is incredibly personable, and certainly knows his history which was extremely informative, but relayed in a very interesting manner. I would highly recommend this tour! read more

I really enjoyed this three hour tour of different neighborhoods in Santiago. Our tour guide was very informative. He told us about political history, architect, the people and we played a game to guess what was legal vs. illegal. We were awarded a tasty chocolate caramel tubular sweet treat for playing the game. My daughter and I enjoyed talking with the other tourists in our group. My friend and I did the morning Tips4Tours Santiago off the beaten path tour, Rodrigo our guide was very knowledgable and had made the entire experience amazing as he was able to not only give you city history and culture but also was able to make you feel like you are living Santiago. We did the Spicy Chile afternoon tour the day before and were not very impressed, the same story that Rodrigo told us the following day sounded so bland and ordinary, but was probably one of the most interesting things in Chilean history. The only reason I gave the tour 4 stars is because I wish we could have stopped for at least 10 minutes to buy some fruit because it all smelled and looked amazing, our hotel was far from the center so it was almost impossible for us to come back to the market to buy anything after. read more

Went on the evening walking tour of Santiago with a guide called Camille. It took approximately 3 hours and she showed historical landmarks, places and explained a bit of the history and politics of Chile. Very interesting and you could tell she had a real passion for the city and it's people. Would definitely recommend this tour. read more
