Seems, the last 5 years or so - a live on stage production does the Switcharoo. All the students (kids)do the producing, directing, choreograph, lights camera and action. All the actors are Adults (playing kids rolls) As in this noted production. A first for us, and a brief questioning of um confusion in seeing, an older gentleman playing the High School all around jock. Ahh I get it (after it was explained to me!) All nicely done, very entertaining, much comradery, appreciation and thank yous said and a particularly high energy spirit in the audience. (see pix) Seems that the lead performer was hospitalized for needed heart surgery and the stand in did so on short notice performed beautifully. They even had a collection for the Heart association. The evening before, on Friday there were some different actors and performers and crew putting on the show. Some were in the audience on Saturday. One young man named Joe, along with friends, sat behind us and were doing the dance moves. Others in the audience were clapping, and cheering their approval with much positive energy. Seeing it all and taking it in, it was a refreshing change and overall, it was, FUN.

It's difficult sitting in a room all day long and he aimed to make the class as interactive as possible. We covered BLS in the beginning of the class as a refresher as there were a few people in the class who needed to renew their BLS and who likely had not taken BLS in quite some time. He moved quickly through that and then onto ACLS. There were about six people in the class and he had each of us come up one by one to be the leader in an critical scenario. That part was slightly nerve-wracking, especially standing up in front of strangers but he guided you through each scenario, gave you the resources prior to the mock code that you needed in order to be successful and gave positive reinforcement after each skit. This class had a ton of information crammed into 6 hours so at the end, the test was way too lengthy in my opinion to perform well on and it was incredibly ambiguous. It felt like the NCLEX all over again. There were right answers, but there there was a more right answers, allegedly. A 50 question exam after a 6 hour long class is too much. Of course there needs to be an exam to determine whether or not you've passed the course but the questions weren't great and 50 is too many. Definitely learned a lot during this course especially regarding how to push emergency medications and the importance of closed loop communication. The book was absolutely useless throughout the course but now that it's over, I'm thankful to have it as a resource.

Renowned for its rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and diverse student body. Founded in 1933 by the Franciscan Brothers, Saint Anthony's has a long-standing tradition of nurturing students from across Long Island, drawing families who value both educational quality and moral formation. I had the pleasure of witnessing firsthand, for the second time, how this school dedicates significant attention to our children's education, well-being, and discipline. These are elements that are crucial for balancing the growth of young children. It is truly an impressive institution that prioritizes holistic development. The principal, Brother David, speaks very well and clearly demonstrates intelligence, passion, and worldly wisdom. His leadership reflects the school's commitment to fostering a strong sense of community, faith, and academic achievement. Saint Anthony's High School highlights the importance of education, athletics, and spiritual growth, welcoming students regardless of their specific faith background, whether Catholic or other religions. It stands as a remarkable example of a school that values both academic and moral development, preparing students to succeed in all aspects of life.

There's a memorial statue of Jesus Christ outside of St. Anthony's that I pass by almost every day…read more And nearly every time I see it, it's covered in dirt and left unclean, as if it were just another object instead of a symbol of our Savior. It's heartbreaking to witness, especially from a Catholic school that is supposed to be built on honoring Christ in every way. This isn't just about a statue, it's about reverence. That memorial is meant to reflect the love, sacrifice, and presence of Jesus, yet it's consistently neglected. For a school that carries His name, this lack of care sends a message that directly contradicts the values it claims to teach. When something so symbolic is left in that state, and when attempts to bring attention to it are met with cold and dismissive attitudes, it raises a serious concern: Are we really honoring Him the way we should? A Catholic school should be a living reflection of Christ, in its words, its actions, and even in the way it tends to something as sacred as His image. This is not written out of criticism, but out of a deep hope that someone in leadership will take this seriously. Because Jesus deserves more than just a place on the property, He deserves to be honored in how that space is cared for, every day.
