Tour 18 may be attempting to upgrade their course, but the current state of things is an absolute mess--and frankly, a safety risk. Yes, some areas are beginning to look nice, but that doesn't cover for the major issues plaguing the experience: * Bunkers - The newly "refurbished" bunkers are so overloaded with sand, you can sink knee-deep. They're completely unplayable. Others are still just holes in the ground, marked as ground under repair, forcing players to pull the ball and move on. This isn't a minor renovation inconvenience--it's half a course under construction with full-price green fees. * Cart Paths - The excessive sand from bunker work is destroying the cart paths, which are already cracked and broken throughout the course. They've just bought new carts, and the paths are tearing them up. My cart rattled so much it felt like the front end was about to fall off. Some paths are so degraded they pose a legitimate safety hazard. * Walkers on the Course - This is a serious liability. Residents from the neighborhood are walking the course during active golf hours. We've seen them on multiple holes, casually strolling across fairways while people are playing. It's only a matter of time before someone gets hit. And if you do hit someone, guess what--you're liable. This is negligence on the part of course management, and it needs to be addressed immediately. * GPS and Mapping Issues - The cart GPS systems are wildly inaccurate. Pin locations are wrong--cart says center, but flag is back left. T-boxes are never where the GPS expects them to be, so distance measurements are unreliable. It's a guessing game with every club selection. This isn't my first complaint about Tour 18. In the past, I've called out the condition of the fairways and greens--and to their credit, some of that has improved. But this round of "improvements" is being executed without regard for playability, safety, or value. Until they get serious about finishing the job and protecting both golfers and pedestrians, I would not recommend playing here. And if you do, bring patience, a first aid kit, and maybe a liability waiver for when the walkers step into your tee shot. read more

If you know golf then you know TOUR 18 is the best 18 Holes in the world. Golf course obviously is extremely challenging and if you're not a single digit handicap you'll probably be in the hundreds. We were very disappointed to see the condition of Tour 18. Terrible fairways, broken cart paths, flooded sand traps, broken carts, overall looks like a course with little or no maintenance. Tour 18 was a great public course 10 years ago, Club staff and gated community property owners deserve better. We wanted to ask for $240 refund but feel sorry for the staff. Course was in great condition considering that things are still continuing green up in DFW. The reason I am giving a low rating has to do with our group being warned multiple times throughout the round for a slow pace of play although we were waiting on the group ahead of us for every shot, although they were open ahead of them and would not let us play through. We apologized to the group behind us multiple times in which they were also aware the problem was ahead of us. When discussing with the marshal that was persistent on telling us to speed up, he kept saying our group was the issue and would continue to the next hole and wait for us. I brought this up to the clubhouse after our round was complete, and all they had to say was "yeah, I know who you are talking about" and "that happens pretty frequently out here." I would love to give this course a higher rating, but it is hard to do so when you are playing an entire round with a target on your back for no reason and the clubhouse has no explanation besides basically saying oh well. read more

A co-worker and I traveled to Dallas for business and decided to try this course even though the reviews were mixed. Turning onto the property we drove between mansions... 6000ft2+, 6-car garages ... some looked like Tara (GWTW). The course was in good condition except for some of the bunkers and greens. The sand was not conditioned and some were bereft of sand making for inconsistent play. The greens were bumpy even their speed was good. We rented clubs and that was a major disappointment for me... the Titleist set (AP1) didn't have a full set of wedges and the settings of the TS2 driver were way off from standard. No sand wedge made for interesting choices in the inconsistent bunkers. The wind was blowing 20mph+ which added to our challenge. My co-worker played well for 8 holes but the Sawgrass 17th (our 9th) got him. I had trouble with tee shots due to the length and weight of the driver so it was a long day for me. We liked the course and would like to play it with our own clubs. Guarded recommendation due to the bunkers and rental clubs. If you play with your own clubs I think you will enjoy this course. read more

They clearly do not care anymore but the audacity to charge $85 on a weekday is what really gets me. I've been to Tour 18 multiple times since January. I've enjoyed it, the course is challenging and I'm able to play some classic holes that I've watched the pros play my whole life. After today I will never come back to Tour 18. For starters, me and my buddy had a tee-time at 12:20, we show up at 12:15, check in load up the cart and head up to the first tee. We get there and there's already a group at the first tee, the starter waves me over to him and starts bitching at me how I'm super late and that he was going to give away my tee time to the people behind me, I look down at my phone and it's 12:21... I look at the starter and I say "I'm 1 minute late? you can let these guys play if they were here first" but he waves me off like i'm scum and I tee off. Secondly, the course was in an absolutely awful condition, 17/18 of the holes had unplayable bunkers that have been severely washed out, and i'm not just talking like it rained hard yesterday, like it's been washed out over and over again for months. Third, we weren't able to play the 5th hole because it was being completely renovated, and I still paid full price. Lastly, our round took SIX HOURS!!!!!! It took us 6 hours to get through 18 holes. on every tee box there was up to 3 groups waiting once we got there. We called up to the club house and asked if we could get a marshall to maybe speed everything up, and they said they couldn't do anything. After everything, I go into the club house and ask for a refund and they tell me to go fuck myself. Worst of all I paid $235 just to wanna commit. You can come play here, the course can be fun, but just know you'll have the worst golf experience anyone can provide. Tour 18, you just lost a loyal customer. read more

Pros: Course was well laid out and enjoyed the copies of all the famous holes. Facilities were great. Cons: Conditions were not good. Large dry and bare hard pan areas on all the back 9 fairways and most of the front. I had to get relief from the middle of fairways, ridiculous. Bunkers were terrible. I think there was one bunker that was actually playable. Tee boxes also dry and bad shape. Played once. Will not play again. Conditions were about an average public course in TX summer. This sounded like a dream come true. Play 18 of the most exciting PGA tour holes in golf, all on one course/ track. Great idea, right. Well, this is close. A great idea with the wrong maintenance group taking care of the grounds. For the price, I was expecting a bit more beauty. Don't get me wrong, the course was nice and tough but the greens were not in the best shape. Some greens were, what you would expect on a cheap public course., patchy and not taken care of. The bunkers, well, let's just say terrible. Very little sand in most of them. Soft Pan in some. Hard pan in others. Church pews all had ok sand in them. I know. I ended up in some. Fairways and tee boxes were great. So there is hope. The staff, well, they were ok. I guess getting up at 6am on Sunday isn't fun. I get it. Anyway, the track was nice and challenging. I'm glad we went and played. I had a good time. I hope they take a little better care of this place before they lose the greens. I would play again and I can recommend you play, especially if you only have one day you can play while in this area. If you want pristine, this is not it but close. read more

This is an overpriced course in poor condition. First let me start by saying I'm an 11 handicap. By no means am I a great player but good enough to know a good or bad course. I played on a holiday Monday today and it was $107. I don't mind paying $100 if it is worth it, but Tour 18 is NOT worth this money. The course itself is in terrible condition for what they charge. The fairways are average. They are painted green to make them look good. There are fairways with random mud spots on them because of poor drainage/maintenance. Some of the areas off the fairways are nothing but mud and it hasn't rained in 2 weeks. The greens are bumpy and have a lot of problems. They play fast, which is fine, but the heavy bumps are magnified with this. The bunkers are in rough shape. Some are pretty nice sand and others are dried up dirt. Pace of play is terrible. It was a 4 hour and 45 min round. This is common for this course. At best this course is 2 stars. But given the price, I give it 1. If I had to put a price on it, I would only pay $50-55 to play here. I will never golf here again because there are many other options at this price with much better course maintenance. read more

I've been playing golf since I was a kid. I learned to play on a course that used to be a cattle farm and I must say that the condition of the greens at Tour 18 in Flower Mound are the absolute worst I've ever played. The owner needs to bite the bullet and close the course for 6-8 weeks this summer and reseed these. It's robbery to charge full greens fees for these and even worse, nobody bothered to mention it when we checked in. It's not like we wouldn't notice that grass was missing from entire areas of putting surface. Don't waste your time going to this travesty of a golf course. read more

Having played this course twice before, this has always been on our list when visiting Dallas. This time, however, we couldn't have been more disappointed. The ladies set of rental clubs were 18 years old and in terrible (filthy) shape, yet we were charged FULL PRICE as is it were a new set. We were not informed that the driving range was closed or that it was cart path only. The bunkers were filled with rain water and were caving in so it made play impossible. The bathroom didn't have soap in the dispenser, the restaurant had dead bugs on the window sills and NO ONE wore a mask, either in the pro shop or the restaurant Suffice it to say, we will be hard pressed to ever play here again. read more

The course is interesting but appears to have lost its way. Its in TERRIBLE shape!!! The fairway traps are all weed. It hasnt been watered in months apparently. Awful grass it's basically a dirt track. Indian creeks and westridge are in amazing shape for 1/2 the price. No gps on carts this expensive is a travesty. I played Tour 18 with five guests today. The course was in good condition. The pro shop staff team was friendly, particularly Brandon. The shocking part to me was rude cart girl Tiffany and Erica at the bar. Both staff members acted indifferent about service. They won't be good employees at any service job if they think a bad attitude is the way to serve. No kidding the cart girl acted like she was doing us a favor getting Powerade out of the cart. I asked about sandwiches or hotdogs at the turn ( the outside turn stand was closed). It took 20 minutes to make turkey sandwiches. We waited for 20 minutes at the turn. This is not acceptable. When I asked Erica what the problem was she looked at me LIKE I WAS THE PROBLEM. I believe bad service stems from bad hiring and bad management. The front 9 was a fantastic experience, particularly the island green on 9. And I'm absolutely willing to overlook some rough greens here and there, it's hard to fight through a punishing Texas summer. That said, on holes 12-17 the greens are completely unplayable. And when I showed a picture of the disaster, they were totally embarrassed and apologetic and gave me a card for a free round... for any Monday through Thursday only though and it expires in October lol. Tour 18 is a challenging layout with narrow fairways due to out of bounds and sand traps that surrounding the course. The landscape on holes 16-18 was beautiful. Be careful for the green on hole 12 because there is a trap right in the center. Most of the greens were small and not in as great condition as the rest of the course. Most bunkers were inconsistent because some were white and fluffy while others were hard or muddy. This is a fun course to play if you have patience and precision. Side note: get the green golf carts because they're electric opposed to the white, gas powered carts. read more

Don't waste your money! This course is in serious need of maintenance. The "sand traps" were gravel pits and mud holes. They had recently mowed and had not done so in awhile because you could have baled the clippings. Club house and it's exterior grounds need serious cleaning and freshening up. For the type of club this is trying to be the Golf carts should have the GPS capability. The staff was friendly and that is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. read more

For anyone curious how tour 18 plays since the reopen here's the update. Tee to green the course is in good shape which you would expect after closed down all summer. The issue is the greens are thin and bumpy. I can't pay full retail green fee if the greens don't roll. Tour 18 is the real deal. I have watch PGA golf for over 20 years and fantasize and dreamed about playing some of these magnificent courses but knowing I would never have the opportunity to. This course brings all those holes to one course. It lets you feel how the pros feel. Please do not be mistaken that this is a easy reptile course this course is the real deal. If you did not know where you're at you wpuld swear that you were at Augusta National or any of those courses when you were standing on the Tee Box. Once again I want to tell you this is not a cheap replica this is like the real things from the sand and the greens to the grass for each hole in that location it is amazing. The course was in nice shape today. Greens were very tight and took a wackin' to get the ball to roll fast enough. Wasn't impressed by the food though. It was a really over priced dry as a bone sandwich and some chips out of a bag and no cart girl running drinks around. But it was a Tuesday. Since I didn't come here to eat and did come here to play golf that is what I am really rating. I docked a star because the waitress at the bar was slow as slow can get with very few customers.
