They don't have set hours of operation, so if you go they might not be open. The food is inconsistent as well.

I was worried because the last couple of reviews were all bad and it seems they've had a change of ownership within the last year. They used to be called south Philly & hoagies or something like that then south Philly and schwarma king, and now it's south Philly & Grill(Established in 2025) I can't speak to the reviews about how they're never open when they say because I went at 3:30 but I ordered a Philly cheese with provolone and I thought it was great! I'm by no means a cheesesteak coinnosoir but the steak was nice, juicy, and packed with flavor. I can tell they probably marinade the meat which is good. Could've had a bit more cheese but overall I was satisfied. The bread they use is from a brand in Philly called Amoroso's and it soaks up the flavors really well. I can tell it would get soggy if left too long but I ordered it and ate it within 10 minutes. Would I get it again? Absolutely. I give it 5 stars for how much I liked the flavor of the sandwich and my likelihood of returning. Keep in mind this is not a 5 stars on a scale of ALL the cheesesteaks I've ever had. I'd say that scale it's a solid 3

The waitress we had was very kind and welcoming and bubbly with conversation. My family were all very pleased with their food, which consisted of bbq wings, lemon pepper boneless wings, a Reuben sandwich and fries and chicken fingers and fries. The only negative I have to say is I ordered a Greek salad without feta and the amount of dressing and oil was beyond an acceptable amount that I wasn't able to eat it all or even half. By the time I ate through the top layer of lettuce the entire bowl was wilted and drowning in oil. So my advice would be stay away from the salad and just enjoy the heartier options.

This becomes an issue when close to ten minutes and multiple staff pass by with no acknowledgment. I went to stop someone walking by in order to get a table. To be fair, they were busy, but I'm not sure that warrants crickets at front of house. We were sat at a wet table that smelled of wet rag and at this point, seriously considered leaving. Being hungry and seeing how busy it was, we decided to stay. Our server was seasoned and friendly. Our drinks took a while and as we reviewed the ever confusing menu, we decided to order some alcoholic drinks. Drinks arrived and we had to step out front quickly. I found our server and let her know we had to step out, but would be right back. She said no problem. When we came back about three minutes had passed and our table was cleared. She brought us our drinks again and took our order. We ordered the crazy bread and the pepperoni pockets as an appetizer. The only thing crazy about the bread was the cost. It otherwise compared to dominos. The pepperoni pockets were very good! I ordered a spinach gourmet calzone and my partner got the sun-dried tomato pizza. The calzone was as described on the menu. That said, I longed for the calzones of NYC with heaps of ricotta, mozzarella and spinach sautéed in olive oil, onion and fresh garlic. What I got was essentially a cheese bread with a hat on. Chunks of unseasoned tomatoes, fresh unseasoned spinach and mozzarella cheese-that's it. No seasoning of any kind, outside of the charred taste that all the items had from the oven itself. The sauce had a sweetness to it and this also was just...a far cry from what I'm used to. He said his pizza was cooked well, but lacked flavor. They're in business a long time, so something is going right. However, for me, it missed the mark on all levels. At the end of the day, you go out to eat for the food, the food here was less than Sysco quality. We won't return.

I ordered him a pepper philly and she had follow up questions so I looked back down at the menu to see the options. (Again, we've never been here before) The lady said, "That's why you don't go to the bathroom when you're ordering. I have a lot of questions." I just laughed it off because I thought she was joking. Food: definitely don't get the gyro. There was barely any meat on it. Mostly lettuce (which doesn't belong on a gyro anyway) everything else was fine, but not worth the 4-5 stars given by other patrons. Also, the soda was flat and the only diet option had no syrup. On our way out, my husband dropped the basket into the garbage but grabbed it as it fell, so it didn't get thrown out and this miserable older lady goes "can't you read the damn sign?" Why yes, we did see your unprofessional hand written sign about people throwing your cheap baskets away and threatening to raise prices. As if you weren't over priced as it is. Never again. Save your money and go well.. anywhere else. The mall is close by and has a Charley's. lol

Before I even got my food, I had a great interaction with Mercedes at the counter. She was genuinely friendly, easy to talk to, and didn't rush the moment, which set a really positive tone right away. I ordered a cheesesteak with everything on it, and when it came out, it was clear they don't cut corners here. The sandwich was fully loaded from one end to the other, with finely chopped steak that was juicy and well seasoned. The cheese was melted throughout instead of just sitting on top, so every bite had that same balanced flavor. Even with all the toppings, nothing felt overwhelming, and the bread held everything together without falling apart. It also came with fries, which were hot and crispy, and I paired everything with a peach Crush. That combination worked really well, especially with how rich the cheesesteak was. Between the quality of the food and the customer service, this is an easy recommendation. If you are craving a cheesesteak and want something that actually feels worth it, this spot is a solid choice. The ambience was just simple. It gave a mom and pop shop vibe, I love it.

This is the real deal: thin-sliced ribeye chopped on the griddle with perfect browning, Cooper Sharp melting like it's supposed to, fresh Amaroso rolls flown in from Philly that actually have the right chew and crust. Place is small, family-run local business. If you grew up in the Philly burbs or just know what a proper cheesesteak is supposed to taste like, do yourself a favor and get over to Winter Garden.
