Had my domestic vehicle, Ford Escape, 2008, towed there for re-attach of dislocated 'Serpentine Belt' which detached during the recent Ice Storm on start up. At the time, March 1/23, "Steve" had all three of his Bays filled with three vehicles and told me at the time of the towed arrival of my vehicle and me it would be four hours before he could make a needed auto hoist available before he could do the work. I Explained I'm disabled but would walk three blocks to Giant Tiger to a bit of needed shopping, return and wait. Forty minutes later I returned to notice my vehicle was no longer parked in the spot the tow truck driver of 'Robbins' towing service was not there. Euro Mobil owner and master mechanic, pulled-Straight-out - one of the three hoisted vehicles with no steering ("blown hydraulic steering line") and brought my vehicle in during the forty minutes I was away. "Steve" came out of the bays to say smiling - I'm working on your vehicle now. NO FOUR OUR WAIT ! Charged me forty dollars and would Not take ten dollar tip!! Just asked that in future, as with all his customers, bring your vehicle, register the problem and leave the vehicle for the day. A very-kind Man and master mechanic and low prices!! As I was on my way up to the Northern part of Ontario I had to stop at home and diagnose the problem. I was so upset that I bought transmission fluid instead of radiator fluid as both were red in colour and I thought I'd fix the problem myself. The next day when I had realized and read the bottle I was even angrier at no one but myself for being so smart. I looked up an automotive repair shop that was within driving distance and was offering to look at my car the next day. Long story short, Dave & the dudes flushed my radiator clean of the transmission fluid and not only that the did an oil change fixed my front brakes and charged me a very reasonable cost for their time on my vehicle. This automotive mechanic shop is few and far between with their expertise & professionalism from the time you enter their door til the time you race off in your fixed vehicle. Dave's a dude and the guys working for him have the know how on most all makes and models. That's why I keep going back and would recommend Total Automotive to anyone that wants to save a dollar and have reliable experts and parts installed on any make or model. The drain plug is stripped and it is not an inexpensive fix. I suggest you go back and see if they will take care of you." Upon my return after explaining my situation, not only was the owner rude and shouting from his office desk, he refused to even look at my vehicle saying, "How do I know that I was the last shop to work on it? You have 24 hours to complain after a job..." Looks like my 25 dollar oil change is going to cost me a new 800 dollar oil pan change. I was more than a little upset when leaving. I really…read moreonly ended up at this tire shop because it was beside the transportation ministry office I updated my address at. This place has been absolutely great to do business with. Their prices seem extremely fair, the staff are very friendly, helpful and seem very knowledgeable. I had taken one vehicle I had recently purchased to them to have them supply and install a set of winter tires (which turned out to be the quietest and most comfortable winter boots I've had) and had them store the OE set for the remainder of the year. The storage rate was very fair as well, and they ensured the existing debris was washed away before they stored them! 1 new winter tire did need minor rebalancing, but not only did they ensure they accommodated me at my convenience, they spun the remaining 3 as an extra measure. I've since returned with that vehicle, as well as a second car to have the summer sets remounted and both sets of winters stored. Again, very friendly, helpful and fair-priced on both of those occasions as well. There is one fellow that works at the front counter, that I met on my 2nd visit that seemed very defensive/nervous/stressed, but I have been in retail most of my adult life, and specifically in the automotive industry so I just chalked it up to a bad day, night before thing and am glad that mannerism didn't deter me from going back, the rest of the staff are so friendly and professional it easily made up for that one visit. You honestly cannot go wrong to visit these folks, in my opinion.

And the saga begins. My son was driving home from Burlington after picking up his brother from the…read morehospital. Of course, on the way back, near St. Catharines, his car had issues. Called S&W Towing. They took it to their service centre. He agreed to let them check it out, and they came back saying they could fix it. Great. He picks it up, and it's still rough driving. They say it's all good, just needs to be driven. (he knows nothing about cars and believes that they say) On the way home, it gets worse, but he makes it back to Port Colborne. This is on a Friday, Monday comes, and he calls, they arrange to have the car towed back to their shop. Wonderful, not so much. They now tell him he needs a sensor so they can determine the cause. Days go by, and a week later, he picks up the car again.. Guess what.. still not running right.. I suggest he take it to my repair shop. They check it out and it's the transmission.... So after forking out 2000 bucks to S&W, who say it's all good.. (_what the ???) he still needs to get the original issue fixed.. The moral of the Story, do not go to S&W auto repair, I have serious doubts if they know what they are doing, or if they do, they just took advantage of someone who is a good person.
