I found this company on Groupon. Before purchasing I talked to Hannah on the phone to get an idea of additional charges, she spelled it all out for me, very friendly and straight forward. My technician, Adam was very honest with me. Once he started cleaning the vents he informed be that they were in fact pretty clean and doing the rest of the system would be unnecessary, saving me $200! This a unique and rare level service. I'm very surprised by the reviews before mine. I had nothing but a wonderful experience! The owner himself came (today, a holiday weekend) and was to clean our air ducts. They take before and after pictures so you can see the work they've done. He took photos and showed us that the ducts were actually very clean already. I had talked to him about adding on the dryer vent and he offered to subtract the cost of the groupon from the cost of cleaning the dryer vent. Everything was explained clearly in the groupon and when I called to schedule the woman I spoke to made sure I understood the terms of the groupon. I am very pleased with the work done. I'm very mixed about this company. We purchased their air duct cleaning Groupon for $39, which included one cold air return and, I think something like, 16 vents. Don't fool yourself into thinking this is a bargain! Apparently, you need a whole lot more, than this, to get your air ducts cleaned. I spent an additional $165 and I didn't add on anything fancy... Just the standard stuff. The guy who came was very nice, however. And their customer service was nice, so no qualms there. I just feel a little bit bamboozled and ripped off. read more

I did the groupon special too and the guys came over and tried to do the HARD SELL telling me that it doesn't include the main duct and the furnace needs cleaning too (without even looking at the furnace) for and addl $150. I purchase a Groupon from this company after checking the website to make sure they would service my area. I live further out from the city an am well aware that some vendors choose not to travel so far for services. Their website and the Groupon said they did service my county. I called to make an appointment and never received a return call. When I called a week later to make an appointment I received a call back. The first thing the man said was that they would not honor my Groupon because of where I lived. He explained that they only service "part" of my county and they would only come to my residence if I purchase a full cleaning package (apparently not what the Groupon was for). We had some a lot of black dust in the air at our place that was a result of vents that hadn't been cleaned for over ten years. They were able to clean them all very quickly and efficiently. Above all, the guy they sent to clean them, James, was fantastic. He was very courteous if he needed anything moved and always asked if he was going to move something of ours. He communicated well about what he was doing and what the positive effect would be which made me feel much better about the whole experience. read more

I bought a coupon for these guys on Living Social. I bought the one for 3 rooms of wall to wall, but we only have three area rugs. I then asked to throw in a couch and a chair; they said they'd do it for 49.00. When the guy got here, he told be there was a charge for each individual cushion, so it ended up being 90. And remember, we didn't even get the value of three rooms to begin with because of the area rugs. Later, we found out when he cleaned the carpets, he didn't even move any furniture to get the whole thing. Half of one of our carpets is still filthy. Also he couldn't have been here more than an hour. Next time, I'll rent a carpet shampooer. Huge waste of money. read more

Had totally clean in today, not only did they call and remind me they were coming- I got a curtesy call when they were on the way. Which I find so helpful! We purchased the group on- and were told that for the additional furnace, and cold air returns that were not include were going to cost extra, after the quote and discussion- we decided to go with the whole shebang. They were in and out in 2 hours give or take, and did a great job! The owner was very personable, and was a strait shooter. I do wish I could have shopped around a little for a lower price, but other than that it was everything we needed and super convenient! read more

I started a review on this company and apparently it was way too long to post, so here's the short and not-so-sweet review: Like other reviewers, I bought the Groupon and felt pretty misled with the offerings. Looked at other companies that were cheaper and Ben at Totally Clean reassured me that I would get the best service from them for the price we were paying ($400 including the Groupon voucher, which was $100 over EVERY other company). Positives to the experience: 1) James the technician was extremely nice and helpful. 2) Our ducts are hopefully clean (I still haven't gotten the before and after pictures from Totally Clean or the technicians). Negatives to the experience: 1) Although John the technician was nice, he showed up late, in an oversized black hoodie and in his own car. Not a good representation of the company, at all. 2) When a speaker wire was pulled out of the wall, the technician didn't say anything about it. Had my boyfriend not been home and witnessed it, he would have come home to a broken sound system. Talk about integrity, huh?! 3) The Groupon is misleading. There are companies on Groupon who want to provide ACTAUL deals in order to build their clientele and obtain great reviews/recommendations, and then there are companies who use Groupon to get consumers to purchase their insufficient deal, only to lead them to a higher costing price tag. Totally Clean is the latter. 4) Ben was made aware of the accident with the speaker wires and offered up the help of the technicians to repair it. This is easier said than done, especially with old plaster walls and vents. I'm not one for hand-outs, but we were promised a positive experience for $400, and instead, we were left trying to fix the situation when we should not have needed to supervise the work being done. I believe customer service to be the main artery of a business, and unfortunately, Ben needs some work. I told him how upset my boyfriend was about the sound system (because let's face it ladies, these guys NEED their sound system or no one's happy) and literally got a snarky reply of "well, that's why you don't run wires through the vents. It's an easy fix but not the smartest". Well no shit, Sherlock! Had these wires not already been here when we bought the house, we wouldn't have even bothered with busting out the walls to put them in. We simply used what was already in place, but thank you for the teaching session, Ben. Anyway... Ben had called us back the next day to get more information about billing, and was so kind as to ask us if we had fixed the wiring for the sound system (insert sarcasm here). I laughed, as if he was going to do something if I said no...? Regardless, it's over and we've found an easy fix for the problem, but it was the principal behind the crappy customer service that pissed me off. 5) They tell you they're going to clean everything up when they're done. HA!! No... they don't. My basement was trashed, my rooms had clumpy dust bunnies all over (that apparently couldn't get vacuumed up with the rest of the crud?), and there was debris over all horizontal surfaces. Be prepared to clean up after them!! 6) What REALLY got to me, was that I have an art table down in the basement where I keep some canvases, art supplies, etc. I had some canvas artwork I had recently done laying on the table. I came downstairs to see this GIANT drill bit they use for the vents laying ON TOP of my artwork... CANVAS artwork. Was there not enough space ANYWHERE ELSE to lay down this huge drill bit?! At that point, I was checked out. I had given this company and its employees the benefit of the doubt for literally every poor experience up until this point but this sent me over the edge. Once the technicians left, we were just pleased to have the experience done and over with. So overall, I'm not 100% pleased. I'm about 20% pleased. Directly on the website it states, "Customer Service is our #1 Priority; Highest Quality of Service; Most Competitive Pricing". I wouldn't say that any of these are accurate, by anyone's standards. If I had to do this all over again, I would go with a different company. In fact, someone from our neighborhood website posted asking about duct cleaning services. She will not be getting a recommendation for Totally Clean, and I would advise everyone to look elsewhere. read more

Bought a Groupon for these guys. Scheduled an appointment for 9-11 AM. They called the day before and said the lines in one of their trucks froze and they would be here between 10 and 12. OK. No problem. Then I get a call at 11:55 and they give me the same song and dance. He will be here soon. I ask how long and they say about a half hour. At 1:30 the guy shows up. I call and ask for a discount for my inconvenience. They say they can give me a "small" discount. I didn't see any discount on the bill after he was done. Never again. read more
