I really enjoyed this.....WAREHOUSE of quality alcohols. I was in the market for a nice and real bottle of Champaign to celebrate a special event. I found what I was looking for. One thing I will say off the top is this place is huge. You can easily get lost here. There were tasting stations to try different drinks and walls and walls of bottles. At one point I just stood in front of the Champaign section tempted to just raise my hand like I was on school because I was just so...lost. A man walking by with a walkie talkie greeted me and asked if I was doing ok. I didn't know what else to do so I showed him a picture of what I was looking for. He immediately said "oh..the (name of nice Champaign)". He grabbed an employee and told that employee where it was. The nice stuff is behind locked glass up front. Super awesome. Just knew. Customer service was great. Everything was great. Very very friendly. Solid 5 stars for me. I'll be back if I'm in need of some nice bubbly. read more

Every year, we order a keg for our family party. We order our kegs well over a month in advance, for plenty of time to get the one we want. This is the second year in a row, that someone has switched our keg on us and we did not receive the proper keg. One time, whatever, but now twice? It gets better... They weren't much help. All they said is it happens all the time and acted like it was completely normal. They offered 20% off a keg we didn't even want and probably won't drink... great! Highly recommend not allowing customers around the ordered kegs, if this happens as often as you guys say. Just a suggestion... Will def be ordering elsewhere from now on. read more

This neighborhood friendly T-Wubs of Puyallup, Washington... is what it's all about... great customer service and even better selection of spirits, wine and more.... I've probably been in over a dozen times and each experience is a great one. I don't live in the area but visit friends once or twice a year and one of my favorite things to do is tag along via daily tastings, stock up on "life essentials" or see a friendly face. The isles are very organized, the entire store is clutter and dust free and everything relatively easy to find. If you need it, they've got.... really enjoy the rewards program as well... for some reason I have two memberships... probably means I'm a total wine addict... but there's no better place to be a fan of in terms of the adult beverage industry. read more

I don't give five stars lightly but this place deserves every one of them. They have a huge selection of almost every wine, beer and hard liquor known to man and a staff able to tell you about each and every one of them. They have wine tastings on selected dates, usually on Saturday, and they also have reserve tastings for members. All you need to do is give them your phone number, they put you in their system and as you purchase you earn points which gets you invited to events and you receive cards and emails with discounts. My only complaint is that we live in tacoma and the closest one is Federal Way so I have to plan visits. they have said they're coming our way but now say there are no more expansions planed for next year. I go to this place mostly for their beer selection which is pretty good. The other day I stopped by for a couple of bottles of bourbon for gifts around $100. I had complied a list of the top 10-15 in this price range. I asked one of their workers about any of these bottles. They had none. This person then stated that the bourbon in that price range goes to their Bellevue store and that the Puyallup store gets shortchanged. Pretty disappointing. read more

I've gone to the Puyallup Total Wine and more several times looking for wines from a specific countries or for a specific grape and the staff, without fail, have been knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Each time I've come away with a new wine I've never tried before and have loved each one. Total Wine & More locations always have a great selection, decent prices and a helpful and knowledgeable staff. I enjoy shopping at these stores for those reason, however the Puyallup location is not enforcing the mask mandate for their employees. I understand it being difficult to enforce that kind of thing for patrons but the staff should certainly be wearing them during Washington's emergency order and a local spike in Covid. I made my stop as quick as I could when I saw several staff members wearing their masks down around their necks, one employee was even coughing without a mask on. It just isn't a good look. I know what it's like to wear a mask all day, it isn't necessarily nice, but it isn't hard. With numbers currently at an all-time high, it's disappointing to see this business not doing their part. I've held off giving a review because I shop here weekly but today was my last time.... pros: great selection, friendly service Cons: We are in a crazy times- masks are mandatory! The management does not regulate employees wearing masks properly (over nose and mouth), employees are regularly seen pulling their masks down to talk to each other and customers, and one team member was wearing an eye shield upside down as a "mask". Today our cashier had her mask under her nose, rubbed her nose with her gloved hands and then continued to bag our purchases. Even in regular times- gross. Employees do not social distance at all from each other or customers. Pre-Covid: I have attended wine events where the classes were "over booked" (despite having a max seating capacity that could be signed up for online) and more seats and tables are just added so it gets quite crowded- I'm all about the more the merrier but it's a small room and it is supposed to be an exclusive event with limited seats. Everyone is very nice but the person giving the presentation is only knowledgeable about wine and never the cheese/chocolate pairing. Overall, we were grand reserve members so it's a free night out but I would never pay for this. read more

I used to shop at Total Wine & More, but never again. Yesterday I witnessed a manager berate two employees for saying hi to each other. The way she spoke to those young people left me incredibly upset. I have never been so appalled. It was as if she wasn't speaking to her servants. I went in for the first time this month to get a bunch of wine for a party. I bought one bottle of La Vie En Rosè. I hung onto it for about 3 weeks and we drank some I thought it smelled off. When we went for seconds we poured our glasses and realized there was junk floating around at the bottom of the bottle. We threw away what was in our glasses then I thought to take photos of the stuff in the bottle. I plan on calling and complaining. I remember asking a girl that helped me if they carried cheese and meats and she said no because they were going bad before people bought them. So this makes me think it somehow got bad for sitting on the shelves for a long time. Makes me feel disgusting just thinking of what it is. Like mold or something. Yuck!!! Went in today to reserve a keg for a reception I was having in three weeks. Had a few questions about ordering a full size keg. He said it would be 179.00... for Mac and Jacks. I knew that was super cheap for a full size keg. I questioned what he was telling me and this guy had some sort of chip on his shoulder and said that's a half sized keg and you won't ever find a full sized keg anywhere. If I'm going to be spending a good amount of money on kegs you would think this old guy would be happy to answer any questions I had for a sale. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

So I'm 20 years old and I can go in with my mom while she gets her wine and she can buy it no problem, no questions asked. BUT if I go in with my HUSBAND then they suddenly ask to see both IDs and give us a hard time ask us to leave. Mind you I'm visually 9 months pregnant also so it just adds to the total dumbness of that situation. They said "well yea that's your mother" ya so??? Don't get me wrong, I love total wine and the selection they offer. I love it so much that sometimes I go in to just browse. However the workers at this location are really aggressive and in your face. They alway follow you and it makes you feel like they are either bullying you into buying something or accusing you of stealing. Today I went in to browse the wine section . I didn't find anything I particularly liked, so i tried to exit. The lines were stacked with people, so I wasn't sure where I exited. A lady and 3 other workers approached me and was asking me things like "did you not find what you were looking for", "what were you looking for", "what kind of wine were you looking for" to which i replied " it doesn't matter, I'm trying to find the exit". When I was walking out, 3 workers watched me and were probably pulling up security footage to see if I stole anything. I've never had an establishment make me feel cornered and belittled. Total wine I get it, but Jesus pay your workers to be helpful and remind them that we're customers and not thieves. Not sure why y'all hired a team of investigators to follow customers around. I guess it's good strategy though...annoy and irritate your customers so much they need more alcohol to forget their shopping experience here. read more

Came here the first day it opened. Very shiny and lots of alcohol. I was ID'ed at the door, okay. Bought two local beers and was ID'ed again, go figure but then the announced over the loud speaker that they needed an age verification for me. Here comes two managers staring at me awkwardly for a few minutes to make sure I really am legal to buy the beer. Thankfully I was exhausted from work so my eyes glazed over until they handed me back my ID and I left. Well today I went back to buy some soda and a toblerone bar because that's how I roll when I am tired and hungry. Well, no longer was I ID'ed at the door but I was ID'ed for buying SODA and a TOBLERONE. No tequila, vodka, beer, wine, gin, whiskey, rum, or fizzy bubbly for myself but two SODA's and a TOBLERONE! Oh and I had to have my age verified by a manager once again.... Yes I am 21, going on 22 in 4 and a half months but I do not need to be ID'ed for non-alocoholic bottles of sunshine and a tasty log of chocolate. There are children in the store... CHILDREN! Who I am sure stand next to their parents when they decide to buy alcohol and are not carded. But me? The girl who waddles up with a twinkle in her eye, two soda's and a chocolate bar gets checked. Ok so the 1 star rating really just applies to the growler filling department of the Puyallup Total Wine. I do really like that we now have a place in Puyallup with an extensive inventory of wine. So got a mailer saying you could get $2 off a growler fill, so figured I would take advantage of that. Went there last week to fill my growler for the first and last time. The long and short of it is they have installed a system for filling growlers that supposedly prevents them from pouring samples. So basically unlike any other place you would go to get your growler filled, you can't actually taste the beer prior to purchasing a half gallon worth of it? The irony of this is that Total Wine as a company seems to understand that giving samples increases sales as they are always sampling at the store, but i guess they forgot to convey that to the guy purchasing the equipment for the growler station. In the future I'll be sticking with the place I usually go to fill my growler (Puyallup river alehouse) as they are always happy to give you a sample so you can actually make sure you like the beer your about to buy half a gallon worth. read more

I can't remember the name of the guy who helped us but from the time we walked in until we were at the cash registrar he was there making sure we found what we were looking for. Beautiful store, an absolute alcohol paradise. If you're into wine, this is a place to come take a look. However, that's not why I stopped in. My wife and I are beer aficionados and after being disappointed by BevMo in Tacoma and their utter lack of beer selection, Total Wine was much, much much better! I found exactly what I was looking for (Bayern Dragon's Breath Dark Heff) right on the shelf and priced more aggressively than in Montana, where it comes from. While I wasn't looking to grab any spirits, I also took a look at their ridiculously extensive section of vodka and was pleasantly surprised to see that the tags displayed the TOTAL price after Washington's heavy hard-A taxes. That's a nice touch because it's shocking to get to the register and realize that $20 bottle is actually $35 after liter tax, sin tax and sales tax. I shop at Total Wine and More frequently. I've always had good service and no complaints but I had an incredible experience at my last visit. Amber assisted me and it wasn't an easy assist. It took a lot of time and patience and she was great! She helped find all the items I needed and in the quantities. She also went well above and beyond and assisted me in setting up an order for my next big shopping trip so I wouldn't have to search and mix and match when not all my requests or the quantities, I wouldn't have to wait while they tracked everything down. I'm just really curious as to why a Cashier has to call over a manager to verify military ID?? When he [the manager] takes the same look at as the cashier did???! I had one other military personnel in front of me in line. The cashiers Didn't ask for his identification. Another individual [older white woman] didn't ask for ID. I'm a Black officer who moved to the area few months ago..I've been getting this strange treatment every time I enter this establishment. Manly whenever I check out--it almost feels like "ID Verification" is code for BLACK. I want to be clear I NEVER have a problem with presenting my ID; but the additional verification is redundant, time consuming, & might I add EMBARRASSING! Especially when you only do it to Black people. I didn't have the energy to ask why? Or make a scene about it. But it is highly noted and not a good look on the establishment. read more

Great selection and friendly staff. I get kegs here regularly for my home kegerator. They always have a lot of kegs on hand and have been happy to order ones for me when I've wanted something special. I even got a defective keg once and they made it right for me.
