The workers here are very rude. I work for a shopping and delivery service and all the employees know this so every time I ask them for help to locate a bottle of wine or liquor they just give me a vague answer. If I am standing there trying to locate something they just walk right by me not asking if I need help. The last time I went in there I asked a female employee if she could help me find a particular type of red wine and she said yes, but just give her a couple minutes. Three minutes later she walks right passed me with another customer. I just went in there today and I asked 5 different employees if they could help me find a brand of beer and they said no. This is the quintessential big box store for alcohol. They have TONS of stuff. There is so much in there and their prices are really good too. Here is my qualm with them. With so much inventory you need the ability to search for an item in multiple ways. They are organized by types (i.e. Merlot, or Bourbon) but sometimes all I have is a name of a winery. After I dropped the name of a winery they didn't feel they could help and I was left without anything. So back to what they do have. Huge selection! The store organizes wines by type so if you know what kind of wine you want you have plenty to choose from. Personally, I like wine to be organized by country/area but that's just me. They also have liquors, beer, and mixers. You can buy beer by the bottle which is great if you just want to try something first. Because I just moved to the area I grabbed a few local brews by the bottle and a cheap bottle of Merlot for around $11 total. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our first time here they suggested some local brews and also recommended Mystic Brewery right down the street. Overall, great place for all your wine/beer/liquor needs! read more

Been here about three times. First time was an okay experience, got what I needed, in & out quick. The second time I was looking for a particular red wine. I asked a female employee and she very rudely just told me to look in the back of the store. Didn't even stop to help, she said it very quickly and continued to walk. Another time, many months later, I was looking for a small 4 pack of champagne. Happened to come across the same employee and asked her where I can find this champagne and she gave a rude response and didn't seem like she wanted to help. She pointed at a direction for me to look at but it was very vague; she didn't say much and just pointed. She then continued to just walk away...again. He stopped me and removed most of the bottles from my cart. I never have been told, "I don't have to sell you anything!" Really what are you business for? Well here's the kicker. I drove to Kappy's and they sold me the bottles for 8.00 cheaper per bottle, next time you should too. How dare you treat me in a discriminatory and offensive manner. The man with long hair in a ponytail that works in the wine department was extremely rude to me. I asked two other employees in the wine area where I could find the wine i was looking for and they both just told me the aisle but if you dont work there all those aisle are very confusing especially if you are unfamiliar with wine types so I asked this man with long hair and glasses since he had been walking around and seemed to know a bit more. I walked over and he sized me up twice, i guess with me wearing a sweatshirt and jeans with sneakers I wasn't the type of costumer worth his time and he made that very clear. I simply stopped him and said I was told the wine i needed would be in that aisle but could not find it and he rolled his eyes, walked me over and said "This is where it should be, i have no idea where in the aisle now excuse me I have to get back to my CLIENTS" and stormed off. Then I hear his entire personality and attitude change as he approaches a wealthier looking couple in the next aisle. So I still couldn't find the wine I needed until thankfully the man stocking wine helped me out. 20 minutes to find one bottle of wine in there. I dont know how these types of jobs get paid but im pretty sure at the very least people especially working in costumer service should be treating every costumer equally. Looks like good pricing but if you try to order online for pickup watch out! They'll cheat you by substituting vintages left and right even if you specifically request no substitutions. My recent order had 8 substitutions for an order of 24 bottles. Complete waste of money driving all the way back just to return something they should have shown as being unavailable from the beginning. Classic bait and switch. Find a local reputable wine shop instead. Additionally for in store shopping don't expect any help. If you ask for recommendations they'll push off their high inventory stuff on you regardless of what you're asking for. read more

Was in the area with 2 friends and noticed this liquor store so I decided to stop instead of making a trip to my usual store. Prices were awesome and there was a kind gentleman who showed us right to where what we were looking for. After finishing shopping we went to the register where a lady named Maggie was. Without even saying hi she just said "I need all 3 of your IDs." 2 of us gave her our IDs but the 3rd friend was 20 who was just our driver. She refused to sell to me and called the manager. The manager said people under 21 aren't even allowed in the store so we had to leave after spending all that time shopping. If people under 21 aren't allowed in then there should be a sign. It's basically an adults toy store! So much fun to browse the endless isles. Also in the center of the store they are always sampling wines which is very helpful when selecting some new ones to try. I special ordered 12 bottles of vodka about a month ago, we called last week snd we were told our order was in so we drove over an hour to the store to pick it up amd guess what??? They lied our order was not in nor was it probably ever ordered. I have been here a number of times and each time haven't minded wandering around looking for things. Each time no one has offered to help me find anything, but I usually leave the store with something because there are so many offerings. Today I didn't want to wander around (The store is not really near my house and I didn't want to waste time there), so I called to make sure they had something I was looking for because I have been to three other stores in the last few weeks with no success. I was told on the phone they had the item I wanted, and when I went to the store a few hours later could not find it. I asked a manager and was told they did not have the item and, in fact, it was not being put out by a vendor. The periodic specials are always worth checking out as are their wine and beer tastings. The staff is quite knowledgeable and will work to find what you want even if it's at another Total Wine store. I drove by Total Wine & More for eight months before going in because it looks like a discount wine store that I've been in a hundred times. This wasn't that store. This store is like the warehouse at the end of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I literally spent two hours in this store the first time I visited and didn't even cover the whole layout, and I spent easily $100. Not only do they have a phenomenal selection of wine, but spirits, beer, cigars and even classes. The only problem with Total Wine is that I expected them to have an equally awesome website, but that was not the case. It wants to be, but it's just not there yet. My husband who was waiting on my daughter who works in one of the stores nearby just watched a man who seemed extremely inebriated park crooked in the lot, left car lights on, stumbled into the liquor store, bumped into the doors, purchase a case of beer, stumble back out bumping into the doors AGAIN, missing the curb and almost taking a fall head on, then zig zag out of the parking lot at top notch speed. My husband went into the store and asked why they would sell to someone so obviously drunk and impaired. They claim the man stated he had a "bum leg" ! First of all if the store employees suspected something was off here by asking what was wrong with him, this is negligent! Do we NOT have a moral obligation to the community to use good judgement in a situation like this?? I understand the man could easily just go to another liquor store and several more until he can get what he wants, but WHY would you allow this at your establishment Total Wine?!?? The manager avoided my husband like the plague so the only person forced to talked to my husband was a cashier (the one claiming he sold to him, and received the "bum leg" response) If that guy drives up the street and plows into a family of 4 innocent people killing them will you stand by your decision?!? Wheather it is your obligation by law or not I do not know nor pretend to be an expert in the matter. What I do know is you had a right and MORAL obligation to deny this sale. The rep was very concerned with what happened, refunded the difference in pricing and said they are going to use this as a coaching opportunity for the store. Sure this place has a large selection. But possibly the most rude staff I've ever had the misfortune of trying to purchase alcohol from. I just turned 21 two months ago and my older cousin drove us 30 minutes to this total wine for me to check it out finally. I put two items on the counter and greet the old cashier but without a word of greeting back he starts requesting the ID of my cousin who was showing me around the store that didn't want to purchase anything ON A MONDAY NIGHT and left the store while I was checking out. Staff member refused to sell to me so i just left. So now even at a legal age of 21 I still am being denied service here. Not only was this highly unprofessional and rude, but probably not even legal. I will never come here again and wish you would train your staff better. Good liquor and wine selection but DO NOT BUY CIGARS HERE. Found some moldy sticks in the humidor. Took them to a clerk who took me to the guy on duty in charge of the humidor who claimed the mold was plume, therefore a good thing, and put them back. What I saw on the cigars was mold. 100% certainty. They have mold growing in the humi and the staff is either incompetent or unwilling to deal with it. read more

Best prices around for anything from bourbon to wine to beer. I am a big carlsberg fan and it's so hard to find 12 packs at small liquor stores. Here they have both cans and bottles which is nice. So instead of driving all the way there to find it closed it's best to call to make sure the store is open.
