Nice store with a huge selection, and they sell a ton of Budweiser products, which means come Black Friday they have a ton of Bourbon County Stout and its offshoots, which is nice to know. Very nice craft beer selection at the back of the store as well read more

I'm charged with a Massachusetts 5 cent bottle return fee on the purchase of alcohol beverage cans. At this establishment in Central Square, the store's can machine has been disabled for 4 weeks. When I called the store's manager about it, she always tell me the same thing:"The machine is broken, and it's out of our control to fix it. The company has to come and fix the machine." It is my personal belief the REAL reason why this store doesn't want to accept bottle returns is because they don't want to deal with people's bottle returns Conclusion, I demand for the store to accept my bottle returns, and if not, then they shouldn't be charging customers as myself the 5 cent return fee. Thank you. read more

Decent selection and prices. However, pay attention at checkout as items will frequently scan with higher prices than shown on the shelf, especially if it is "on sale". read more

Our relationship is one of convenience. Proximity isn't everything but it's right there when I exit the T and five blocks from my house, and as I'm usually frenetically darting around these several minutes saved often means I'm not late. I'd appreciate if there was an organic/biodynamic selection though Harvest is across the street. Love that they carry Peak ales rounding out a solid beer selection. I'll pay the extra tax for variety and the exotic of all types of alky which they don't have at Libby's. Hands down the least seedy place to obtain some juice on the block and the cleanest. And the employees are nice (albeit none too knowledgeable) too despite the fact they have to wear those horrendous teal polos. read more

Supreme Liquors - The beware go sign. Pretty cool! - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

I'm a mixologist-in-training and I love this place. They have a pretty good selection of liqueurs and a huge selection of those little travel-sized bottles that's perfect for my many cocktail experimentations. (Get the Bailey's Mint Chocolate....DELICIOUS!) They even carry seasonal stuff like pumpkin liqueur in the fall. Mmmm. The wine selection is surprisingly quite extensive. I was able to find some dry Prosecco that I really needed for a cocktail once, and they carry vino from all corners of the globe. Don't care about beer so can't comment on that selection. Besides its proximity to the T, here's the other main reason you should go here: the service! Service in a liquor store can sometimes consist of a surly foreign person barking at you for ID, shoving change/receipts in your hand and glowering at you as you walk away without a "Thank you". Not so here. My G.O.D., the people here are nice. So incredibly friendly, outgoing, knowledgeable and helpful. The crew that was working yesterday--I swear, I felt like I was a dinner guest in a Southern grandma's kitchen. So warm and inviting. read more

Supreme is pretty tucked away in central square, in the sense that you would never think it was so nice and clean and big just looking at it from the outside. It's surrounded by some pretty sketch folk, and the street and sidewalk outside are littered with trash and empty alcohol nubs. But when you walk in it's always a bit of a shock how big, clean and well lit it is. Their selection is pretty awesome and very well organized. You have all your vodkas, rums, and other hard liquors organized by type and price - with the rubinoff on the bottom shelf and the belvedere on the top shelf, and everything in between. The prices aren't spectacular, but it isn't highway robbery either. They also sell a good selection of bar tools and stuff like that. The staff are always super normal and nice, which is actually ridiculous when you think about the type of people they must deal with on a regular basis. They aren't really going to give you taste profile comparisons of every whiskey on the shelf, but they know where things are and will point you to where you need to go. Great hard liquor section, great wine selection. Lots of smaller bottles and nips behind the counter as well, especially of some really expensive brands. They are pretty strict about carding - they will scan your ID card as well to make sure it's real. I have a young face and many times I've been asked for a backup/secondary ID as well. Overall, I find Supreme more expensive than the Liquor World in Porter, but they have a way bigger selection. Definitely my favorite liquor store in Cambridge. read more

Called to ask how much for a bottle of Bulleit bourbon as a gift. Woman told me 'we can't give prices over the phone.' I asked 'is that a law?' She said 'No, just this store, we've been told not to give prices over the phone. You have to come in to the store.' Thanks but no thanks! read more

Relating to COVID-19, the employee working the register as well as several other customers were not wearing protective masks. When I asked the employee to wear her mask she refused and was quite rude. I will not return to the store. read more

I have lived in Cambridge for 40 years. Starting in Adams House, Harvard, then Central Square, now between Harvard and Porter Squares. Supreme has a solid selection of wines, at a diverse price range. Cointreau seems to be always priced at $35. , $15. less than its competitors. Great spectrum of tequilas. The people are pleasant, and always seem to have a dog biscuit for my Sebastian. In summation, great variety of items, fair price structure, knowledgeable and pleasant staff. read more

Good selection of what I'm looking for, but still a bit pricey.

An above average liquor store simply because it's so large that you get a lot of choice. It's also in a good spot - so close to the T at Central Square. The pretty extensive world selection of beers and some good choices of the local craft beers is probably the most impressive part of this place. Their is also plenty of the hard stuff behind the counter too including some expensive whiskeys. On the downside everything is a little overpriced, and the staff aren't very helpful. In fact - the place gives me negative vibes. Still, it's a good place to while away 15 mins hoping that your wallet, gut, brain and tongue will work out a compromise together and steer you to the one of many hundreds that you actually want the most. read more

Comparing Supreme and Libby's is like comparing apples and little, moldy, half-eaten apples. Supreme is better by far. It's bigger, cleaner, has a wider selection of everything, and on top of that, everything is still slightly cheaper than at Libby's. Supreme is not just superior, it is a legitimately decent liquor store. Liquor stores don't get much better than this in downtown Cambridge, and that's a near-miracle considering the quarter block around it is sketchier than an SNL marathon. It's still kind of shady in there because half the clientele are the people who stand outside the store yelling at each other, but they usually use inside voices in the store. And even though the employees don't seem to be mentally all there either, they are generally good natured and know their way around the aisles. Like if you ask one of them if they have some weird fermented rice drink, a) they actually have it, b) the guy knows where it is, and c) he will at least point in the right direction even if he can't quite form words immediately. Hey, after saving my unprepared-to-party ass two nights in a row, that stoned, slurry baby voice was music to my ears. read more

Good prices overall, every once in a while they'll have samples of certain featured items. It is a bit haphazardly organized, so you'll need to do a lap or two before figuring out where your favorites are shelved. I was biking home and needed to make sure that the 12-bottle sampler pack I purchased would fit into my backpack. The staff was fine with me stuffing my bag full of their merchandise pre-payment to make sure it would fit, which gives them cool points and 4 yelp stars for not calling the cops on what surely looked like blatant thievery. read more

Guess what? You, yes you, can buy booze here. A lot or a little, fancy or frugal, there's quite a bit to choose from at Supreme Liquors. The highlights include several steals on various varietals of wine near the front and a plentiful stock of craft beers in the way back. Sadly, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is nearly non-existent here and the cachaça selection pitiful. Close proximity to the T makes thus a convenient location to stop for some sauce on the way to a friend's house and the size of the store should assure that you won't ever leave empty handed. read more

First things first: they treat you kind of like a criminal here. You *will* get carded, and so will the people who come in with you. It happens every single time, no exceptions, never. Additionally, if you show up right before closing time, there's usually a cop there, and the alcohol has to be bought and paid for before 11:00. I've seen people get told to put their beer back and go home. It sucks; it's the law -- do yourself a favor and make that beer run at 10:30 instead of 10:50. That said, I do a large fraction of my beer shopping here even though it's far from home. The selection here is hard to beat; they've got pretty much every beer made in New England, more imports than I'll ever get around to trying, and a pretty solid selection of beers from the rest of North America. Their specialty-beer selection isn't the greatest but interesting things turn up sometimes: I've found Dogfish Palo Santo and Brooklyn Chocolate Stout here. The prices are, by Boston standards, unbeatable -- off the top of my head I think a 6-pack of Harpoon goes for about $8. The liquor selection and prices are pretty decent too. I can't comment on the wine, because I normally get that at Trader Joe's. There's a lot of it here, though. The sake selection is disappointing, but I feel like a pretentious lush pointing it out. I haven't found a five-star liquor store in metro Boston, but this is probably my favorite in Cambridge. read more

Hey, for being this close to the office, you cant beat it. Huge wine selection with fantastic prices. Large liquor selection which runs a bit high, but good sales which bring the prices out of the stratosphere. To my fellow reviewers: to complain about the homeless/drunken issues of the Supreme is to complain about Central Square itself, not the business. They are not necessarily any more prominent here than outside any other business on this stretch of Mass Ave. Supreme serves its purpose, and serves it well. read more

So, I think with Supreme Liquors you have to take the Central Square riff raff and inflated Boston prices as a given. If you want your vodka $3 cheaper, drive your car to the NH state line. That being said, I think this place is pretty great. - They have an amazing selection of beers - the microbrews and imports selection is especially impressive - I love the mystery six pack by the register. I have only bought it once and it was pretty awesome - Hoegarden and a Tecate in the same sixer??? - They are really helpful when you ask. I had two sales people helping me assemble the perfect Dark and Stormy the other night with a recommended dark rum. They also carry ginger beer by the can! - When things are crowded - think New Years Eve and St Pattys - they run out like 5 staff to the registers and get even the biggest line knocked out quick. Pretty impressive. - plus, the popcorn machine? I always take a bag... who could refuse that? Supreme is clearly the best liquor/beer/wine one stop shop in the Central Sq area. Bank it! read more

Huge selection on beer, wine, liquor. Good prices. Great location and hours. Plenty of peolle at checkout so line is never more than a couple folks (except maybe Friday night rush). Everything you want from a neighborhood liquor store. read more

Quick review - the liquor selection here has gotten better by leaps and bounds over the last year. Definitely don't write these guys off. My favorite store in Cambridge is still Liquor World in Porter Square (which has a really GREAT selection of stuff), second is Cambridge Wine and Spirits and Wine and Cheese Cask. But if you're in Central and need to grab something, they will mostly likely be able to accomodate you. Libby's across the street doesn't even touch this place. read more

Supreme is like the incredible expanding liquor store, because it is constantly growing. Seriously, I don't know if they can fit any more shelves here but they keep adding. I love supreme for many reasons. I really like that I can make my own 6 pack with an ever changing selection of beer. That is the most important reason why I love it here. The prices are nothing special, but the selection is awesome. They have a TON of beer, wine and liquor. It is rare that you get a place in a downtown area that has all three. As for the staff - I have had multiple exclusively friendly interactions. Pay attention to the signs, have your ID ready and don't be a jerk. If you do those, you will have success. read more

A little overpriced, but hey, the selection is great! I have had the pleasure of visiting Supreme Liquors on many occasions to quench my thirst and want for a nice beer. Every time I go in, their shelves are stocked up (which is more than I can say about some places, especially down on Cambridge Street in Inman) and the lines are never long. I think one of the best things, though, is the extremely friendly staff. Sometimes I get a little miffed by angry employees, especially at liquor stores. But these guys, man, they always have a smile on their face. Watch out for the creepos outside who are trying to bum a few bucks off of you (or who secretly want to jump you for the Rubinoff you just purchased... and I'm talking to you, Central Square hipsters!) read more

Used to go to this place once a week for years but stopped now. One of the guys working there seems to be a trouble maker. He picked on me for taking out a mix and match 6pack which I was able to do for years at the place. There are better places around. read more

Definitely not what you'd expect from the location... First of all, if you are going anytime after noon, prepare yourself to walk the gauntlet of crazies, druggies, homeless, and homies. Once inside though, you find a spacious and well kept store, stocked with all sorts of varieties of liquors and beer. I was surprised at the selection of microbrews and local beers! The prices are normal and the staff is very friendly. Just prepare yourself for the clutter of craziness outside the front door. read more

I as a policy have always avoided this place. My cousin and friends used to work at Libby's across the street several years ago and so would patronize that store instead (obviously). Since the change of hands across the street, I have gone into Supreme twice and turns out, there was reason to keep clear. I went in with my older sister (24), my cousin (25) and my friend (25) and myself (22) and we all had ID except for my sister, so once we realized this she wandered out without us and went to Gap across the street. The three of us with IDs went up and tried to pay for it, aparently somebody on the oh-so-helpful-courteous-staff ACTUALLY took note of the four of us walking in and the three of us then paying, they refused to take her passport once they told us she had to come back in to prove she had no ID on her per "store policy" so we went to Dana Hill, where the guy knows us and had no problem. Store policy, my ass. I refuse to go in there again. They charge too much, I would rather give my money elsewhere. read more

Big. Wines. Liquor. Mixers. You know, the usual. But at some point, Supreme Liquor busted out a great selection of beer. It will never match the diverse offerings of Downtown Wine and Spirits of Davis Square, but it's pretty darn close. Mmm...NY's Rare Vos. Chilled and ready to go. Whale's Tale. Seadog. Allagash. Other stuff. Can't complain except that I have to walk a mile to get there... A word of note to friends who might be visiting me. If you need to pick up booze and you're coming from the big bad city via the Red Line, get off at Central Square and go to Supreme! since there is NO WHERE to buy liquor from Kendall/MIT en route to Chez Hampshire St. read more

Quick and convenient. Sometimes they have amazing deals, like a 12 pack of angry orchard for $13. Hard liquor is average price like $25 for a 750mL of Captain, but I've seen cheaper. Beer is priced like many other places, on average $9 for a 6 pack. Wines and spirits are varied and pricing is decent. I've seen Barefoot at $8 for 1.5 liter in the deal bins and goes up to $13 for no deal, so $9 at Supreme Liquors is good. ' Not a bad place to pick up liquor if you're in the area but not the best for your buck. read more

I'm baffled by the reviews on here that claim Supreme's prices are reasonable. I paid 60% more for a bottle of liquor here than I would have paid for the same at Liquor World in Porter Sq. Although, when your comparison is the equally overpriced Libby's across the street, I suppose Supreme's prices DO seem "normal." (Yet the same bottle could have been had at Libby's for 20-25% less....) It's no wonder there are so many homeless in Central Square; anyone with anything resembling a serious drinking habit cannot be expected to pay these sort of prices and still make their rent each month... read more

There are zombies who lurk outside in front by the T stop and DDs. A visit to Supreme Liquors requires me to dust of the ol' Three Wolf Moon Shirt. Only a wolf shirt will provide protection from the living dead who lurk out front. The store does gets a lot of traffic. The staff is always friendly and quick. The wine section looks inviting and not overwhelming in size. The store is managed very well (Our fav beer is always in stock-and cold). The store has the best deal on my favorite beer. The promo events are set up in the back and are not in the way. The police are sometimes standing by in front to monitor, but hey this is College Town USA. However, the CPD officers i've encountered there are professional and friendly. I don't know if the store is officially "dog friendly" but i've been in the store when customers came in with dogs (even a cranky Pitbull) and the staff didn't bother them. The enter /exit gets crowded, but the single double automatic doors are a plus... read more

I'll don't really drink anything other than beer so I can't speak to their liquor and wine selection. What I can tell you is this is one of the better beer selections in the area. They are always rotating in new bombers and microbrews and have things that I haven't even seen at the larger chains. The prices are especially good considering the area. I always expect to get screwed when buying beer in the city, yet I never leave feeling ripped off at Supreme. They are pretty strict in regards to ID. If you are trying to use a fake I'd suggest going elsewhere. I don't even think they will take out of state IDs unless you look 40ish. They often also have either a security guard or a police officer later in the night, especially towards the weeks end. read more

Be prepared to show ID; Supreme Liquors cards everyone. This store clearly has more space and selection than Libby's across the street. I have often wandered in to scope out their selection. The thing is, every single item I've ever seen at Supreme that looked interesting I have found for cheaper somewhere else, be it Blanchard's, Marty's, Martignetti's, the Wine and Cheese Shop, Liquor World, Downtown, etc.. I have come back to Supreme to pick up certain bottles after saving up my money to find that they have, in the meantime, marked the price up anywhere from $10 to $30 dollars! Even if you find something you like here, save yourself some money and go buy it somewhere else. read more

Out of all the super scary liquor stores in Central Scare, this one is the least freaky, by far. Not that it should justify a trip here specifically... Yes they close at 11 PM (which is weird, since I just moved from Cali where you cold booze it up anytime, any day). However, I think the employee must have seen my desperation (and soberness) as I ran towards the door at 10:58 -- he held it open and closed it as I slipped inside. Then he refused the next people who tried to scurry in 20 seconds later -- HA! Grabbed a six pack ( decent selection but not outstanding), then stood in line. Beer was a little pricey, but who am I to be choosy? The most interesting part of the trip was the homeless guy who was trying to bargain with the door employee, and then began harassing the cashier to give him something for free. Now, I'm just nursing my beer, and trying to lay the smack down on my pre-interview jitters. read more

I'm not sure why this store has gotten average reviews. I've been a customer here the last fore over fifteen years, It has been my liquor store of choice fr most of that time. Years ago - I would've agreed with all of the reviews. In the past five years or so, with renovations - it has improved 1000%. It used to be much much smaller and darker, and probably a little scarey. They often have great sales on hard liquor, very competitive to the better known liquor stores in the area (certainly better than the one across the street!). I don't buy my wine here - so I can't speak to that. Their beer selection has probably quadrupled over the last few years. I've always found the cashiers to be very friendly - and helpful. Yes, it is on the T - which adds to my appreciation of it, as I never learned how to drive. And it is a city location - which can add to it's flavor (positively or negatively). The neighborhood is filled with students, working poor and working professionals. It has been my liquor store of choice. btw - all liquor stores in Mass. have a close time of 11pm. Weird or not- shouldn't be a mark against them! read more

This is one of the most convenient places to get alcohol in Central Square. Their size allows them to carry many more brands than the next closest liquor store, Libby's. Great selection and decent price (price could be better, only flaw). Although, they were extremely helpful when I (who am in a power chair, with frail arms) needed some help racking up a good amount of beer. The manager helped me bring them up to the counter - and after I had purchased the batch - loaded them up on the back of my wheelchair with some bungee cords I had brought. Piece of cake - I appreciated how easy they made it. Not to mention the doors were automated. This is fairly rare that places have automated doors, let alone any wheelchair accessibility at all. I'm very pleased with this store, and will probably make it my go-to place. read more

Better than Libby's across the street. Here is why I am writing a review of this place: THIRSTY THURSDAYS. This place is MUCH bigger than it looks from the outside. There's a surprising amount of variety in the beer and wine sections including some of those tasty yet cheaply priced wines like the Menage a Trois blends. The employees are also really nice, though one admitted to me that he was so in the habit of carding that he has carded for things like margarita mix before. Um yeah... They sometimes have good deals on certain types of liquor (ex. Margaritaville tequila) so they helped me to furnish a Central Square residing friend's margarita party just fine. read more

As a total tourist, I was surprised to see this store had it all! Well, almost. The beer selection was awesome, and they had most of the harder to find beers already chilling in the fridge! This place probably has the best selection in Central Square, with a variety of different beers/wines/spirits.
