I genuinely hate leaving negative reviews, especially for a small business, but after everything that happened, I feel obligated to share my experience. In the beginning, Roman's communication was exceptional. He was responsive, friendly, and repeatedly brought up leaving him a 5-star Yelp review. It wasn't just mentioned once--it came up multiple times, and he made it clear how important that 5-star review was to him. Based on how attentive he was at the start, I believed I had found a reliable lawn service, so I was happy to support his business. Unfortunately, after that, it felt like a complete 180. Once I became a recurring customer, the level of service and communication completely changed. His responsiveness disappeared, his attitude changed, sections of my yard were repeatedly missed, and my requests to cut the grass lower and trim areas like the fence line and planting strip were consistently ignored. The biggest issue was June. We had a clear agreement: $100 per month for biweekly service, with payment made mid-month. I paid him on June 19, exactly as we had agreed. Despite that, my lawn wasn't cut until June 21, and I only received one visit that month instead of the two I paid for. What really frustrated me was being told they were "waiting on payment." That simply wasn't true based on our agreement. I paid exactly when I was supposed to. Using payment as the excuse for the delay made no sense. I then asked if we could work out a partial refund or credit since I only received half of the service I paid for. My message was read and ignored. After that, I called his personal phone and company line a combined eight times. No answer. No callback. No text. Nothing. I understand that equipment breaks and unexpected things happen. What I don't understand is running a business with almost no communication or accountability. A simple text saying, "I'm behind," or "I'll make this right," would have changed this entire review. Instead, I paid $100 for biweekly service and only received one incomplete visit. The second service was never made up, no credit or refund was offered, and the June issue was never resolved. From my perspective, I ended up paying $50 extra for a service I never received. The biggest disappointment is how different the experience became. Before the review, communication was constant and earning that 5-star Yelp review seemed to be a top priority. Afterward, when there was an actual problem that needed to be resolved, I couldn't even get a phone call or text back. I wanted this business to succeed, but reliability, communication, and standing behind your work are what keep customers--not 5-star reviews.
