6am cardio kick boxing

I joined Total MMA about one year ago, and all I can say is if you're still thinking about trying BJJ or Muay Thai, I would recommend this place 100%. Starting at the front desk with Jenny and Casey welcoming you into the gym -- they are some of the most genuine people you'll meet. The atmosphere here is amazing and makes you feel comfortable from day one. Then you have the coaches. Coach Régis is one of the best kickboxing and Muay Thai coaches you could ask for. He takes the time to work with you, makes sure you understand the combinations, and really focuses on the fundamentals during class. Coach Marcello is also an incredible instructor who makes sure you understand the fundamental aspects of BJJ and helps break everything down in a way that makes learning easier for everyone. Whether you're brand new or experienced, this gym truly has something for everybody. Great people, great coaching, and a great environment.

Weight lost progress

Started back in October 2025 with zero martial arts experience at 240 lbs. Jumped into the 6-week program, and now 7 months later I am down 40 lbs, lost inches off my waist, and learned a great deal. Honestly, all it took was a quick tour and orientation to get going. Jenny and Casey broke everything down for me at the start and have kept checking in on my progress, which really helped keep me on track. The Muay Thai and BJJ coaches are very good at what they do, correct you on the fundamentals, and mostly go above and beyond sharing their expertise and knowledge. They also do private classes, which I also took advantage of, which tremendously improved my understanding of what I am doing.

We been at Total MMA for about 3 years and we have nothing but an amazing experience.

I felt a group of people who came together not for 6 pack abs and clout, but came together because "health is wealth." Feeling strong. Feeling healthier. Feeling growth at any age was progress. To start, my husband takes once a week privates and is signed up for their weekly classes. I'm currently in grad school so I take once a week privates. Let me tell you: 1.) You will never find a group of more genuine, kind hearted and caring people to teach you Muay Thai or boot camp. Neil coaches my guy and I and he is such an honest and real person. He pushes you, but always safely. David, the owner, is the coolest and he is so honest - he really cares about the people who come to stay here and even those who just come through. Hamid is an absolute joy to be around - he's always happy and energetic. Despite me entering the gym with 0 knowledge in Muay Thai, I have never once felt judged, embarrassed, or any other negative emotions because these dudes just aren't those types of people. 2.) the gym itself is pretty freaking awesome. It's large, it's spacious, the equipment is good and clean and the ring is kept clean. There's never any weird smell (I'm looking at you 24 hour fitness) and I love that their ceilings are high as hell so that there's just a ton of space. 3.) I cant speak for the classes since I haven't been, but husband LOVES them and he is always happy to go and come back from them. He tells me about how helpful everyone is and how even though people are at different stages, everyone holds each other up. There's no "me versus you" feeling. Everyone is here to learn and egos are checked at the door. 4.) The privates with Neil will kick your ass. Enough said. Neil is a lovely, personable guy and he will push you - but as I said, always safely. For example I got a foot cramp today and he stopped the lesson for a few minutes to help me breathe and stretch through it. All in all, I love this place and it's becoming a second home to my husband and I. I look forward to every day that I come in here and I can't wait to get better.

I tend to try things and not going back, but KBXC classes kept me going! I always look forward for my next class. It helped lock it with my fitness journey! Something that I was never persistent about. Now, I've been working out 5 times a week for the past 2 months. During my first week, I could barely catch my breath and had little knowledge of kickboxing moves and techniques but these didn't discourage me from keep trying. The classes start with intense fitness workout and then focus on kickboxing combos. I highly recommend everyone to sign up for their 1 week trial. This will help you find the trainer that best fits you and your fitness goal. They have multiple locations (Orange, Downey, Lakewood) with diverse qualified trainers. I enjoy taking Jazzmine's classes when I need someone uplifting that encourages me throughout the workout. I take Brianna's classes when I need intense combos and lower body workouts and if you are looking for technique and form, definitely take Kevin and Josh's classes! Your environment and the people you surround yourself with have a big influence on your mindset, energy, and success. This definitely applies to KBXC! Thank you to all the trainers for your hard work! Sable

However, the facility's cleanliness is a major issue. The locker rooms and changing areas are consistently dirty and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, during my last visit, we actually saw a rat running through the gym. It's a shame because the coaching is some of the best in Orange, but the lack of hygiene is a serious health concern that needs to be addressed immediately. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and invests in a deep clean and pest control, as it currently detracts from an otherwise great training environment.

At the moment of writing this, I am about 6 weeks into OC boxing. I simply cannot believe the…read moreprogress I've made so far as someone who is new to combat sport. I originally tried to learn this from home, but it was just not feasible and proved to be challenging without proper guidance. I tried out several gyms, however OC boxing just had the right vibe. It's diverse with many adults learners, so I did not feel like I'm learning with a bunch of high schoolers like other gyms. The beginner class is taught by coach Uy Long and coach Earnesto, they're both great at breaking down the fundamentals and give you the support needed. I started going to the morning (all levels) and evening (intermediate) class after about 3 weeks and that was where the real learning began because it involved sparring. The head coaches, Sean and George alternate between leading morning and evening class, so the lessons are completely different. Meaning, if you go twice a day, then you would be getting two different lessons. So in a week, you can get 11 different lessons if you got the time and energy. Sean and George are always present in both classes to demonstrate the offensive and defensive techniques in pairing session. The lessons are broken down into three segments, solo drills, paired drills, and sparring with partners. The classes are an hour long, I feel like I learn something new each time and get to apply it. Despite the morning class having fewer people (3-7 usually), Sean and George still put in the same attention and dedication that they do for the evening. I appreciate that the lessons are not repetitive, so it makes going twice a day worthwhile. For a beginner like me, it's easy to get demotivated if no progress is made. However, the coaches here really know their craft and the lessons are never boring. They're also very generous with letting me use their headgear while I was waiting for mine to arrive. I look forward attending the morning class everyday. Sometimes people stay back for extra sparring rounds so that's even better. Coach Uy Long specifically, has helped me progress tremendously over the last several weeks. He's given me a list of tools through our sparring matches that I've been able to utilize and fair better chances in all my sparring matches. The list goes from: feints, infighting, keeping the opponent's jab away, cutting off the opponent's path, keeping the opponent out of range with straight arms/jabs/flag hooks, and many more. These fundamentals have helped me stand my ground against people who have been here longer than me. Coach Uy Long is also generous with his feedbacks. It's very useful to receive feedback on things that could improve during sparring. Whether that is keeping guard up a certain way or keeping the hand out to block the jab, having those one or two additional feedbacks pave the way for the next sparring round. In the heat of a match, most people won't remember anything they learn in class. By having it pointed out explicitly, it helps you prioritize that action until it becomes a part of your boxing flow. This is how you slowly get better at anything in my opinion, applying one feedback at a time until it is ingrained and becomes part of your arsenal. He did this with infighting for me. This is completely unimaginable 6 weeks ago as I recall being hesitant to spar with people. The classes teach you the fundamentals, but sparring is where you get to apply those lessons. At the 6th week, head movement during sparring matches is finally starting to click for me. I'm looking forward to see where I'll be at the one year mark. I highly recommend OC boxing for people who started late and new to combat sports. The coaches know what they're doing and it's the right environment to foster boxing skills if you're willing to learn.
