He is by far the best trainer I have had in my many years of training. I have been a member for about three years. It has steadily gone down hill since then, most notably in past six months. There are no toilet seat covers in the ladies locker room. There are two hand dryers, one of which doesn't work. Several machines have signs that say "work in progress", I am not sure why it says in progress because it has been there for over two weeks. There used to always be toilet seat covers, I am not sure what has changed, I used to see a woman cleaning during the day and everything was in great shape when she was there. I don't see her anymore. I would like to recommend the gym to my friends who are interested in a gym. I would not do that now unless things change. Chris, my trainer, is extremely personable, focused, and on top of all our objectives. I've always thought the best customer service experience is one where the client feels like they're the only client in the universe, and that the party providing the service is devoted to the singular task of addressing the client's needs. Obviously, a bit of a fantasy given a business with multiple clients, but some businesses pull it off: they create an environment where you feel like you're truly cared for, as if you're the only client. Evolve Athletic Club has accomplished this with me. The staff here are extremely competent, supportive, attentive to detail, and prioritized all my personal objectives. Every question has a good answer and every workout is challenging. A lot of care is put into recovery and nutrition. The space is very clean and organized. The staff has done a great job to build amazing rapport and trust. On a side note, you know the expression, "zero fucks given"? It's this attitude where a person literally does not care about a single thing. Plants need watering? No. Need to pay rent? Nah. Clothes getting dirty and need washing? Whatever. Failing school? Ite. Evolve is the opposite of this. In fact, I think they're the opposite of this plus more. Not only do they do everything you think that's required of them, they also do stuff that you don't consider. They take the initiative to say: "hey, this is cool and could be beneficial to you. Why don't you try it?" But, but...you're reviewing a business. Aren't corporate entities "it's" and not "they's"? Sure. However, I stopped thinking of Evolve as a corporate entity as soon as I started working out there. All the staff members look organically happy and engaged, and everyone has a great sense of humor. It genuinely feels like the people here are part of a family. Perhaps I'm just happy that I'm in much better shape. But, at the end of the day, results are results. Not only did I get results, I got them with a process that was fun and engaging. I'm more encouraged than ever to work out and be healthy.

This is my home gym and it has been a roller coaster...5 stars to 1.5 stars back to 3 stars…read more Benefits: *It is in a safe free parking lot that always has spaces and is on a central park ave which is a street with many establishments making going the gym, shopping, and getting food easy to do. *Affordable enough. *Mostly older patrons *Very few "gym bros" *mixed crowd (and no racists so far) *Private *Many stations for towels. *I like the machine selection *A nice lobby *Most people do not talk and are civil. *Hand sanitizer at front desk Drawbacks *It is in the basement so there is no natural light. *Very little room to stretch *Small men's bathroom with 1 stall and a small locker room and showers in direct view of the sinks so you will see a naked stranger every now and then which can be disturbing. *The pipes above dripped for over a month causing flooding and dripping on patrons/machines but it has been fixed so I am giving back some stars. (No discounts were given during this bad time). *There is still a section of a wall roped off as it has damage and cables running on the floor to dry the area which you could trip on. *There is 1 old man regular that talks to a lot of people disturbing them but people are polite back at least but management should take him aside and speak to him. *Some patrons sit at a machine texting instead of working out and it takes longer to get to machines than it should. *Some patrons take way more towels than they should. New details *The staff has improved their restocking efforts of towels, bathroom cleaning efforts, and toilet paper restocking which got bad at one point. *The machines break more than other gyms here then I have been too but they are typically fixed within a week but it makes getting your intended work out harder sometimes. *They changed the spray which has a nice scent now. Protip: *Wear headphones if you do not want to communicate to others. *Stay off your phones *Wipe machines but do not over spray or take too many towels. *Please do not be naked in the locker room, it makes people uncomfortable. *Bring a lock (My gf's locker was robbed in the harlem planet fitness but no such thing has happened here as it is more upscale but don't tempt fate by leaving your wallet in the bathroom/locker room). *Bring any phones/keys/wallets you find to the front desk. *stretch at home, not here. Advice for the owner: It seems the other spots in the building are empty so you should expand to make it a better establishment and please handle any leaky pipes in a more timely manner as you almost lost me as a customer. Sometimes classes can get a bit crowded which doesn't allow as much individual attention as some might want (or need), but all in all I highly recommend...especially if you've never done crossfit before. They offer a free trial class and you can also do an "on-ramp" set of classes to get the basics down before you jump in (which you'll want to, believe me). Lots of friendly people and get athletes of all ages and levels.

It's a different model, where no two days are alike, and the program has the ability to morph you to become a better person; a stronger (mentally and physically) and more confident person. That is why they like to charge fees so aggressively. Honestly the Scarsdale one is why better and the Colorado one is truly amazing. They go above and beyond to support your fitness journey and they assume positive intent and flex if needed. These people don't flex at all and some weird things about wait list. Very disappointing. Some of the front desk people are super nice. Others are not and I don't believe they really care if you are getting healthy or not. It's just a business. Maybe you should hire people who want to make a difference in the lives of others vs. getting a pay check. Oh and they do campaigns if you give a 5 star you get a t-shirt sometimes. Warning. P
