Not ideal. 2 They have a smith machine,.Smith machines are horrible, very counter productive for proper lifting. The staff does nothing to stop people, usually teens from sitting on machines texting and waisting space. Cardio machines are standard and in working order. Dumbbells go to 100,which is great. Towel service is also very nice touch Place is very clean. All in all 3 stars is fair. Its small and a weight room should not have a squat rack, bench press and platform all in one. Smith machine are useless. I'm a certified strength trainer, I know what I'm taking about. It is what it is. At this point it is good enough for me. I would recommend, but for some no. BTW, bathrooms are clean, but in no way are a locker room.

The most helpful was a transfer of the membership to a location "near" my new home. Nearby was defined as within 25 miles! Really?!? Who in their right mind with any life drives 25 miles one way to go to the gym!! How arrogant and ridiculous. I was given incorrect information over the phone when I called regarding cancelling my membership. Furthermore, when I signed up I wasn't given plan options, leaving me trapped in a membership I can no longer utilize. If you're going to have ridiculous cancellation policies, at least train your employees to give out correct information and make all options known to customers when signing people up. Life changes happen frequently in an unpredictable and rapid manner. The equipment at the gym isn't even adequate. In response to the comment below - not sure how telling me the incorrect payment (off by 200 dollars!!?) I owe over the phone to cancel is "providing you with the right guidance to reach out."

Kid's birthday parties can be stress-inducing.You invite the whole class. Some RSVP and show up,…read moresome don't. Some forget to RSVP and show up. Some have food allergies and happily drop their kids off without sticking around. Some bring extra kids in tow. Did I order enough food? Can we keep them busy for 2 hours? (Can you tell I've been through the kid class party ringer?!) The Grit Ninja was an answer to a kid party prayer. My birthday boy had a blast jumping and acrobat-ing around with his buddies. You get the place to yourself, which makes the drop-off thing much easier and relaxed. The party assistants take care of everything. The food is included (just add cake & decorations) and the instructor (a real Ninja Warrior!) is awesome; such patience with a high energy brood! The kids climb, jump, do obstacle courses, swing and attempt the "Ring of Fire!" (No, it's not at all as scary as it sounds, Mom & Dad!) Looking forward to taking my dudes back for their classes too. Grateful for another great place to celebrate and flex your warrior grittiness! :)

My niece's camp class attended the Norwalk location. They couldn't find her waiver, despite us…read morehaving filed it that morning (We'd even received email confirmation of its completion). They made her sit out the activities for more than an hour until they could "find" the waiver. When I accidentally called the Pleasantville location to ask what was going on, they -- a different location -- found it immediately. Clearly, had the Norwalk staff searched under her name they would have found it. When I spoke with the Norwalk manager, she kept reiterating that their system updates in "real time," which seems separate from the problem. While there might have been an issue with their system, I'm more concerned that they didn't simply look her up. Ironically, that lack of basic problem solving makes me suspect their ability to keep participants safe. They certainly didn't make an 11-year-old girl happy.

My boyfriend just dragged me here one day so he could show off, but i ended up showing him a lil somethin somethin too. Ohhh yeaaa! For the life of me I could not even do air squats, but kevin showed me stretches and looked at my once pathetic air squats and turned me into a squatting machine! At first i didnt understand the movements , but he gave me invaluable coaching cues and painted little pictures in my head that helped me understand the proper form. With the help of the awesome staff, i was able to squat 135lbs on my very first day at SMG BOOYAH (i never squatted correctly before that)! Usually you'd have to pay to get coached or tips on technique, but the staff here are more than willing to give cues when needed. Lastly, i love the good vibes here. Everyone is super supportive of everyone elses progress. The sense of community here is as strong as the people who lift in it. Awesome place! Definitely recommend coming here.
