I have paid these people off in full April 2018 $13k for a truck and yet it's Jan. Almost Feb 2019 and they still have not released my Title to my car. They refuse to let you refinance unless YOU LOST your job or income. They refuse to change the payment dates and call me every day knowing my payment pattern for the last two years. I have been with TFL for 11 months now. Just call this place out of the blue and you will see for yourself how obvious the lack of training and experience these reps have. McDonald restaurants have answered their lines in a more professional manner than this place. The absolute worst customer service hands down. No one seems to have any professionalism or charisma. I am surprised this company is even at an operating level after speaking to the absolutely useless reps that do very little more than pick up the phone in front of them and say hello. I have called on 3 occasions and have been told the same thing with each of my questions, "Sir, I just spoke to my manager, and we are going to look into it, and call you back." Not once have i gotten a call back or was someone able to answer my very simple questions. They don't seem to be holding up their end of our agreement at this point. One of the worst decisions I have ever made in my 30+ years in this earth was getting in bed with this company. And I have a dead beat baby father. So that's saying a lot! The people are rude and have no regard for anyone. They continuously call your phone for 1 week late payment. They don't just call your phone either; they call every number you gave them for references and your job. When I say call I don't mean 1 or 2 times they repeatedly call, multiple times a day! They threaten you with reposition and docking your pay. Then they actually repo the car with less than 3 weeks late. I have never heard of a car company to be so desperate to repo a car less than a month behind in payment. I had a death In my family and fell behind, barely. In my opinion they want you to lose the car so they can have it to resell and still charge you for it. Oh and yes they are definitely apart of car-outlet. I wouldn't deal with either company again. I would rather catch public transport or walk!! Oh the deserve 0 stars! 1 is being too generous!! Ps forgot to mention the car had issues when I got it and it was never disclosed to me. When I reached out to them within a week the sales rep at car outlet said they will fix it and gave me a number to call. Called the number and made an appointment. After it was fixed they told me a price of $682! According to the mechanic it wasn't wrote on the original deal/contract when purchased so in responsible for bill. Total Finance is the worst finance company I have ever dealt with. These people are trained to simply not help anyone in dire need. I suddenly became unemployed and was for several months. Even then I made payments. Towards the end of my unemployment, I became late on 2 payments. With hardship, I managed to catch up and was only late 2 weeks on the second one. During this time I had found a new position and was getting back on my feet. I called them to tell them I was getting back on track, to just wait for me 3 days so I could make the payment as I would be getting my first check. They did not budge. I literally begged them. I told them I was only late 2 weeks, I could 100% pay them 3 days later. They didn't offer to submit a check with an extended date, no payment plan, nothing. They claimed to give me options, but it was more of a demand. They stated that if I didn't pay by the end of the day, they would process the account over to legal. This wasn't an option. I simply didn't have the money. The worse part about this company is that they lecture you. I understand that when you sign a contract, you are committing to paying your vehicle on time; I 100% percent understand that. However, we can't predict the future. Sometimes people fall into hardships. We didn't expect it. It's stressful and embarrassing to fall behind on payments. There are companies out there who help people in these situations. Say what you want about Comed, but at least they give some workable options. Total Finance is simply in it for the money, and it doesn't matter how they get it from you. They will not work with you. And to top it off, they lecture you. Both Ruben and his supervisor did nothing to help me. They began giving me examples of what would happen if I didn't pay my rent, questioning and touching on personal things that didn't really have anything to do with our issue. There was no need to get into those topics. For one, it was unprofessional and inappropriate. Second, I am not their child and did not appreciate them talking down to me in that matter. I was practically begging them for their help, and after a short while, they just became rude and defensive. They threatened to hang up and eventually they shut me down. Never in my life have I been treated this way. I have worked hard my whole life, becoming an engineer, and they treated me like I was a peasant asking for a handout. I just went through a rough patch like many decent people do. They should not treat people this way. It should have never gotten to this point. I was not behind months, just 2 weeks. I was shocked how aggressive they were. I called back several times, not to beg them anymore, but to get more information about the collections/legal department. They refused to give my further information. Not a number or a name. For example, and for the sake of this review, let's say Comed sends your account to legal. There is always a line or a person you can contact. Not at total Finance. Ruben repeated over and over that there is no number and he can't help me, followed by him hanging up on me. How terrible. They treat you all kinds of good when they want you to sign their contract, but when you need their help, they treat you like garbage. I treat people like I want to be treated. These folks moral is so broken down that they're okay with treating other humans like garbage. Eventually, I ended up getting more information from the receptionist. I had to wait until the account was processed and assigning to someone in legal, but since there is no actual number to reach the legal department, I am assuming that the department doesn't physically exist. Likely, they have a handful of people working "legal" and it simply gets assigned to one of those individuals. Who knows, that's all I could come up with because not having a contact number for the legal department or the collections department doesn't make any sense. In conclusion, I DO NOT recommend this place at all. Not a single bit. I understand it's hard to get a vehicle, and sometimes we jump on the first option we get but please, find out who the finance company is. Car Outlet 100% is part of Total Finance so beware. Try your very best to avoid them.If I could give them 0 stars I would. read more

I need to take my recently purchased vehicle (5 months) to them to fix cause of engine issues. The staff dont know who to take direction from, when you call they transfer you to everyone but you get no real no real answers. I have left my car (my main form of transportation) with them with over two weeks and counting. They didn't tell me that I needed to fill out MORE paperwork before I can actually take my car out. So my car is just waiting on a lot because there was no communication with following steps. So I go to the main office and the employee is telling me that my bank statement is not enough as a proof of address and wanted my insurance proof (which is in my vehicle in their lot currently). So I had to go back at the same time the next day the employee who was working with me was not there. I was told to wait he would arrive at such time. When he never arrived. I was told he would be about 2 hours later or more. And no one else can help me to get started on my paperwork. So here I wait having to wait another day making it 3 weeks without my vehicle that I am still paying for ON TIME obviously. If you can possibly avoid using any of their services, I strongly encourage you to do so. Be aware of all of the low ratings Total Finance has, and you'll notice that all of the issues are quite similar- They do not care whatsoever about the people, but more so on the money they can squeeze out of you. I tried financing a car from a dealership that uses Total Financing, and end up getting ripped off and got a new one torn. If you can by any means avoid using their services, you will literally be saving yourself years of your life that you can avoid stressing over. After finding out that the car I had been sold was in poor mechanical condition and only lasted a few weeks running, I tried contacting the dealership about my issues with the vehicle- and received extremely poor customer service. That being said, in an attempt to save myself the trouble, I had called about a dozen times to tell the finance company that I intended to send the car back to the dealership with all of the documentation- and not until the last try did someone pick up the phone only to say "our company is shutting down, there's nothing we can do to help you." So I got the car towed to the dealership to avoid having to pay for a car that won't work. I got charged a little over $400 after not hearing anything from them in months- money that I had not even authorized to be taken from my account. I recently was in the hospital and almost died. Did they care not one bit! Did they offer to extend the payment... Not at all. What they did was harass my whole family! Do not buy or Finance anything from this company Total Finance LLC/Car Outlet before you do your research on the car that you want. Dealt with Finance company since February 2014 the worst customer support with the only attitude that they only want your only. Check Carfax, dealer recalls and of course reviews and Blue Book value before you buy and sign your life away. I will admit I did not do any of this and regret it. My car was way over priced with very high mileage. It was my fault. Within weeks, the check engine light came on. The accessory plug crumbled in my hands when I tried to charge my phone. The back windshield wiper motor was shot and kept running when the car was turned off. Could not figure out why battery was being drained. It almost stumped the mechanics. I bought it with a limited warranty which would cost you $350 for each incident when you bring it in including a diagnostic charge. Had car serviced 2 weeks prior to warranty expiration because it was running slow and check engine light kept coming on. They said they replaced some corroded wires. The check engine light went off for about one month. I took it to a Major dealer and a excellent mechanic later and had it evaluated and repaired properly. AS-IS is AS-IS. No lemon law on used cars in IL. If you buy a piece of junk, it's yours. Buy a certified used car and try to stay off these kind of car lots. A warning I had ignored from my mechanic. (I have a folder of repairs from a legitimate mechanic company since 2014.) Easy pay (Total Finance) will work with you alright...yeah it will cost you. I could have bought a new car after adding it all up. By the way the customer service is poor. Never received the payment book as promised and wants you to come in person with your cash or credit card. Beware of the REFERRAL form that they ask you to fill out over 9 names I think. It's NOT for referrals it's for only to call everyone to find you to pay your bill. This is illegal per IL Attorney General and false advertising.  BUYER BEWARE! read more

I am a towing company that has had the misfortune of having to deal with this company. After 30 days of claiming that they were going to come and pick up their insured's car, they informed me that they were not going to pick it up but abandoned it at our tow lot. I have had the worse experience with this insurance company. Every time I call to get an update on the status of my claim they give me the run around. It's been three weeks and every time I call I am told something different by different representatives. When my accident first happened it was on July 6, they were supposed to pick up my car from the tow place on Thursday July 7, never happened. The car wasn't picked up until the following week. Where apparently it has just been sitting there. I didn't know getting estimates would take more than two weeks to come in. I have called several times over the past few weeks and they keep telling me they are waiting on estimates. I called yesterday and they told me they have all the estimates and it needs to go in to review. I received a call from a representative asking me if I would be interested in another car if it is a total loss. A total loss? The damage was just to the bumper and was still drive-able. There is no way that is a total loss. I called today to get an update and the representative tells me they are STILL waiting on another estimate and they went last night to do an estimate,, even though I was told yesterday they have all the estimates. It has been a complete nightmare dealing with this insurance company which I had no choice but to get this insurance since CarOutlet gives you no choice. The representatives are also rude and condescending. I was even hung up on a few times. What great customer service (sarcasm). I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and will be leaving negative reviews on every directory I can. Everyone should be aware of the customer service they provide and the very little that they do for you when in need. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!This place has the worst customer service!!! First off, my credit is poor and they know this but also know you need a car. I asked what the percentage rate was and there answer was "does it matter you need a car".....Really??? Yes it matters! They did not give me the percentage rate, I had to look at my contract and then realized they are charging me 26% of interest. For those of you not familiar with what the rate should be, about 10% should be the most maybe 15% depends on how bad your credit is but 26% is ridiculous. I've seen ppl with good credit get a rate of 3%. Another example, I was late a week on my payment and they literally harassed me at work, called 5 times in one day. I told them i needed a few days and they continued to call my job and persisted to speak to a supervisor. When I told them to stop harassing me they literally started cursing at me. I felt so disrespected and appalled that a place of business allows their employees to speak to you that way. I have had a loan with Chrysler before and never had that happened, if you were late the company allowed an extension, this company does no such thing. This company has me fed up, its unprofessional and a low budget place of business. They take advantage of the hard working ppl that need a car by charging a high percentage rate and any kind of penalty fee they can think of. WARNING!!!!Stay away from this place! read more
