We recently had Total DJ Entertainment do our wedding reception in May 2018 at Crest Hollow Country Club. We went to a couple of wedding expos in LI before we chose a DJ and found a lot of the groups there that did demonstrations looked cheesy or tacky. My husband has then suggested using Total DJ Entertainment since they had done his sister's wedding about eight years ago and he wanted to use them since they had entertained their family before and kept them happy with music selection. We initially met with Michael at their home office upstate. He was very genuine and professional. He wanted to make sure that our wedding ended up perfect. He walked us through all the different packages they offered and we decided to opt for the platinum package. The platinum package included the nice name monogram and light up Dj booth a four television set up, so our guests would be able to see the photo montage. They also had played cocktail hour music to keep our guests entertained before the reception. Michael was very organized by giving us a worksheet to list the introductions, songs and what to play and not play in the night to fill out, so he knew how to make our reception perfect. Michael was our master of ceremony (MC) for the night along with the DJ and one other assistant for the photo montage. Michael did a fantastic job with helping host the reception as the MC. Him and his crew helped keep our family and friends entertained. Our friends and family had nothing but good things to say about how Total DJ Entertainment was able to keep the night going on without a dull moment. They also did a great job of the photo montage mixing Micheal Buble's "I Believe In You" with the photos we provided. We loved how everything turned out and would recommend them to anyone. read more

DJ Squints (Michael) went above and beyond to make our wedding day and night perfect! He is absolutely fabulous and all of our guests were raving about him the entire night. Our dance floor was packed until the end which is exactly what we had hoped for. He was super helpful and communicated everything to our guests so they knew what was going on throughout the night. This DJ company sent a guy who was unprofessional and rude towards guest. Not to mention the owner Mike had promised he was going to DJ the party. What bothered me the most was he was continually vaping his e-cig while working a party in a catering hall. Believe all the negative reviews and do not hire Total DJ for your event. read more

Look no further! My wife and I got married April 2019. Our family and friends still talk about the music at our wedding to this day! We hired Mike and from the first day we met him at the Total studio we knew he was our DJ. Mike and the entire Total staff are so accommodating from the planning process to the last song of the evening! We danced all night, the music was perfect. It was like they personally knew our family and friends. We had the platinum package with 4 tv screens, photo montages for our first dance and parent dances. THEY MADE ME HAVE THE WORST NIGHT OF MY LIFE I had Sonny, and he didn't pass out the prizes and he had no one on the floor. I do not understand all of these great reviews. They are probably Next Generation in disguise. He did not get to know us at all, and we didnt receive our video until around six months after my bat mitzvah, and we had to call in several times first, and also it had some scenes repeated. I hired Next Generation as a DJ for my wedding in Westchester this November. Everyone was very professional and congenial. We ordered the extra lighting which looked really neat in the pictures. Very early on I (the bride) had to ask the DJ to turn down the volume, as it was too loud. I can't know for sure, but that may have caused him to not play one single song we had listed for dance music. He did actually play one song we asked for, but that was after pretty much everyone had left. Other than that, it was an evening full of music I had never heard before, and hopefully will never hear again. Awful. And worse, I am a musician, and so were a lot of the guests, and I kept apologizing for the music. It was embarrassing. But the part that I still don't know how I'm going to get over, is that he never played the Hora, and this was a Jewish wedding. We didn't remember until it was too late, and I shouldn't have had to remember that, as we were busy remembering so many things on our wedding day. So we never got to be the bride and groom lifted up on the chairs. I will forever regret hiring Next Generation for this reason. read more

Overall, Total DJ did a good job for my wedding, but if I had to do it over again, I'd go with someone else. The music was good and the guests had a good time, but what went on "behind the scenes" left me with a bad taste. We had spoken with the owner several times about being the DJ for our wedding and he assured us he would be there. In fact, we were verbally told it cost more money to specifically have him there, which we paid because we liked him. Come wedding day, without warning, he didn't show up and sent two people that we had never spoken to before in his place. That was stressful enough, but then we had to spend time throughout our wedding night going over the details with the new people, that we'd already gone over in our pre-wedding meeting with the owner, which was annoying. The final nail in the coffin was the DJ playing the wrong song for my dance with my stepdad (I requested You've Got A Friend by James Taylor, I got the Toy Story theme song "You've Got a Friend"), not what I was looking for and really upsetting as it ruined the dance for me. I personally wouldn't use them again. Entertainment is an important part of a wedding and I wouldn't want anyone to be blindsided like we were. read more
