I tried this place on a suggestion of a friend and I am SO glad that I did. I came in for a Brazillian (Hollywood style, actually) wax and a pedicure. They were able to slot me in with only a day's notice Initially there wasn't an appt available for the pedicure but he put me on the waiting list and called me a couple hours later with a cancellation. YAY. Anyway, when I first walked in the decor and smell is AMAZING. It definitely had a cozy spa feel to it. There was a gorgeous dog in there being a super good boy and minding his own business. I adore dogs, so this was a huge plus to me. He's not allowed upstairs in any of the treatment areas though, so he's not an issue. The man at the desk was extremely knowledgeable on all the procedures offered at this spa and he was very friendly as well. They accept VAT form and are willing to hold on to it in case you want to use multiple visits on the same form. So, on to my services!
The wax. Mind you, I haven't had a wax in over a year; not since leaving the states. ALSO, prior to going here, just a few days before actually...I'd gotten super intoxicated and thought something along the lines of, I know how to wax. I don't need a salon. I'm brave. I can do this shit.
No. I can't. Especially not drunk. So I already had a few areas that were quite short, waxed off, ect. So I will not blame the aestetician for the poor results in that area. You're supposed to let your hair grow to 1/4 of an inch prior to getting a wax and I'm not sure if I was there yet. Initially, the temperature of the wax was fine, but as she went over the same areas multiple times it actually felt quite awful and I vocalized it. She kept saying it was normal however and kept applying the wax. At the end of it all I was able to survive it (are bikini waxes ever meant to be pleasant?) and was left with a relatively hair free....hoo ha. My only issues with the wax was in the next coming days I got several large ingrown hairs which I normally don't experience with waxing. However, I understand that I didn't exactly give her the perfect canvas to work with. In another 3 weeks I will be returning for my next wax and I will update my review as necessary.
For the pedicure! This has been my most FAVORITE pedicure since coming to Germany. The girl who did it was super sweet and did a great job. She sold me on the parafin wax which I'm glad she did because my feet STILL look amazing a couple weeks later. I only have one tiny chip, and it's not due to her workmanship or polish quality, it's because I got drunk the other night and tripped. Are we seeing a trend here? Minus that one snaffoo, my polish still looks perfect.
The prices were amazing. For both services and with the VAT removed I only paid 67E. And with the currency exchange the way it is, that's a price that cannot be beat! Everyone in the spa speaks flawless English making it even more of a perfect choice, because let's be honest...hot wax...my lady garden...and a language barrier are three things that should never go together. read more
