Christina of Tortoise and was Hare Pet Care has given me the opportunity to visit family out of state or go on vacation without the typical nagging anxiety I feel for leaving my cat-child at home.
From the moment she walked into my home for our first (no-charge) consultation, I knew, despite attempts to remain objective, that she was for us. She immediately picked up how to behave around our odd girl- that she's loving, but prefers to play like a cat many years younger. Instead of just getting right down to business, she spent the first five minutes just "saying hello." Then, we went over paperwork, safety questions (noting the locations of everything from cleaning products, to the thermostat, to a carrier in case of emergency). She was clearly experienced, professional and discussed every concern that I could think of. She's also insured, bonded, and certified in Pet CPR.
When we were out of town, Christina updated us while she was at my home with photos of whatever the two of them were getting up to. She let me know right away if anything atypical was going on, and otherwise, just sent quick "everything is fine!"
When we return from a trip, she leaves us a friendly green piece of paper, a "diary" logging what happened each day, how kitty behaved, etc. She watered my (pathetic, neglected) plant without even being asked a few times, took in our mail, and rotated lights in the house according to our preference. A few times, she even left Kitty with a little present. I've temporarily left Boulder, but I will surely take up with her business again as soon as I return, as losing access to her was one of the most disappointing parts of the relocation, outside of missing Boulder itself. Thank you, Christina!! read more
