Torrison is as good as it gets! We live in a clearing in the woods, where we have a variety of perennials, shrubs and trees. Ten years ago they put a lovely patio, wall and walkways; now, they refurbished the gardens into a little paradise (especially for bees, birds and butterflies). Torrison has provides great ongoing landscaping services, and we look forward to having them expand the patio and put in a fire pit next month. I need to change - wish I could delete my other review. The owner, Tyler reached out to me. Although Tyler does not feel the power washing caused the stones to lift and become uneven, we had a great conversation. I realize the original installer did not do a good job; however, the stones were not uneven. Anyway, Tyler made the first move to have a conversation. Today, he sent two of his men to reset some of the stones and redo the polymeric sand around them. He has gone out of his way to make this as right as it can be. I appreciate his efforts. read more

Let me start by saying that the only reason that they even get a single star is because the end product that I asked for turned out to be a nice addition to my property. With that said, the rest of this review will be largely negative for a variety of reasons that I will describe below. Let's get the positives out of the way. The person who took the initial measurements of the property was personable and professional. In addition, as mentioned above, the actual outcome (a walkway) ended up being pretty nice. Now for the negatives, which make up the majority of my experience with this company. 1) scheduling: when I made the decision to go with them, I asked them when the work would be started. Their response - call us back in 3 weeks or so and we'll see if you're on the calendar yet... What good looks like to me is that they tell me a target, and then get in touch with me regularly as we get closer to the date. In addition, even though they eventually told me the date, they showed up unannounced two weeks early (no joke - they just showed up, assuming it was ok to get started...). To add to that, they didn't finish the first day, and said they'd be back the next day. Well, they didn't show up, so I had to call the office...again... They ended up coming the following day. 2) the job site: there are too many problems to list here, but I'll do my best. First, they dug up a bunch of dirt for the walkway, and they just threw it on the grass surrounding the area. So much that I had to replant grass seed in the area. Second, for a company with "garden" in their name, they sure do seem clueless in terms of how to work a garden. Specifically, they dug up parts of our garden, and, instead of putting it back, they just placed the dug-up plants on top of the dirt (vs. replanting them). In addition, they tossed a bunch of dirt on top of the newly mulched garden area... Third, when digging, they cut an exposed root to a tree in the yard. I guess we'll see in about 7-9 months if the tree survived... Finally, they went in my fenced-in back yard for some reason. Well, instead of closing the gate when they left, they left it wide open, which would be fine if I didn't have kids and several animals who roam the backyard... 3) communication: last but not least, their communication was quite subpar. Aside from the scheduling mishaps, they were unresponsive to email, and messed up my final invoice (added a line item for a $750 project they didn't do...). Overall, this was a poor experience. I would strongly recommend against anyone doing business with this company. Keep looking - you can thank me later. read more

Torrison did a great job with some recent complicated landscape work for our water front property. Colleen Kinyon was the point person and she had some great ideas upfront and then she and the entire team executed the plan very well, looking out for us the same way they would look out for one of their own family members. Torrison put up a very expensive long wall for me. Within a month the wall started falling down. We would complain and they would put it back up and within a month the wall would fall again in another spot. This continued for two years and they never offered to fix it properly. We had to hire someone else to come in and correct the terrible job. Stay away!!! read more

My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the job Torrison did on installing our new patio, including a retaining wall and a separate seating wall. Dominick, our project manager, was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the whole process, no matter how many questions we asked and different scenarios we asked about (different pavers and walls, different sizes and layouts of the patio, etc), and he was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. Edwin and the rest of the installation crew did a fantastic job in every respect, and their work was seamless and required little or no communication, so it seems clear they're all experienced and have been working together for some time. They cleaned up very neatly after the job was done, even putting down grass seed in some spots. We would certainly use Torrison for other projects in the future, and we would highly recommend them. read more

My visit to the store was May 7, a home visit was scheduled for May 24. He was prompt and courteous, measured my job, went over pricing options and told me a estimate would arrive "by the end of the week". 10 days later I contacted this employee was told "your estimate is ready, I just have to run it by the owner, look for it later today or tomorrow" 2 weeks later still no estimate. This is very frustrating, I would've rather been told they are too busy, my job is to small, my home is too far etc, then be ignored. very poor customer service, I suggest you go elsewhere read more

Had a patio done last September. Very professional work, including excavation to level the patio area and digging a trench to lay a conduit for the fire pit. A big shout out to Nello, who went above and beyond by returning several times over the next few months as I wrangled with the propane company about getting the actual gas out to the fire pit, even though Torrison's work was complete and I had paid in full. From the very beginning they were a pleasure to work with. The office staff, the onsite consultation from Lee, the scheduling, and the crew were superb. The project began on time with the crew coming in the morning and leaving in the early evening finishing amazingly in 2.5 days. We called Torrison about a safety issue in our backyard and were hoping they could come up with a landscaping solution for it. First off, this is a business where an actual friendly professional answers the phone. Very refreshing. After coming out to our house to look at the problem, their honest assessment was that there was no safe landscaping solution for our problem, so they referred us to a different type of professional. We have used Torrison twice for stone projects, and twice for gardening projects. The first work they did was a new walkway and refinishing our front steps. The representative that came to our house was very nice and professional. They worked with us nicely on scheduling as we were having our driveway repaved at the same time and it needed to be coordinated. They were timely and provided a beautiful finished product. We were so impressed that we decided to have them do some gardening work. They came out and looked at the area, said they would get back to us and never did. When the sidewalk was finished the representative that we had worked with on the sidewalk project asked who was going to be replanting the front of the house and I told him my experience with the gardening side. He asked us to give them another chance, which we did. They did a beautiful design and then the wheels came off. They did a horrible job planting, (some of the root balls were 3-4 inches out of the ground, they didn't tamp down the soil around the new plantings, didn't set up tree wells for watering) I basically replanted the entire thing. They charged me for mulch that I had purchased and had for them to spread. It took many phone calls, emails and months to get that corrected. They took a swipe out of our brand new driveway with a piece of equipment and didn't tell us about it! We decided to have the stone side of the business do another project for us this year and I think they have been taking lessons from the gardening side. They estimated the job would be done mid-May. I called every week to see if they were coming the following week and they kept telling me it would be the next week but then never called. Finally in mid June they gave me a firm date and time. We go the area prepared for them and waited. They were supposed to arrive at 8-8:30. At 10:30 I called the office and left a message (no one answered the phone!) An HOUR later they called to say they wouldn't be coming until THE NEXT WEEK! Once again they did a beautiful job when they did arrive, but I will not be calling them again! read more

My wife and I built our house in 2015. Torrison stone came out and we hired them to do the work. Thats where we went wrong. First: The owner measured in the wrong location from where I told him. Second: The Foreman was deficient in his attention to detail and his emotional intelligents as well as the owner. When we started the job I asked the owner if the patio would sink due to new construction. He was only concerned about making money. The patio did sink after 1 year. I called and they did send someone out but they only fixed the area part of the area. The patio continued to sink in other locations, and I followed up again, but again they sent someone that lacked attention to detail and only reapplied the stone dust to the pavers. I now have to pay someone else to pull up 1/3 of the patio and redo it. I didn't even want to give him a STAR. I wish I could post the pictures. In the end Torrison made money, and I have a product that started to fail within the first year, and requires severe attention to fix Torrison's work. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

awful, doesn't listen, when a mistake is made, he tries to convince you that you ordered it and makes you pay to make the change, owner doesn't show up to the site daily and leaves a crew there that doesn't speak English, plays games to get what he wants, use anyone but this company read more
