They have a lot of the machines I like so that's a plus. The owner was nice but wouldn't let my wife and I have a single free day to try out the gym. Felt the pressure and caved to get a membership. Canceled after 2 months. Regular fees etc associated with the process. He seemed to be intense and want to nickel and dime for ever last penny which ended up costing him a lot more than the 16$ day pass we would've gotten "free". Just go to your apt gym or another one. Also it's on the third floor and so if you drop and weight at all they get mad.

When I went back to check my membership January I dealt with Kala at the front desk. She was nothing less than miserable and nasty to not only me but another man and his teenage son checking in for a workout. I will speak with someone further if requested. I would not advise this planet fitness to anyone at this time. This Kala person should not be in a customer service position and leave her misandry behavior elsewhere if she is not terminated with cause as it is not possible for this to be the only complaint and very bad for business.

So. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews. I usually give any business the benefit of the…read moredoubt and also give them a chance to make things right. But that did not just happen. So I called to cancel my Hotworx membership about 4-6 months ago. At that time I was told that it would cost a large fee to cancel the membership, so as a courtesy, they would just put my account on hold or "freeze" with no fee. I was also told on the phone that I could call back when I wanted to "unfreeze" the account. Great. However.... My "membership" was a direct withdrawal from my bank account, and (my bad) I didn't notice that for some reason it was "unfrozen" 3 months ago, at a rate of $59 a month. When I called today to speak with them, they said if I wanted to cancel, it would be $99. This is in ADDITION to the $180 they collected for the last 3 months for turning my account back on. $280 for a mistake that they made. After speaking to 2 individuals (I'm assuming the 2 women who own the store), they said that they would do me a courtesy of canceling my membership for "free", but they would not remove the 3 months of fees. When they turned my membership back on, they did not inform me by email, voicemail, or text. So I was not aware it was back on. They said that, per their contract (that my husband signed, as it was a gift) they did not need to notify me. When I asked why it was turned back on without my permission, they said that this was in the paperwork i signed to freeze the account. I said I called on the phone to cancel, and the woman said that she would freeze for free and I could call back when i wanted to come back. She said I must have been misinformed on the phone, but again referred back to the fine print of the original contract. So, she said I was misinformed on the phone, but still charged for 3 months with absolutely no notification (other than my bank statement), and given this fact, they still would not work with me (other than waiving a $99 fee to cancel). I really thought these women were running a great business there. I enjoyed going there when I got the membership. But this business practice really left a bad taste in my mouth.
