So. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews. I usually give any business the benefit of the…read moredoubt and also give them a chance to make things right. But that did not just happen. So I called to cancel my Hotworx membership about 4-6 months ago. At that time I was told that it would cost a large fee to cancel the membership, so as a courtesy, they would just put my account on hold or "freeze" with no fee. I was also told on the phone that I could call back when I wanted to "unfreeze" the account. Great. However.... My "membership" was a direct withdrawal from my bank account, and (my bad) I didn't notice that for some reason it was "unfrozen" 3 months ago, at a rate of $59 a month. When I called today to speak with them, they said if I wanted to cancel, it would be $99. This is in ADDITION to the $180 they collected for the last 3 months for turning my account back on. $280 for a mistake that they made. After speaking to 2 individuals (I'm assuming the 2 women who own the store), they said that they would do me a courtesy of canceling my membership for "free", but they would not remove the 3 months of fees. When they turned my membership back on, they did not inform me by email, voicemail, or text. So I was not aware it was back on. They said that, per their contract (that my husband signed, as it was a gift) they did not need to notify me. When I asked why it was turned back on without my permission, they said that this was in the paperwork i signed to freeze the account. I said I called on the phone to cancel, and the woman said that she would freeze for free and I could call back when i wanted to come back. She said I must have been misinformed on the phone, but again referred back to the fine print of the original contract. So, she said I was misinformed on the phone, but still charged for 3 months with absolutely no notification (other than my bank statement), and given this fact, they still would not work with me (other than waiving a $99 fee to cancel). I really thought these women were running a great business there. I enjoyed going there when I got the membership. But this business practice really left a bad taste in my mouth.

They even let me borrow a pair of tanning googles my first day. The gym has a nice layout to it, lots of equipment, and is kept very clean. The black card area is one of the best. They have great up to date tanning beds and stand ups all with fresh bulbs. There are also several different massage chairs / hydro beds for guests to enjoy. I'm sure I'll be back for more in the upcoming weeks.

She was nothing less than miserable and nasty to not only me but another man and his teenage son checking in for a workout. I will speak with someone further if requested. I would not advise this planet fitness to anyone at this time. This Kala person should not be in a customer service position and leave her misandry behavior elsewhere if she is not terminated with cause as it is not possible for this to be the only complaint and very bad for business.

He keeps all of your physical abilities and goals in mind as he custom designs a fitness program and adapts to your progress. No biggie, we instead opted to stack our appointments in the only way that was available: a massage and a facial at 9:30, and another massage and facial at 10:30. The morning of our appointments at 8:30, an hour before our appointments, they called to tell us their facial person had a fever. Our other option was getting a facial at 11 or at 2. We decided to cancel entirely. If you are claiming to be a spa, I'd assume there'd be multiple employees available to service various needs. I also find it ridiculous that they have a 24 hour cancellation policy, however we were only given an hour notice of our facials being canceled.

They offer water aerobics classes as well as open swim time too. The reason I left this gym is because there needed to be some upgrades with the fitness equipment. The group classes were great, but when I finally progressed in my fitness journey, it did not measure up. The weight machines were pretty old, and left much to be desired. They did have great personal trainers there, but I still wanted more when I had to do workouts on my own. I felt that with all the money we were investing that they could have upgraded machines once a year or something. Just so you know that they care about your needs. The service was great, and the staff was amazing. I must say that if they were to ever update their equipment. I would definitely return, but there are other gyms that offer all of these classes with better equipment. Granted these other places do not have that sense of camaraderie that this gym does, but I like updated stuff too much. Give me technology and a smooth glide.

So many workouts to choose from. I met some amazing people all on a journey to get healthy. I lost inches and pounds.
