You are not required to take off your shoes (unless it's been raining). The space doesn't have a reception table either where you usually wait in the waiting area where your therapist will come get you when they are ready. What's great about this place is that they do not accept or expect tips. The therapists are happy to cater your massage session to your needs. I went recently after a recommendation from a friend. I booked a 60 min massage with Erin after work. Prior to going to your session, it is advised that you fill in the intake form to save time. Day of the appointment, I went to RMT Studio 10 min before my massage. About 5 min after settling in and sitting down my RMT came to find me. Erin was extremely professional and listened to where I needed treatment most. She provided some suggestions in regards to what areas she could work on and gave me a choice on what to choose. During the massage, if you are not comfortable with being full unclothed, you are free to be clothed. The 60 massage went by so quickly. I found that the pressure wasn't as strong as other massages I've done previously. However, the night of and days after that I felt how effective the massage was. Erin definitely worked on the areas I asked her to and can't wait to return for the massage I booked in Nov again! Reasonable prices, knowledgeable massage therapists, beautiful relaxing space, and effective massages to target your problem areas. They also do direct billing as well for some insurance companies but they will send you a receipt afterwards if you'd like to claim insurance for other insurance providers. The room she uses for massages is small but never feels cramped, thanks to the layout and décor (regarding the latter, it's really cool!). There's a space for everything, including a dish for your jewelry. Nicki makes you feel comfortable immediately, going over every part of the process from paperwork to treatment. You can choose the essential oils you want her to use, if you like (which I did, lemongrass and ylang ylang). The bed is warm, with adjustable temperature, and you can have hot towels incorporated into your massage. I was glad to have both. Bed and towels aside, my actual massage was excellent. My appointment today was 60 minutes long and Nicki didn't waste any of that time. She's so good at what she does that I followed Nicki to this new location from another clinic. The other clinic was quite close to my office but it doesn't matter, the extra distance is worth it. Nicki's fees are pretty standard but the personal touches are what put her ahead for me. I always go for the scalp and face massage to close out the treatment, it's wonderful. She left a hot towel and dry towel for me afterwards, as well as a little candy. Oh! and her playlists. You can't miss the tacky neon sign out front giving a good indication if they are open or not. I was welcomed in heartily by a woman named Wiwi. She was very enthusiastic about my options for a massage here, and immediately tried up-selling me with the most expensive option, the 4-Hand Massage. She said "two girls are better than one" and who can argue with that, so I decided to give it a try. Looking at the prices, turns out there isn't any volume advantage with four hands vs. two, so unless you want to spend twice as much, this really doesn't make a lot of sense. Since the cost was so high, I opted for 30 min instead of 60 min. Since that's not a lot of time, and it takes time for me to relax, it didn't seem like much of a value. They can cover you quicker, but since you would get the same coverage in an hour, this would only be an advantage if you were in a hurry. So it could have its place. If you think you've tried everything these spas have to offer give it a shot. And consider checking out other options that look intriguing here, like the sea-salt massage, no idea what that is.
