The masseuse had a rough patch of skin on her hand that felt uncomfortable the entire massage. My feet were pressing into her chest most of the massage as well. Her phone also rang and she picked it up mid massage. Not sure why this place has such rave ratings because I've been to hundreds of massage places and this is subpar - at best. Note that if you're looking for somewhere to relax, the focus on feet here is more geared towards reflexology. You also will be placed upright in a stiff chair and your neck will hurt at the end of the "massage". The same classical song on repeat for an hour also became torturous. Never again.

We both wanted Thai massage, but they didn't have two Thai massage therapist at the time we requested. My boyfriend got the Thai massage. The therapist had long nails and kept on sliding his nails up and down my back actually making me feel tighter in the back as it was a bit uncomfortable. He also was very fast in his technique, with didn't loosen any of my tight muscles. He did try want to work together and do what I liked... but unfortunately when the technique isn't there, it's hard to explain what you want. And the worse part of the massage was that he used a scented oil on me that overwhelmed my scenes. I left there uptight and congested. I don't I would try this place again.

The massage was so good, and Anton was very experienced and diligent. I checked in, and was treated to water or tea. After filling in a consent form, I was led to the massage quarter by Anton. It was a mattress on the ground with some pillows, with some see through curtains offering limited privacy. There were dimmed and colourful lights, with some groovy exotic background music. I was given a T-shirt and some loose drawstring pants to change, and then Anton walked me through the process. He told me to relax all my muscles - to not resist nor help him in my movements - and that he'd start from the bottom and move upwards. The massage lasted for an hour, and it was the right balance of intensity and comfort. Some parts were of stronger pressure, but when the massage ended, I was so relaxed that I was near asleep! I loved the experience, and will definitely return!

I'm no expert but this was possibly shiatsu, although they told me this was Chinese massage, and it was different from the usual rmt in that they press on points as well as the usual moves. I was super happy with the service and value. Also the amount of effort she put into the job. I asked for 45 minutes which is $50 cash and seems a fairly standard price in Chinatown. The pace was much faster than I'm used to and it seemed that I almost got the usual 90 minutes worth in 45. Of course it's not the same, but quite impressive amount of work over the 45 minutes with no downtime or inefficiency. The room was small, clean and quiet, although I went in the evening when it wasn't busy. There was soft Chinese folk guitar twanging playing quietly in the room and the lighting was nice. The white disposable sheet on the table was great. I met two ladies when I went in, and it seemed like they were the only ones there. One was better at English. The one that massaged spoke only Chinese with rudimentary "ok" in English which was fine and I appreciated not wanting to talk. She ended up using the hot towels on my back which felt heavenly. I tipped $20 since that was all I had on my, but felt worth it compared to the usual $156 bill at the clinic with no tip. I'll be back and felt fantastic on the walk home and the next day.

After the soak and 10 Minutes in, came the constant interruptions of my masseuse, tending to other appointments coming in, making phone calls on her cell phone between touching me , talking to other patrons coming in. Did not hear or see the other masseuses cleaning their hands in a span of 5 seconds. Phone by my feet? Way to decompress hah. In the middle of my massage she asked if a male masseuse could replace me so she can tend to what it seem to b another appointment . I declined and then she proceeded to continue and then talk to a second appointment while being on her phone touching her cell phone and my feet. She then told the other man to undress and told him she would be there in 30 Minutes communicating from The other room. I got then moved To another room to complete my second half of the package and she left me there for another good long moment. She came back rushing, violently rubbing me quickly . Absolutely not peaceful at all. Then i said can you go Slower and she went softer. Then she got on the phone again speaking her language out loud massaging me With one hand . I asked her if she could take the call later she continued her call And ignored me and then she hung up and i asked her to stop. Then she kept saying no i will give u longer time i said no just stop . Will only pay for 30 Mins. Then she kept persuading me and i still declined. I was encouraged to get the 60 minute Shiatsu massage and bottom line, it's a rub and tug, if you know what I mean. It wasn't Shiatsu at all, they were probably trained on the spot, I could have done better with limited knowledge. Bottom line, if that's your thing , it was probably great, if you want a real shiatsu, Swedish or reflexology treatment, do your research, this isn't it. To be completely fair, I was at another spa close by a while ago for a foot massage and I doubt if it was any different, although I can't prove that, I only had the foot massage. Just an alert to anyone who maybe looking for a real massage, not a rub and tug.

What she lacked in communication, she more than made up for with mad skills in reflexology. Amazing! When I left the spa, I immediately noticed that what felt like a bruise on the bottom of one foot was completely gone. That's something I hadn't experienced before and was very impressive. I asked about the options for combos and when I said, how about the 45/60 min foot/body option for only $10 more than the 30/60, she said "too long" lol, ok I get it. Going by how hard she worked on my feet, that extra 15 minutes would be a killer grind for a measly $10 extra. Sasha was one of the friendliest people I've met in these spas, with a kiss and a hug to send me out into the winters night, nobody would complain about that kind of send off! Her body massage was top notch and I can highly recommend Nasha, for your muscle relaxation needs.

Dear All, I have been to a few spas in Toronto, NY, and…read moreelsewhere but never have I been treated in such a bad manner as today at Kawaii Spa. This was my third time to the spa and the first time were good. However, today I had a 2nd massage with Linda who works on Wednesday's who I found to be extremely deceptive, dishonest, manipulative, and harmful to any client/visitor. Although during an initial appointment she was nice just to get a repeat client, today she was verbally abusive and demeaning towards me, calling me fat where other massage woman have enjoyed my company and were inviting and cordial to my body who is muscular as well, where I am a very nice guy and tip extremely well everywhere. She left our scheduled appointment in the middle of it since another client that I overheard her negotiating a price with outside of my room door when I could hear them loudly...how unprofessional and vulgur...no class or good business taste. Furthermore, she said she had to run and as a result I would not have to leave a tip where I left her a tip of $100 the last time I was there, but then another girl came and demanded a tip...they were both loud, abusive, and constantly lying about what had occurred, which is certainly not only very bad customer service but demeaning to an individual. I am a highly respected gentleman where no one has ever spoken to me in this matter. As a result, since I have paid with a credit card and did not authorize a tip that they charged my card, I am disputing that charge without having to sue these two ladies at Kawaii Spa them for anguish and malicious behaviour/business practices. You can't miss the tacky neon sign out front giving a good indication if they are open or not. I was welcomed in heartily by a woman named Wiwi. She was very enthusiastic about my options for a massage here, and immediately tried up-selling me with the most expensive option, the 4-Hand Massage. She said "two girls are better than one" and who can argue with that, so I decided to give it a try. Looking at the prices, turns out there isn't any volume advantage with four hands vs. two, so unless you want to spend twice as much, this really doesn't make a lot of sense. Since the cost was so high, I opted for 30 min instead of 60 min. Since that's not a lot of time, and it takes time for me to relax, it didn't seem like much of a value. They can cover you quicker, but since you would get the same coverage in an hour, this would only be an advantage if you were in a hurry. So it could have its place. If you think you've tried everything these spas have to offer give it a shot. And consider checking out other options that look intriguing here, like the sea-salt massage, no idea what that is. According to their business card, they also have sauna and shower services which could round out your visit.

Upon entering the space, you are required to take off your shoes. There are shoe racks available to place your shoes. After checking in for my appointment (was early), I sat down in the waiting room to make myself comfortable. My massage therapist came to get me at the scheduled appointment time and she took me to a shared room with multiple chairs (I believe it was called their Tulum room). Luckily, I was the only person who would be in that room during my massage experience. My massage therapist, Amanda, was friendly and personable. We made small talk as she first massaged my hands and forearms. She made her way to my shoulders, back and scalp. A very relaxing experience! Overall, great space to unwind and relax. Would return for a full body massage next time!
