I can appreciate a relaxing massage with essential oils and spa-type flair, but after about 30 mins I'm a bit bored. The No Frills massage is just that - go in and cater to your needs. Amy is my go-to RMT. I have tried their RMTs, but Amy is brilliant for me because she provides deep-tissue massage and hits pressure points. If I am honest, it hurt quite a lot in the beginning but in the best way. I felt renewed after. Since it is downtown, I typically walk or bike because parking can be a pain. The building is right outside of College station, which is quite convenient.

None have compared to the massages from John. The location itself is more wellness and less spa based. It's basic - but more importantly clean and hygienic. It took a while to book my initial appointment, but it was worth it. All I want is to get my back cracked, I got that and more. In our first consultation, he checked my mobility and movement and assessed that I have a mild form of mechanical pain. He created a treatment plan of 5 sessions and included exercises that would help develop my core to prevent injury during sport/workouts and improve my posture. He went beyond that by providing a brief high-pressure targeted deep massage at the beginning of the first and each subsequent session. I wouldn't say it's relaxing, but I love the pressure. He'll adjust based on your tolerance though my motto is no pain, no gain, so I take it full on. We worked mainly on my upper, lower and mid-back. *TIP* If you want to work on your back, wear a tank top instead of a strappy sports bra. I've been working on those three exercises he taught me each day. I would say they are easy enough to add to your routine and incorporate daily. Oh and it's always wonderful when a clinic charges directly to my insurance, saves all the pain of admin work.

As soon as you walk in the door, past the stairs, you just feel this relaxing atmosphere. The place is clean, staff is friendly and they have a new easy online booking system, but space is limited so being on time is important. I once missed my appointment and had to reschedule, but staff were still extremely helpful and arranged another one for me on that same day. You won't find better customer service than Japanese customer service, it is top notch anywhere you go, and this place is no different.

Therapists at TSC will do traditional Shiatsu and also Acupuncture .They also use "moxibustion" and now have added a very interesting Japanese oil massage. Some of the therapists are RMT or have the acupuncture certification. The therapist I see most often (when she is available) is Chiho Yamaguchi . Thanks to TSC. Her care, warmth, intuition and expertise is beyond anything I've experienced- I feel safe, held and able to visit deep emotional places on a somatic level. He is extremely skilled at deep tissue massage, and his online booking system is beyond incredible. Everyone should adopt this, no need to hire a secretary. You can easily see his availability for weeks in the future and book your session accordingly. And cancelling at anytime is a snap -- of course don't make that a habit out of common courtesy. :) He also has direct billing to insurance working, not with my provider yet mind you but he's working on it. Paul's a great conversationalist too so your session is never boring, but he also doesn't mind when you suddenly fall asleep and start to snore as he works out those nasty kinks in your back. He's a sweet, older Chinese gentleman who really knows his stuff. Look, this is a no-frills place at the corner of Yonge and Davisville. Don't expect anything fancy whatsoever. But Kevin makes it special. He offers massage therapy, accupuncture, glass cupping and more. But I usually just go for massage because he truly knows how to work those super tight, stubborn knots in my neck, shoulders and glutes. It's good pain and a wonderful release. Super therapeutic.
