Here's what I like about New Skin: 1) Effective laser - I have tried 3-4 different lasers in the past and have had little to no success (I have have medium-dark skin with very dark hair). After just one treatment on my underarms I have almost stopped shaving! 2) Great staff - Taslim and her technicians are very professional. They are always making sure that you are comfortable and that you're not in any pain. Other places I've been make me feel really rushed and unimportant (especially when you use a Groupon like I did), but these guys are great! 3) No trouble getting in touch to book an appointment - Really easy to get an appointment, they will always get back to you. I've heard horror stories about places that sell tons of Groupons and then don't respond to phone calls. This is not that kind of place. 4) Virtually pain free - Overall the treatment is very comfortable, and since this is the type of laser that they keep in constant movement, you don't get that one 'flash' of pain. It just feels warm over your skin, and they will always ask if it's too warm for you and make adjustments if necessary. The only drawback with this place is that the office is kind of strange, the room you get the treatment in is really nice and clean but the waiting room is a little odd and there's no receptionist, you just have to wait until they're done with their last patient (so far they've been really punctual). Other than that I have no complaints at all. Just know that you're not going to walk into a super swanky spa or anything, the office is minimalist but it's clean and it gets the job done. I booked an appointment for a consultation, cut, highlight and style, with my mom who requested the same thing. Keep in mind it was $400 EACH for both of us. For starters, I felt like an inconvenience during my consultation (which I paid for) with the manager Joe, as he gave little input and just stood impatiently until I picked a colour. He didn't seem like he cared about his job at all, his vibe was off and he kept rushing away/disappearing for long periods throughout the process. He called my cowlick/sidepart "annoying," and randomly grabbed my phone out of my hand while I was texting and put it on the table (very odd). He also repeatedly insisted that our shampoos were awful, dramatizing the SLIGHT "heat" coming from our bleach foils to then hint towards his salons products. He also disappeared and left the foils on one side of my head for too long, which became apparent when one side came out slightly brighter. My hair looked nice... though almost the exact same as before and somehow streaky/uneven--NOT worth $400. Turns out, the right side of my hair was in fact an inch longer than the left... which I ended up fixing myself after being gaslighted by Joe who did a sloppy job. ALSO, my poor mom (her stylist was the owners wife, Amy) received unblended GREY highlights instead of the blonde ones she asked for, that looked nothing like her reference photo and aged her 10+ years. Amy quickly vanished when she saw the look on my mom's face--she KNEW she f'd up. With this coming from the OWNERS of the salon , we were both fed up and just left because we didn't want to deal after spending 5 hrs in there already. Overall, it was very overpriced ($800+ together) plus their customer service & performance quality was a HUGE let down. The only good thing about this place was the coffee lol. If you speak Spanish, definitely ask for Rigo so you can practice. THE APPOINTMENT: The Consultation: Rigo and I had a consultation and decided to dye my hair a darker red and add highlights. The Colour: Rigo definitely delivered on the highlights. I've been to other salons where they do the highlights and follow with dye washing out the highlights. Here, Rigo did both steps simultaneously and I can definitely see the highlights in the finished look. The Cut: The cut was ok. Rigo cut my hair well but I did notice one part that was a little long. It appears like the longest part of my hair is actually off center. I told him this after my appointment but he assured me I was wrong. Now that I've had the cut over a week I can confirm the part I thought was longer is a bit longer. He was also behind schedule of about 30 minutes and rushed at the end of my appointment and forgot to give me face shaping strands around my face. This is something I asked for at the beginning and he forgot. I noticed when I was home and I wasn't going to drive 2 hours to have him fix it. Would I go back? I probably would not go back. The salon is far from my house and I recently found my stylist from years ago who is the best hair dresser I ever had. Would I Recommend this salon for colour? Absolutely! Rigo did a great job on my colour. Rating: 3 stars--The salon was pretty average. The cut was mediocre (2 stars) and the colour was fantastic (5 stars).

I've had waxing once and the wax was too hot and my skin was red for 2-3 days afterwards/burnt from the hot wax so yOu have to be careful if you decide to do that. Again price was very reasonable. When you enter, one of the first things they do is promote their membership pricing and ask if you're interested. I had a bad feeling about the place when I got there because the decor was just a shell. The nurse was kind when I met her for my Botox injections though. A guy (the manager?) who was trying to hardcore promote the membership to me, was standing by the doorway of my treatment room and wreaked of cigarettes. The nurse did the injections. One thing I thought was interesting was that she injected really high up on my forehead but I didn't think much about it. When I went to pay, I was again told about the membership and how it's actually cheaper to pay for a seasonal membership and today's service together than just the service alone (I was thinking, "I only need Botox once a season anyway, that promo is silly). So I did that instead of paying for an annual membership because like I told them a few times, "I just want to try it out today." Yes, I paid less than my usual Botox place. But I'm pretty sure they watered the Dysport down because I'm seeing wrinkles already a month in. If something seems too good to be true, it's my lesson that once again, it's too good to be true. And oh, I looked into their Danforth location today, it's completely empty with no indication of where they currently are. If they're really relocating to a Broadview location, please don't go to this clinic.
