After a delightful tour around the island of Gotland, we found ourselves in downtown Visby with some time to kill before our ship departed.
I don't believe you can truly experience the culture of a place without a meal, so we wandered around hoping to find a place that could sit our large group of ~12.
Eventually we stumbled across this restaurant who was happy to accommodate us between two tables. Will note, one of these two tables was a community table, so we were sat with strangers. Doesn't bother me at all, just worth noting in case it's not your thing.
Luckily the menu was in Swedish and English, and we were able to find something to order quickly. I will say, the one negative about this place seemed to be the service. Servers seemed hard to locate and not really interested in taking our orders. They could have totally up-sold us on more alcohol, but they were mostly MIA.
Because I'm greedy, I naturally ordered more food that needed - The Shrimp Toast Appetizer, and a Seafood Pasta Entree (don't judge, this was my vacation week to eat all the carbs). Both were delicious and came out in a reasonable amount of time. All of the other dishes I sampled were quite good as well.
I liked the stonework inside and the atmosphere of the place. Will say however that the line for the single stall bathrooms definitely got a bit hectic at times as the restaurant was mostly full. read more
