This place is totally awesome to have a drink in. It looks great (especially the black & white motif), and its centrally located in the beautiful medieval town of Visby on the Baltic Sea island of Gotland in Sweden. But what was the best here?? The answer is the waiter. He was Swedish but had spent a year in Philadelphia and a summer in Vienna. We were on a cruise and stopped in Visby for the day. Walking around, we found this place for lunch. We really loved it. The food was presented in a lovely way. I ordered a chicken salad,and it was very tasty. We also ordered lattes. I admit that I had not had a good coffee for a long time, but the coffee was excellent as well. The ambience was also good. Relaxed and pleasing to the eye, with the decorating choices they made. The style in this restaurant is to go to the bar, order and pay. Food is then brought to the table. All in all, a very nice place, which we recommended. Being North American, we were only unhappy with the high prices....but we unfortunately accepted that. read more

We booked a table here but didn't get one. Yesterday I called to reserve a table at Vinäger according to the phone number on Yelp. I asked if I was talking to Vinägers hostess and when it was confirmed, I also confirmed the adress. When the four of us arrived, there was no reservation in my name but then the hostess found our reservation in the neighbouring Italian restaurant. She told us they have the same owners. As there was no free table at Vinäger, we had to move to the Italian restaurant. We had a pretty good meal but I prefer to be the one who decides where to eat and not to be shuffelled to where the owner has free tables. read more
