We came by since nothing else was open Labor Day. My partner got the Republican taco and I got the Shrimp tacos. We also always get the chips and queso on the side; their queso has a bit of spice; it's so good!! The tacos were wrapped in foil and labeled. We also got all our dressings on the side so they came in tiny containers to prevent our tacos from getting soggy. We'll definitely be back! read more

Torchy's Tacos - To-Go Frozen Sangria Swirl Regular Democrat Queso & Chips (VE) Republican - Tex-Mex Near Me - Richardson, Texas

My husband and I decided to pick up some breakfast tacos at Torchy's before heading out on the road to our next destination. My husband placed the order online, drove up, parked, and picked up our order. He said it was quick and easy. We both ordered potato, bacon, and egg tacos. He got some salsa with the tacos. The tacos were good. They packed the flour tortilla with a lot of egg, the bacon was chewy but flavorful, and the potatoes were like tater tots mixed in. I tried a small part of my taco with the salsa and it definitely added flavor. I ate the other part of the taco as it came and it was good. Overall Torchys is a good place to pickup a taco. The ordering and pickup process was easy and the taco was packed with tasty ingredients. read more

This was our first time to eat at this chain. It didn't get off to a great start as the woman taking our orders seems to be confused about the menu and specials. Once we got to out table with the receipt we discovered we had been over charged. However, at this point we didn't care. Just wanted to eat and be on our way. The food was served in waves, was hot and good. The mexican corn and cilantro rice was very good. The rest of the food was your run of the mill TexMex read more

Let's face it, there are a million choices when it comes to tacos and each has something unique to offer. Torchy's is a stand-out because of its consistency and deep menu. I've had just about every taco they offer and they've all been very good. Their Hillbilly Queso is always a good starter and they've have great margaritas. The restaurant interior is clean and inviting with a sports bar ambiance that is great for adults and families. There are many in direct competition and as I said earlier, they each have something unique to offer. Sometimes that's just a few items. Torchy's has depth of menu, quality ingredients, and consistent preparation of your order. I've been going to the Campbell/75 for years and have never been disappointed. read more

Staff was really helpful. Food came out as ordered, and hot. Torchy's has a fun vibe. Forever will love the queso and chips. Miss my favorite taco from the menu, the Independent. read more

It's ok for what it is. Everyone I was with really enjoyed their breakfast tacos. The consistency of the meat in the barbacoa taco was weird to me so I wasn't fond of it but the fried avocado taco was good. Large location with tons of seats and a bar! read more

I swung by Torchys and tried the Tipsy Chick and the new Republican and honestly both were winners The Tipsy Chick was creamy cheesy and had just the right kick from the jalapeños That bourbon glaze ties it all together in the best way Comfort food in taco form The new Republican was totally different but just as good tender brisket sweet corn salsa and tangy BBQ sauce It's like a little Texas barbecue tucked into a tortilla The service is always on point The staff is friendly quick and genuinely seems to enjoy being there It's the kind of place where you feel like a regular even if it's your first time The vibe is laid back and fun Great music cool decor and just the right amount of lively without being too loud Whether you're grabbing lunch or hanging out for dinner Torchys hits the mark on food service and atmosphere read more

My go to "fancy" taco place. Some of the best queso in town, we sit at the bar and the bartenders are always on point with drinks and food recommendations. Ambiance is chill and slightly hipster. Beer is cold, drinks are strong. I recommend sitting at the back facing bar for a less chaotic situation. read more

Great food. The queso is my favorite. It is addictive. All the sauces are great and very fresh. My favorite taco is the Democrat. I also love all of their breakfast tacos. This is my favorite for a quick takeout. Fast and fresh! read more

Tacos were good and the restaurant was very busy, which is usually a good sign. However, the service left a lot to be desired and unfortunately ruined what should have been a nice outing with my mother. Our margaritas came out last, after both appetizers and meals, which was odd but not the main issue. The bigger problem was our table. Because the restaurant was packed, we took the only table available, but it was dirty. We waited several minutes and no one came to clean it, so I finally asked a busboy to wipe it down. Instead of cleaning it properly, he wiped all the food and debris off the table directly onto our laps. My elderly mother ended up with broken chips all over her sweater and lap. There was no apology. I spoke with the manager, who did apologize, but nothing was done to make the situation right. He simply asked the same employee to sweep under the table. This experience really soured what could have been a nice time with my mom. Good food is not enough to overcome poor service and lack of care for customers. Unfortunately, we won't be back. read more

Service at the bar is always pretty fast, even at lunch time. The food never disappoints! My favorite is the democrat taco. Apparently they also have churros now which I haven't tried but would love to! The hillbilly queso has chorizo in it and MY GOODNESS is it delicious! I have never been here and this place not be packed. Somehow they always find a way to service everyone in a timely fashion. This place has more of a hip kind of vibe to it that just puts you in a good mood! read more

My option of torchys has drastically decreased with the new self-service kiosks. I hate that everything is headed this way. I just want to interact with a person when I order. And it's horrible to have a tip prompt when no one has helped me. read more

Service at the bar is great! Food to go has gone down hill. Soggy, and didn't include the sauces. Taco sizes are smaller. Been going to them since the 1st one in Austin; I'm sure they have been bought by a large company; not the same. read more

In a world divided politically, being able to order both a Republican taco and Democrat taco is incredibly refreshing (and delicious)

Visit: August 2021 If I wasn't so full from tamales and matcha drinks, I would have probably enjoyed my experience at Torchy's more. We were running late for the wedding, so we quickly grabbed Torchy's to go and went back to the hotel. The nostalgia of Torchy's! I tried Torchy's (at a different location) a few years back during a work trip and enjoyed it. I would definitely get this again and recommend others to try! We for sure got: 1) Queso dip 2) Elote corn 3) I think we prob got tacos, but I don't recall since we were in a rush Queso and elote were SO GOOD - must get. Tacos...you can't go wrong. Note that this is def more tex-mex, so the tortillas are made from white flour (reminds me of Taco Bell). The tacos are hefty size too, so I feel like 2-3 should be quite filling with some sides. read more

My husband and I crave the green chili queso and chips from Torchy's. Sometimes we only buy the queso and take it to go. My husband loves it so much he buys one for himself and one for me. He refuses to share, and he loves to double dip. Why is the queso so good? The cheese stays in a liquid state, but there are additional goodies found in the mix including green chilis, avocado, and cotija cheese. It's just the right amount of spicy flavor without the need to down a pitcher of margaritas, but they have those delicious frozen drinks available too. I personally love getting their taco of the month. A new creation comes out each month. It's always unique and delicious. read more

Outdated. The menu is boring at this point and the taco of the month is always an overreach. Last couple of times the meat has been dry and not as flavorful. And it's not just this location. It's pretty much the franchise. If I'm around one and I don't want to rack my brain about lunch I may stop in. But not high on my recommend list. read more

Food is good. Staff is great. Self service ordering system sucks. Doesn't save time or help.

Torchy's isn't the cheapest but it's not that expensive and it's super good! I've tried a lot of the menu but usually get 2 tacos (a Tipsy Chick and Brushfire) with a side of rice but I've never had anything I didn't like! The Democrat and Republican are also good (the only politicians I really care for)! Torchy's has some of the best chips and queso, great frozen margaritas and a super easy to use app! They're usually playing some good music (often a little too loudly) but we typically just order to-go! The people are always nice and friendly and the service is usually pretty fast! read more

Morgan was great today! Always love stopping in when I get off work. Food came out hot and delicious .. YUM

Went to Richardson Tx location. After trying to call in an order and being told they have to have a card number before placing it, I was transferred to another person. I later learned this was the manager that answered. I tried to order again to silence. I then DROVE over to location to be greeted not by a person but by a freaking kiosk to order. By this time I am so angry I almost leave. I got thru the order by kiosk and they have the nerve to ask for a TIP! I asked an employee there about the kiosks and he said they have had a large number of complaints. GET RID OF THEM Y TORCHEYS. THEY ARE A PAIN IN THE ASS! The food was ok but way overpriced. I used to like Torchys but they are too aggravating to do business with. read more

The tacos are amazing, especially the one with salmon. Guacamole here is excellent and I highly recommend. Plus they know how to make good alcoholic drinks. Their margaritas are superb and custom-made. Service was fast and courteous. The place was clean and we had no problem getting a table. This is one of my favorite taco places. read more

Terrible experience tonight. Avocado on literally every taco after specifically specifying we had an allergy. Not only that, food was ICE COLD. Boooooo. So, out of all the Torchy's I've been to, this location is probably my favorite. It's located in an awesome part of Richardson with plenty other restaurants/stores to explore that are all within walking distance. The restaurant itself is big and has both an indoor and semi-outdoor eating area complimented by the bar that serves both sides. The staff here is great and is always helpful wherever they can be. The food is great too, and have never had any problems with any of my orders. Overall, I definitely recommend if you're in the North Dallas area! read more

Amazing Service and the queso and margaritas are the best! Preston was very welcoming! We will return!

The food is good no complaints there but I've been here 4 times this year twice with my coworkers and each time the 2 girls at the front give me attitude going out of their way to be impolite and short with me but never my friends. Tonight I was just picking up a taco and queso to-go and as she nearly dropped it in my hand she looks at me sideways and says "that's wrong" with absolutely no context. All I had the opportunity to say was "yes, thank you" when I stepped up to the register as she asked me if I was picking up the to-go order in the window. I can't figure it out. I don't ever get this anywhere else. read more

Torchy's is fantastic! And this spot is as great as the others. Torchy's makes good tacos. I visited for breakfast and ordered two breakfast tacos from their Classics: Bacon, egg, and cheese: SO GOOD. All that needs to be said Chorizo, egg, and cheese. Also SO GOOD. What I love is that these tacos are huge and so affordable. This is the best deal for a taco that you're going to get. I ordered on a Saturday morning and there was no wait and not many people. My food was brought to me in 3 minutes. read more

My first every Torchy's experience was here in Richardson, TX and my life changed forever! I highly recommend their Green Chile Queso and Chips, it is easily the best queso I've ever had. The guacamole center in the melted cheese and hot sauce is a chef's kiss. Pro tip, as for some extra Diablo sauce on the side to help give it a bigger kick if you like spicy! Torchy's queso and hot sauces really are secret to their success. Relative to the queso, the tacos are good but nothing amazing. My favorite tacos however are the Fried Avocado but made trashy with Diablo AND Poblano sauce. The flavors enrich each other for the perfect meal. My next goal is to eat through the entire taco menu, replacing any meats with either fried avocado, eggs, or beans since I'm vegetarian. Im hoping to find a new favorite taco soon! I HIGHLY recommend Torchy's Tacos to anyone visiting the Dallas area. Will definitely be making multiple repeat trips! read more

Sad to see this place go downhill. Tried to go on a Tuesday dinner shift and appears the restaurant is now significantly understaffed. One poor girl trying to take orders was still working on 2nd customers order after 10 minutes in line. The manager must have been hiding in the back as she kept leaving to go ask questions in the kitchen. Stay away until hiring and training occurs. read more
