My husband placed the order online, drove up, parked, and picked up our order. He said it was quick and easy. We both ordered potato, bacon, and egg tacos. He got some salsa with the tacos. The tacos were good. They packed the flour tortilla with a lot of egg, the bacon was chewy but flavorful, and the potatoes were like tater tots mixed in. Tacos were good and the restaurant was very busy, which is usually a good sign. However, the service left a lot to be desired and unfortunately ruined what should have been a nice outing with my mother. Our margaritas came out last, after both appetizers and meals, which was odd but not the main issue. The bigger problem was our table. Because the restaurant was packed, we took the only table available, but it was dirty. We waited several minutes and no one came to clean it, so I finally asked a busboy to wipe it down. Instead of cleaning it properly, he wiped all the food and debris off the table directly onto our laps. My elderly mother ended up with broken chips all over her sweater and lap. There was no apology. I spoke with the manager, who did apologize, but nothing was done to make the situation right. He simply asked the same employee to sweep under the table. This experience really soured what could have been a nice time with my mom. Good food is not enough to overcome poor service and lack of care for customers. Service at the bar is always pretty fast, even at lunch time. The food never disappoints! My favorite is the democrat taco. Apparently they also have churros now which I haven't tried but would love to! The hillbilly queso has chorizo in it and MY GOODNESS is it delicious! In a world divided politically, being able to order both a Republican taco and Democrat taco is incredibly refreshing (and delicious)

My husband and I crave the green chili queso and chips from Torchy's. Sometimes we only buy the queso and take it to go. My husband loves it so much he buys one for himself and one for me. He refuses to share, and he loves to double dip. Why is the queso so good? The cheese stays in a liquid state, but there are additional goodies found in the mix including green chilis, avocado, and cotija cheese. It's just the right amount of spicy flavor without the need to down a pitcher of margaritas, but they have those delicious frozen drinks available too. I personally love getting their taco of the month. A new creation comes out each month. It's always unique and delicious. read more

Visit: August 2021 If I wasn't so full from tamales and matcha drinks, I would have probably enjoyed my experience at Torchy's more. We were running late for the wedding, so we quickly grabbed Torchy's to go and went back to the hotel. The nostalgia of Torchy's! I tried Torchy's (at a different location) a few years back during a work trip and enjoyed it. I would definitely get this again and recommend others to try! We for sure got: 1) Queso dip 2) Elote corn 3) I think we prob got tacos, but I don't recall since we were in a rush Queso and elote were SO GOOD - must get. Tacos...you can't go wrong. Note that this is def more tex-mex, so the tortillas are made from white flour (reminds me of Taco Bell). I later learned this was the manager that answered. I tried to order again to silence. I then DROVE over to location to be greeted not by a person but by a freaking kiosk to order. By this time I am so angry I almost leave. I got thru the order by kiosk and they have the nerve to ask for a TIP! I asked an employee there about the kiosks and he said they have had a large number of complaints. GET RID OF THEM Y TORCHEYS. THEY ARE A PAIN IN THE ASS! The food was ok but way overpriced. Torchy's isn't the cheapest but it's not that expensive and it's super good! I've tried a lot of the menu but usually get 2 tacos (a Tipsy Chick and Brushfire) with a side of rice but I've never had anything I didn't like! The Democrat and Republican are also good (the only politicians I really care for)! Torchy's has some of the best chips and queso, great frozen margaritas and a super easy to use app! They're usually playing some good music (often a little too loudly) but we typically just order to-go! The people are always nice and friendly and the service is usually pretty fast! read more

The tacos are amazing, especially the one with salmon. Guacamole here is excellent and I highly recommend. Plus they know how to make good alcoholic drinks. So, out of all the Torchy's I've been to, this location is probably my favorite. It's located in an awesome part of Richardson with plenty other restaurants/stores to explore that are all within walking distance. The restaurant itself is big and has both an indoor and semi-outdoor eating area complimented by the bar that serves both sides. The staff here is great and is always helpful wherever they can be. The food is great too, and have never had any problems with any of my orders. Overall, I definitely recommend if you're in the North Dallas area! read more

I've been to the Torchys in Tulsa and that location was better. Our whole family agreed our tacos were quite spicy. Not flavorful but spicy. The chips and queso were well liked and the little nookie dessert cookie dough balls are awesome, but this location kinda let us down. read more

The food is good no complaints there but I've been here 4 times this year twice with my coworkers and each time the 2 girls at the front give me attitude going out of their way to be impolite and short with me but never my friends. Tonight I was just picking up a taco and queso to-go and as she nearly dropped it in my hand she looks at me sideways and says "that's wrong" with absolutely no context. My first every Torchy's experience was here in Richardson, TX and my life changed forever! I highly recommend their Green Chile Queso and Chips, it is easily the best queso I've ever had. The guacamole center in the melted cheese and hot sauce is a chef's kiss. Pro tip, as for some extra Diablo sauce on the side to help give it a bigger kick if you like spicy! Torchy's queso and hot sauces really are secret to their success. Relative to the queso, the tacos are good but nothing amazing. My favorite tacos however are the Fried Avocado but made trashy with Diablo AND Poblano sauce. The flavors enrich each other for the perfect meal. My next goal is to eat through the entire taco menu, replacing any meats with either fried avocado, eggs, or beans since I'm vegetarian. Im hoping to find a new favorite taco soon!
