The slogan is correct, Damn Good! It is a sigh of relief to be writing a GOOD review as the last few times in Abilene, we haven't had the best of luck! I had eaten at the one in Austin so when I saw there was one in Abilene, we had to try it! So thankful we did! Each part was delightful! Chips and queso, the barbacoa (cuz I don't care for the real name) and Baja shrimp were amazing! The crossroads and brushfire also were not only delish but enough to feed a grown man! We are still talking about how great it was hours later!! The service was phenomenal as well, we sat at the bar so we were able to visit more with the servers and manger which was also very pleasant! We will be back for sure! read more

I heard that this torchys had been open for less than a month but it seems they have it together Great bartenders and great food Taco of the month read more

I waited almost an hour for a to-go order of queso. The restaurant was not busy at all. I finally asked the bartender if she could check on it and she looked put out and said "they'll bring it up when it's ready". Then she changed her mind and said she'd check. She came back she said they are training people back there.. so it's a good thing she checked because I don't think it was coming . When I did get it.. they forgot the avocado. Just an overall unpleasant experience. read more

Everything was inedibly salty and this place is excessively expensive for mediocre tacos and no service

I've eaten a Torchy's in the MetroPlex and they were good. Abilene, the two times I've tried it , is not so good. The food came out Luke warm. Drinks are not well made with bland taste and presentation. Everything is over priced for the quality. I would rather do Rosa's, better prices and quality. read more

Very nice staff, food was really good and served quickly. The store was clean. I visited on a Tuesday after 5 pm and it began to get busy by then. read more

I visit a lot of Torchys across Texas and was really excited to see one being built in Abilene. Since they've opened here I keep hoping things will get better but now I realize they won't. Today the queso was served 10 minutes after we finished our entrees. I've had queso at Torchys many times and I'm positive it's not supposed to be the consistency of water. Every other chip was as stale as they come. Someone should write the company and get their franchise pulled. This location gives Torchys a bad name. And that's after visiting a dozen times hoping. Well......it ain't gettin no better. Guess we'll go back to Fuzzys, at least in Abilene. read more

I absolutely love Torchy's but this location is terrible. The tacos we're subpar and poorly packaged but what was even worse was the service. The woman that handed us our food (glasses) was very unfriendly. No greeting, no manners, just rude. I recommend Torcy's but don't recommend this location! read more

Torchy's is our favorite go to Friday lunch spot! Our family loves the patio area! We order the chips and queso (to die for), chicken fajita tacos, beef fajita tacos, Baja shrimp tacos, sangria, and beer every time! The service is awesome and a great time is had by all! read more

The salmon taco was really good and nicely seasoned, and the rest of the tacos I've had here have all been good. Pricing is good and it is fairly quick. Would recommend read more

We stopped here passing through Abilene on a road trip. Have been to other Torchy's many times. We ordered online in advance to save time. Unfortunately our order scheduled for 12:20 pm wasn't ready till 12:50, which added 30 minutes to our road trip. Not at all reliable timing wise. We asked for the status multiple times and just kept being told it was coming. Also, we paid extra to get queso on one of the tacos but it had just the tiniest smear of it. Not worth it. read more

After ordering and giving them an extra 10 minutes when I arrived my order was still not ready. They were out of a particular type of taco no big deal was willing to switch with the price difference of $1.50 the manager never offered to credit back the credit card or add in something extra. Sat there and waited another 10 minutes and the assistant said that she would get the manager and the manager never came back up to the front. Terrible customer service. read more

This place is AMAZING!! The queso is SOOO good BUT the management is even better! I placed an order and was waiting with friends. 15 or so plus minutes had passed and one of servers noticed that I still had not received my food. He went and checked on it, come to find out they had lost my order. Anyway shout out to the manager and the gentleman that helped myself and my friends. The manager gave me a complimentary margarita and I had my food within minutes! I will FOR SURE be back for the food and the amazing staff read more

I wish I could leave 5 stars because honestly the food was awesome, sampled 6 different tacos and wasn't disappointed with any of them. But there were employees sitting at the booth behind us (which was a closed table due to the 6 feet apart rule) eating rosa's and sitting on their phones. And I wish I could've assumed they were on break but they were periodically getting up and bussing tables; like, literally lazily bussing tables, walking through the dining room on their phones. I was seriously shocked. Personally, any manager at any job I've ever worked would flip shit. For a place that's just opened, I'd expect the employee's work ethic to be a little better and the managers to be a little more vigilant of these things. Oh, and the hillbilly queso is bomb. read more

OMG!! The food is awesome! The service is friendly and quick. Place is clean and did I say the food was amazing? Prices reasonable.

The staff wear le mask below the nose or not at all. A very dangerous place during a pandemic. Shame on Torchy's the know better

The Queso was delicious and I would recommend ordering it to have while waiting an extremely long time to get tacos. Could Not come On a lunch hour. Hopefully service will speed up. read more

Best tacos and queso in town. Hands down. Wish they had a north side location! We love the trailer park - get it trashy! And I love trying the taco of the month! read more

I've been wanting to try Torchy's for awhile. Establishment is very clean. Very busy, but thats nothing new when a new business comes to Abilene. Menu isn't very kid friendly. Queso is good and I would recommend ordering an appetizer because the wait is veeeeeeery long for your food. Tacos were average, but not worth $5. I would say try it at least once to mark it off your list. I would rather go to Abuelos or Miguel's to really get my moneys worth. read more

Stop here for lunch with my kids, really loved it can't go wrong with tacos and beer, great environment even with the the Rona epidemic, very clean and staff very friendly. Had the Brushfire taco and Crossroads. Kids had the chicken n beef fajita tacos. Relaxed, laughed and had a great time with kiddos. Will definitely come back read more

Torchy's never disappoints. We've been 3 times since it's been in Abilene and have had it delivered to work several times. Food is great and the staff is friendly. read more

Fantastic food and even better chain. However, this location is the worst when it comes to the overall guest experience! Their food is top notch, I just wish the customer service matched. I've order to-go and in restaurant numerous times (at least 8 times). Almost half of the time I run across minor accuracy issues in my to-go order, experience a general lack of friendliness from the cashier or get notified after I've already paid that they are sold out of items I ordered. I'll keep coming back, but I hope they try to take a page from the ole' Chick-fil-a's hand book pretty soon rather emulating a Dick's Last Resort franchise (located in the Dallas area). read more

The tacos are good. Food was fresh. I'm not giving it more stars because the store was dirty. Most tables outside had food on them. The tables inside had food on them or weren't cleaned properly. The employees had food on their clothes while serving customers. The door handles weren't wiped off. Dirty smeared windows. There is no way I would use a restroom. It wasn't busy. The trash can by the door was over flowing. There was enough stuff to clean. The WHOLE restaurant needs to wiped down. read more

It was okay, everything is alacart and so can get pricey. We had to clean our own table, it was a week night and not busy. Not sure if I will go back. read more

The tacos have good flavor but are kinda pricey. Almost 5 bucks for each taco! My wife liked their queso. It's a new place so I'm sure they will work out the bugs but there was something running periodically that made a ton of noise. Staff was nice. read more

Staff was rude. We had 7 tacos and they were all cold. The fajita meat was so tough we couldn't eat it. The Democrat was so gross and upset my tummy. Don't waste your money on the margaritas either. Some of the worst I've ever had. read more

Placed order @ 3:35 Asked about it at 4:15 "They should be working on it now!" 4:26 "Do you have your receipt. They don't have an order for you." 4:27 "They reprinted the receipt and sent it to the kitchen now!" 4:32 "Here is your food." I work in Retail Management and so I understand the importance and impact of surveys. The girl at the counter did a good job. She took my order and then explained that they would send me a text when it was ready and that she would like me to wait in my car but they would bring me my food. After 40 minutes had passed I asked the girl at the outside tent if my order was ready she said that she didn't have an order for me and said that she would go inside and see what was going on. She returned a moment later to inform me that "They should be working on it now." So I returned to my parking spot. 11 more minutes go by (51 minutes) and she said that the kitchen didn't have my order and asked if she could see my receipt. She walked inside and reprinted my receipt then said that that had just started making my order. 51 minutes after I placed it. I was on my lunch hour and was late returning to work because of this. I submitted a survey to Torchy's and requested to be followed up with. Now a full 30 days later I have received no communication from the stores management. The food is great 10/10 the service and timing is less than impressive 3/10 read more

I love Torchys Tacos. The tacos are unique and delicious. I highly recommend eating here. Prices are reasonable.

If you want food poisoning this is the place for you. We all got sick shortly after eating there and we called the manager, and he hung up on us. All we wanted to do is make them aware they might be poising others. read more

This is my boyfriend and I favorite taco place. The Baja shrimp taco is great and queso dip to die for. We love the frozen margarita and the staff has always been nice and professional. The food comes out fast and the price isn't bad for how good the tacos taste! It's worth it. read more

DO NOT ORDER TO-GO!! The past 4 times that I have been to this restaurant for an ONLINE ORDER, I have had a terrible experience. With the 15 min drive, I still wait an extra 30-45 mins for my order to actually come out. I love the food, but the operations of the restaurant could definitely use some work. read more

Night before thanksgiving 2022... maybe 10 patrons eating ... ordered avocado tacos to go... took 20 minutes!!!!! Why??? No Torchy's should ever take that long. EVER. It was dumb. read more

Outdoor seating is a great plus & the concept is great, but for the quality of the tacos, it's a bit overpriced.

Horribly expensive and really gross. Do not waist your money they do not want to wait on you and when they do they do not offer any help with menu including showing you one. When you food arrives its small portions for the extreme price and taste nasty. Go right around the corner and go to any other place you will be happy you did. read more

There was a very nice Asian kid who brought out out queso which was piping hot and the chips were salted just right. Yum!! Almost 5 minutes later the same waiter brought us our tasty tacos. I had a couple different tacos and my favorite was definently the Trailer park trashy. The chicken tender was cooked to perfection and the queso on top was just right. I am extremely pleased with the service and ask that the waiter (Yul Han) is given a promotion to manager. :) read more

I sat there for 25 minutes after being told it would take 10 minutes to make two fajitas. My food was sat in the warming rack for 15 minutes while the employees were oohing and aahing over a small dog that a person brought into the restaurant. I had to flag down the bartender to have them check to see if my order was ready, which it was. The fajitas were tiny. For almost $11.00, I expected something more. I thought maybe the flavor made up for the small size of the fajita, but I was wrong. The taste was meh at best. My son ate the other one and he said the same thing. Bad service, tiny portions, big prices equals never again. read more

Torchy's Tacos Abilene provided fantastic service and the food was amazing. John and his team knocked it out of the ballpark. Hodge

Blech! I love hot, and the queso was so hot you couldn't taste it after the first bite or two. The trailer trash tacos were reminiscent of the $1 chicken wraps they used to have at Sonic, except the chicken was too spicy. The sausage on the Republican taco tasted cheap, and the Barbacoa on the Democrat taco was dry and too salty to eat. Tasted like shredded jerky. They were out of corn and the regular red salsa. All three of us thought it was too spicy to enjoy and we all like hot stuff! The beans were identical to Lay's canned bean dip!! A lot of people around the state rave about this place, so I don't know if we ordered wrong or what. The tomatillo salsa was the high point. read more

Haven't been in a while. Boy did I miss out. Amazing food. Got what I ordered. Why is that an issue at other places? This crew did it right. Super friendly, great service. Grabbing some buddies to meet up there for a cold one and some food this weekend read more

I love Torchys Abilene. They have great food, good service, and friendly workers.
