This company is an absolute scam. There are hundreds of sales reps in Times Square that pray on travelers. We asked all of the pertinent details and were told the buses run until 8 pm at 5:00 pm. We rode the bus for 20 minutes and got off. We waited to get back ont he bus and it didn't come. When we called they said the buses only run until 5:30 or 6:00. We were blatantly lied to by this company and their customer service was as bad. Unfortunately, we didn't see the reviews until after. But avoid this company like the plague. Overall terrible customer attentiveness and service. This company is nothing but a SCAM. We got tickets and we were promised a 10 minutes wait for a bus in order for my family of 6 to sit together. We waited an HOUR only for the next bus to be full. Not only that but their customer reps threatened to call the cops on paying customers for simply expressing our complaints. We requested for a refund but they refused saying how it's not their fault we didn't board the next bus when in reality they are overselling tickets knowing the bus is full. If I could give 0 stars I would, I want to tell everyone that reads this review, do not waste your money with this company. The drivers are incredibly rude, they do not allow you to go a full round trip they kick you off before the last stop. we went through half of the tour and they wait at stops for way to long and it says online that it is two to two and a half hours for a full round trip. That is not true, half a round trip took two and half hours. They say online busses come every 15min this is also not true it's more like 30 to 45 minutes. Some stops suddenly become drop off only and we were told to walk 4 blocks down to a different stop to get picked up. There is other companies and it would probably be cheaper and easier with just using Lyft please do not use this company they do not keep their promises and are incredibly rude. read more

The Bus was dirty, headphones didn't all work, they didn't announce stops until they were pulling away at some stops. last leg of our ride was terrible, the driver went so slow and was jerking the bus. They made us wait for night tour which was supposed to start at 11 pm all passengers were field hostage till 12 am while all Topview employees were focused on selling and filling seats. Next day Hop on Off the last route at 5.30 was ended early & all passengers were asked to leave the bus few blocks before the actual stop because drivers shift was over I think company has all of them underpaid & stressed so they make tourists life & time miserable & waisted. My friend and I visited NYC for the first time ever. We took the red double decker bus on Tuesday 11/7, 7:30pm in the evening, on 47th & 7th. While we waited in line to board, the attendant Alan R yelled at us to stay in line. We were in line and waited patiently. I did have a question about sitting in the top deck of the bus, towards the front. Alan R. Rudely directed me back to the line and told the bus driver to leave without us. He was scary to even talk to. I was in shock at the poor customer service and his rude behavior. Ruined our trip. People line Alan R should NOT work for a tour company or be around people. Be prepared to flight your way into each crowded bus and hope that there is room for you. The buses do not have air conditioning inside and if the bus is full on the top level, you have no choice but to fight through the suffocating heat in the lower level. We got on this bus ride with the expectation that it would be around 2 hours, however instead it was a 3 and a half hour bus ride. We kept stopping for a long time and at points we stopped for 30 mins, getting the promise "Oh we are about to leave" or "5 minutes" yet it took a while. Very rude driver turned up on empty bus to say that his route was to go back to bus stop 9, he then proceeded to argue with frustrated customers who had waited for over an hour. We booked a Top/view hop on hop off audio guided tour of downtown NYC in October 2024.,. Even though the driver gave out earphones, the audio did not work and he could not fix it saying it had to go to shop. We left after four stops. Without the audio tour, it was just a slow bus ride. We paid for the 4 hour tour on TopViews Hop-on Hop off bus tour of New York City. It took 30 minutes for the bus to get there and pick us up, but we didn't leave for another 25 minutes. After we hopped off at Bryant Park, while waiting to hop back on, 2 Big Bus sightseeing tour busses passed by. Again, we had over a 30 minute wait when the bus driver told us it's only supposed to be a 15 minute wait. We were very disappointed. DO NOT GO ON THIS BUS TOUR. Got on the bus with my family, got off at a stop that interested my kids near the Harry Potter store. Went to grab the next bus which the person who sold us the ticket said came every 10 minutes and...the live map said "next bus 38 minutes." Oof. As any parent knows, waiting on a street corner with young kids for 38 minutes isn't going to work, so we walked a mile to the next stop, and walked around that neighborhood. Went to grab the next bus and...live map said "next bus 56 minutes." Contacted customer service, which responded 8 hours later (well after the bus had closed for the day and we'd taken a $35 cab ride to get back to our hotel) and let me know you can track the busses with their live map feature. Huh? I asked for a refund since, in addition to spending $260 for a family of 4 on a tour we didn't except for one stop (would've been a $15 cab ride...), we had to pay for a cab ride when they marooned us. Nope, no refunds. Disputed the charge with the credit card company and next stop is a letter to the consumer protection bureau for NY. read more

My experience on the TopView bus was good. Aaron was a great tour guide! His wit, singing, and knowledge about the city made the ride enjoyable. My only complaint is in reference to the hassle of getting a ticket and finding the right bus. The employees were confused about what bus we were suppose to board, the downtown or the sightseeing bus. Some of the employees need training in proper etiquette and customer service. Very disappointed in this company. We were in NYC for a short time and planned to take the free Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. A third party vendor that Top View partners with convinced us not to take the free ferry, but pay for tickets for a Top View Liberty Cruise. He said the free ferry would take us 3 hours round trip and going on the Liberty Cruise would save us time so we could do other things. The salesperson selected the reservation time for us and then told us to we needed to get on the bus for just two stops and then we'd be on our way. Turns out the bus ride was 30 minutes and we missed the cruise. We had to wait an hour and a half for the next one. So frustrating to be lied to. Top View said they had nothing to do with it, we purchased tickets through a third party vendor. But they are responsible for who they choose to partner with - especially as the larger, more visible and recognizable company with the power to insist that their third party vendors are more forthright. Took this b/c the kids wanted to experience it the open top bus tour. We were told we'd be able to ride the bus until 1:30am, which is why I got it. Wrong. The regular day bus stops right at 6. We were not able to get on at #4 so Empire State Building so we went to #3 Bryant Park stop. When we got there, there's no Top View representative so nobody knew where to line up. While waiting for the next bus, I called Top View who told me that another bus is coming in 3 minutes and that they usually take 20-25minutes for the next bus depending on traffic. We were told by other competitors to wait further down but the next bus that arrived end up being too full and it stopped somewhere else. There were at least four Big Tour busses that went by that were able to pickup all their tourists without turning anyone away. When the next bus finally arrived 25 minutes later, the group of Top View customers had grown to 25-30. The bus at a different location than the last one and everyone swarmed towards the bus. Very unorganized. Now, nobody wants to get off with fear that we won't be able to get back on. After I spoke with two different Top View reps, I finally got on and sent the following message to the company: It's unacceptable that you do not have enough busses to accommodate the amount of people who purchase your service. We were at Bryant Park #3 where we waited almost an hour before we got on although there were 8 seats left on the bottom. There were at least 30 people left waiting to get upper level seats. At the next stop #4 Empire State, about 4 got on to settle for bottom level. The other 20 people said they've been waiting for an hour while the rest were hoping the next bus truly comes in 7 minutes to get a seat on the upper level. We regret giving Top View my business. Big Bus Tours knows how to keep their customers happy by applying constant busses. I'll be looking for Big Bus Tours in DC. read more

As part of a group of four, we were collectively disappointed in the Top View redline bus tour. The narrative between each stop is minimal and mildly interesting. The stops are too long and not spaced well. It took an hour to go a couple of blocks. The bus stops drop you off several blocks from the sites you want to see. The staff directed us incorrectly when we asked questions about the stops. We did enjoy the Statue of Liberty cruise that was part of our package. It was great! Be aware that if you want to secure a space on the top deck, they will ask you to upgrade for an additional $20. We did not upgrade and our view from the front of the boat was all we needed. The bus did provide rain ponchos to everyone for no fee on the one day it rained. That was nice. read more

We visited New York City and I feel like this company over sold and under delivered. The driver bus#367 was not helpful when we ask questions. If you call their number for help, it takes long time to answer the phone and the person is not customer service oriented. In addtion, they are not organized as the other tourist buses I've taken in the past. One stop was eliminated which resulted in us walking a long way for nothing. The stops are not marked very well, if at all. Their app map does not work at all so it's difficult to locate the stops. We got conflicting schedule information from drivers causing more confusion. In short, this company is very poorly managed. They just want to get your money and obviously don't care about repeat business because you are a tourist. I strongly DO NOT recommend this company to anyone because they caused us a lot of stress and frustration on our vacation. I regret using TOPVIEW. Worst bus tour company I've ever used. read more

And the guided tour was mostly music with a little bit of narration, but did not offer very much about a city that should be full of information. Horrible experience during a heat wave in New York! Not enough buses! They tell you buses come every 30 minutes but it's more like every hour and then when they finally show up there full and only let 2-5 people on so you end up waiting for next one that's another hour away. Me being a tourist in NYC, it is a terrible feeling of violation to be cleverly deceived by a tour company so they can make a sale, but this is what happened in my experience with Topview tours. As my friend and I are on the way to the Staten Island ferry when a gentlemen with what appeared to be a generic un-marked New York City public worker uniform approaches us and asks if we are interested in taking the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. I told him we were but plan to take the Staten Island Ferry. He responded that he could help us with getting a boat to see the Statue of Liberty. At first I thought he worked for the Staten Island Fairy. When I found out he didn't, he said represents a service that offers better views and three deck indoor viewing experience of the Statue of Liberty. He said the price is $45 per person and the next boat leaves at 3:00 pm, in about 15 mins. I said we had dinner reservations and we had to be finished by 4. He said we would finished by 4. After we agreed to pay and take the boat tour, he walked us over to wait in line for the bus, and changed his story, saying we would be back by 4:30. We took the Topview tour bus north a few miles to the ferry entrance, got off and walked with the rest of the bus riders to a ferry called Liberty Cruise. I immediately noticed there was no more space inside the heated portion of the ship and was told when I asked that there wasn't anymore room inside and that we would need to find room outside. Because it was so cold (in the mid 20s), I was truly uncomfortable with the idea of riding a cruise ship outdoors in this kind of weather, especially after being sold on the idea that this would be a better and more comfortable ferry than the Staten Island one. Because the situation was not what we were told, my friend and I decided to walk off the ship. When I mentioned to one of the cruise workers we had been informed beforehand it would be indoors, he said 'you need to speak to customer service.' Since the ordeal took up a big part of our day, we were unable to get near the Statue of Liberty at all, which was one of our wishes for our short trip in NYC. To add to this, when we got to our accommodations, I looked at our receipt and noticed we were not charged $45 but $59. We had been lied to again. (The name of the agent who deceived us is Luther McLoyd). I contacted customer service and they said the only way they could make this right is by issuing us another ticket. Shame on you, Topview tours, not only for training your employees this way, but for doing nothing useful to make things right. read more

I wish I could leave my first 0 star review. We bought a Groupon for our 9 person party. The Groupon sent us to an address on 46th street which is a dirt lot. Ok maybe that was Groupon's fault. We found a TopView employee and none of them wanted to help since they are all trying to sell tickets, and we already bought tickets. We finally got directed to a supervisor who said he couldn't scan the Groupon we had and instead took photos of it and sent it to a group chat of supervisors. As we waited for him to let us on the bus I asked if we were going to make the set departure time. His response to us was "Next time don't be cheap and get a Groupon if you want to be on time." He then told us to go back to Groupon and get a refund. Here's the best part. As we're walking through time square they have shady sales people trying to sell you tour tickets. We told one guy we weren't interested since they just screwed us. His response was to yell "fu" and threaten to spit in the face of one of the females in our group. read more
