However, the range of products available and the prices they are available FOR in Hemel are fantastic. Also they run a body peircing service in-store.

I was served by a lady called Sabeena, she suggested I look at made to measure curtains. I thought they would be too expensive, However, she went through the pricings and options and was just so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We went away with prices etc to mull it over. We returned the next day and were served by Kim and also by Berni. They were just amazing just like Sabeena, again nothing was too much trouble. We finally made our purchase. Hoping that the curtains would live up to the expectations set by such knowledgeable and helpful staff. They were due to arrive on 7th December. they arrived on 5th December. They were very well packed we hung them the same day. They are excellent, far exceeding our expectations. Thanks to Sabena and Kim they look and fit better than my previous curtains. I can not praise Dunelms and their staff enough. Thank you

I'm really disappointed at this company when it showed such good potential with reviews and prices…read more Ordered an ice axe, whose shipping was pending on an ID request email (why not incorporate this on the website when making purchases with blades, or let users create ID verified profiles to skip this (understandable but poorly executed) faff altogether? To then receiving another email now telling me that they actually no have the item in stock, so clearly their stock levels on their website are completely unreliable if it says 1 or 2 left in stock. So, they don't reserve the item aside for a reasonable time whilst waiting for the customer to provide ID (which I did within half a day). The only assumptions from this is that they either didn't have it to begin with and have unreliable stock measurements in place; or that they sold it between when I placed the order and today; or worse, they have staff stealing or doing under-the-table deals when the last item in stock goes on sale. All of which just make Absolute Snow look incompetent and unrealiable. They offered apologies and replacement, but I wanted that item specifically due to its grip, curvature, colour, and reviews. Least they could do is put the item on back-order and just ship it to me once you'd have it back in stock, I'd much prefer that than "pick something else or a refund". Fortunately, I'm not in any rush as I'm just prepping for winter and there's time, but it's really disappointing as a first impression and I'll be looking elsewhere with reliable stock levels. I ordered some skis, was advised of delivery, and had a text confirming the delivery date. They didn't turn up. Two days later still no skis. Several calls with Absolute Snow and they wanted me to wait, not interested in helping me. The courier (DX Express) confirmed they had lost the item and would be advising the sender. Absolute Snow still refused to send a replacement until they had that in writing from the Courier. So I am still awaiting skis. Finally, I decided that I had given them sufficient opportunity to make things good and they had not. So my next step is to use the VISA Chargeback and obtain my money back that way. I would never use this awful company again. Read some more of the reviews - I am saying nothing new. They have form on goods not arriving, poor customer service, and reluctance to refund. My advice, spend another Tenner and go to a Company that cares and provides a Service.

I know the staff didn't know this but today was my first trip out in a month, due to ill-health. I was stupidly looking forward to it, despite previous bad experiences going back many years. After all, a trip to a haberdashers should be fun, right?! What is it with their staff?! We went in there with smiles on our faces, eager to spend money - all we got back were scowls! The same faces, same scowls, that we've put up with for years, but each time I hope it will be different. I was stood right in front of two members of staff, waiting politely to be served. They deliberately avoided eye contact - didn't think to say, "Sorry, I'll be with you in a minute!" The customer in front of me was chatting away, full of smiles, but getting blunt one word responses in return. The person waiting after me was told, very rudely, "I'm sorry but you'll have to move over here!" Saying 'sorry' when using such a nasty tone doesn't quite fix it, I'm afraid! She was standing at the checkout after all but must have felt like she was being told off for somehow standing in the wrong place! I've had the exact same telling off so I know this wasn't a one-off! I remember on my first visit, a staff member actually yelling at me, "YOU CAN'T BE BACK THERE!" Simply because I was looking at fabric on display for sale in the shop! I hadn't even noticed that the till was on the cutting table in front of me, 2 metres away! I was nowhere near it & certainly not about to raid it! Why put fabric for sale there if customers aren't allowed to stand there?! Despite this, like an idiot, I apologised! That's how scary these women are! They work in a haberdashery - a dream job for many! I'm sure the shop could find lots of amazing women to work there who'd love their job and take pride in their work. Instead, they have a bunch of miseries who act like they don't want to be there! Needlecraft had no competition for a while as the haberdashery in St Albans had a similar reputation. Now, under fantastic new young management, the St Albans shop is reinvigorated! Full of atmosphere, smiles, and good manners, Needlecraft finally have the competition they so badly need. Sadly, that shop didn't have quite what I needed so I had to go to Needlecraft - though they didn't have what I needed either. My first trip out in a month ruined by rude ladies who give the rest of womanhood a bad name. For goodness sake, sort this problem out - reputation is everything, and your shop's reputation is notorious for all the wrong reasons! It might help to get rid of those awful lights - firstly because it's impossible to see the colours of fabric etc correctly. But also maybe they' re giving your staff 'sick building syndrome' - maybe that's why they're all so incredibly grumpy?!

They managed to bugger up my contract 3 times n two days and then fobbed me off saying I should contact their customer service line as it was nothing to do with them! Most frustating bunch of muppets ive ever had the misfortune of dealing with!!

The staff here are so polite and friendly no matter when you go, which is amazing considering the hustle of working in retail and such large numbers of customers. If the queue gets big, then boom, they open more tills. Good variety for a shop this size and all really well presented.
