I'm really disappointed at this company when it showed such good potential with reviews and prices. Ordered an ice axe, whose shipping was pending on an ID request email (why not incorporate this on the website when making purchases with blades, or let users create ID verified profiles to skip this (understandable but poorly executed) faff altogether? To then receiving another email now telling me that they actually no have the item in stock, so clearly their stock levels on their website are completely unreliable if it says 1 or 2 left in stock. So, they don't reserve the item aside for a reasonable time whilst waiting for the customer to provide ID (which I did within half a day). The only assumptions from this is that they either didn't have it to begin with and have unreliable stock measurements in place; or that they sold it between when I placed the order and today; or worse, they have staff stealing or doing under-the-table deals when the last item in stock goes on sale. All of which just make Absolute Snow look incompetent and unrealiable. They offered apologies and replacement, but I wanted that item specifically due to its grip, curvature, colour, and reviews. Least they could do is put the item on back-order and just ship it to me once you'd have it back in stock, I'd much prefer that than "pick something else or a refund". Fortunately, I'm not in any rush as I'm just prepping for winter and there's time, but it's really disappointing as a first impression and I'll be looking elsewhere with reliable stock levels. Diabolical Service - you really should avoid using this company. I am going to have to use VISA Chargeback to get my money back and purchase elsewhere. I ordered some skis, was advised of delivery, and had a text confirming the delivery date. They didn't turn up. Two days later still no skis. Several calls with Absolute Snow and they wanted me to wait, not interested in helping me. The courier (DX Express) confirmed they had lost the item and would be advising the sender. Absolute Snow still refused to send a replacement until they had that in writing from the Courier. So I am still awaiting skis. Finally, I decided that I had given them sufficient opportunity to make things good and they had not. So my next step is to use the VISA Chargeback and obtain my money back that way. I would never use this awful company again. Read some more of the reviews - I am saying nothing new. They have form on goods not arriving, poor customer service, and reluctance to refund. My advice, spend another Tenner and go to a Company that cares and provides a Service. read more

The price match feature DOES NOT WORK. They are known for intentionally over pricing certain items and dodging requests for price matches behind location and shipping costs. It is a form of scalping. Ex. Prana Website: Brion Pant is on sale for $49.99 with free shipping. Absolute-snow: $109.53 + $15 shipping. My request: $79.00 (retail) with + $15 shipping: Because my certain size just went out of stock. Their response twice now: "We are based in the UK but I notice both you and the other shop are not." So you're not going to price match for me because I live in another country? You're selling these pants for more than double the price BEFORE shipping costs. Shaking my head. I selected an item online. I placed my order and a couple of days later I received an item different to the one I ordered. I used the (not very straightforward) email query form and was told that they didn't have my chosen item in stock. I have subsequently emailed 4 times to get my free returns label and have received nothing. Telephoning Absolute Snow is impossible as the number goes straight to a 'full inbox'. The returns policy is stated on their website "substitute goods you prefer not to accept, we will refund or issue a credit note to cover your return delivery charges providing you obtain our consent by email and use the return delivery method that we stipulate." I have not received a refund, a credit note or a returns label. The government's distance selling rules state that for "Online, mail and telephone order customers have the right to cancel their order for a limited time even if the goods are not faulty. Sales of this kind are known as 'distance selling'. You must offer a refund to customers if they've told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they've told you. You must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. They do not have to provide a reason." Let's just say that customer service is not this company's strong point. The order, that was meant to arrive 4 days ago, never seemed to get here. Their automated bot system, emailed me to say it hit their packing area. I'm expecting some fancy wrapping, because after 7 days, it's still not here. This isn't normal for this company, they're usually bang on I've tried emailing and phoning to get an update, but their inbox is full and the phone goes straight to message saying they cannot accept any more calls. After reading reviews on other sites I wish I had stayed away and bought from a more reputable dealer. Once upon a time this was a decent company, but there has been an obvious change that has made me rate it one star. The advice they give on their website in such a situation, is to order another item and then return one. Really? Like I'm going to give you more money after you haven't even processed my first one properly. I now fully expect my item not to arrive and to be told it is out of stock. Ordered two items from them - two identical Patagonia base layers in different size. These were shipped to the US from the UK. One size arrived in its original box with its original tags. The other arrived with no tag, no box, and I'm guessing was a used return they marketed as new. They refused to pay for return shipping and I resold the used item for more of a loss than I would have shipping all the way across the pond. Would not recommend this company. read more

Telephoning Absolute Snow is a hard task as their is rarely anyone available to answer. Finally I was told that refunds take five days. I said that the refund should be immediate. Consistently first class. A true specialist shop with extremely knowledgable but friendly and approachable staff. Really helpful advice on their website and in their shop. Deliveries always arrive quickly and, on the one occasion I had to send something back, it was processed very quickly with excellent email communication.
