My husband and I spent 4 sessions at Top Notch Tennis while visiting Stowe over the Christmas holidays. We had lessons with 3 different pros on staff, and an hour of court time on our own. The facilities were excellent, staff super friendly, appointments easy to book, and each pro had a slightly different style but all were excellent. Would definitely return on future visits. I got my wife a maternity massage last week and was disappointed to hear about her experience. No maternity table was a major let down, so she had to lay on one side and she was only worked on that one side. Her therapist also hit a trigger point or something in her neck which caused her to feel sick and almost faint. There were some positives to the massage, but these two aspects were disappointing and stood out. Would think a spa like Topnotch would have a maternity table, as my wife was looking forward to being able to lay on her belly the most haha. read more

$324 for a couples massage (mine was prenatal and hubby's was combo; included gratuity). We booked less than a week before we were in the Stowe area (we didn't get to stay at the resort). We were SO thankful we were able to book it. Everyone we dealt with was super nice, from the people who booked us, to the nice woman who showed me the women's lounge area as I was clearly confused about how the facilities were set up. Part of the massage package included access to the women's lounge. There was a private jacuzzi, showers that were super clean and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, bathrooms stocked with pads and tampons, sinks with disposable razor blades, mouth wash, and lotion, and a bar/seating area with 2 hair dryers and plenty of space to do your make up. Oh and plenty of nice towels with one robe and pair of slipper in the lockers. Yes, all this included. Outside this area, but still in the "women's lounge" there were couches and lounge chairs that looked super comfy. Lots of women took advantage of them and were reading and napping. In this area there was coffee, tea, water, and flavored water readily available and restocked. So we slipped into our lovely robes and got fantastic massages. I had an older, small woman, but man, she had some strong hands! She really worked on the kinks in my back from pregnancy. And yes, they do have the pregnancy pillows so you have a hole for your belly so that they can really get in there, rather than making you lay on your side. Ugh wish I could get another one! With the massages, since we spent, I think, over $50 at the spa, was access to their pools, steam rooms, and saunas. They have TWO pools and TWO hot tubs. Well, I think three actually, but only two in the winter. The one indoors was kinda filled with children though and not much for seating since lots of families reserved groups of chairs. Groups of women also "reserved" the chairs while they were lounging about in other areas of the facility. I enjoyed the hot tub inside real quick because it had a fantastic waterfall function that beat down really nice on my shoulders. Most of my time was at the heated outdoor pool (not too heated for a preggo lady though). It was a beautiful weekend, sun up and about 50 degrees in February. Great view of the mountains though that were still snowcapped. We finished the day by sitting at their outdoor firepit which they started about 5 pm. Once our wallet recovers a little bit from this splurge and we get some time away once our little one comes, I cannot wait to come back! Totally worth it. read more

I'm really conflicted about this review. The staff at the spa were lovely. Pool and hot tub were nice, massage was adequate. Ladies' lounge had some issues. The spa opens at 8 - we went in at 10 to use the sauna/steam room and they hadn't been turned on and we're cold. Hot tub in the lounge only had a few working jets. But the thing that bothered me the most was when I went to shower. Shower curtains were moldy, mold all over the tile. I belong to the YMCA at home and that place is cleaner than this expensive spa. We were staying in the condos and I'm really glad I didn't spend $70 for us to use the faculties on a day that we didn't have spa appointments (it's free when you have a service over $100 booked). read more

Meh. Very pricey and not at all relaxing. Granted I went on a Saturday but the pool was full of shrieking children all day. A family had the audacity to take over the hot tub for an hour and turn it in to a kiddie pool. The spa which was meant to be 16+ still had a toddler in there for a significant amount of time- unattended and spilling granola. The child was still among there more well behaved. No part of the spa was safe from loudly chatting/ giggling inconsiderate patrons who left the ringers on, answered their phones and made the space unpleasant. I paid $100 for a 25 minute spot massage which was good (for a third the cost)mane access to the unrelaxing spa. The fireplace in the relaxation room was out of order and the outside pool/ hot tub were closed because of the cold. Would not return. read more

I went and got a gel manicure. very relaxing, and the technician styled my nails amazing and I was so excited about them... 3 days later they started to all peel off. this was disappointing considering they r supposed to last a couple weeks. also forget calling the spa directly because they never answer.. Wonderful spa experience. From booking over the phone with a very pleasant and knowledgable employee to a full tour of the spa when we arrived to amazing massage therapists! We had the couples massage, Michelle and Elaine were so kind and great at their job. We both had excellent massages tailored to our needs. Aroma therapy oils were included (plus some to go as a gift) and a prosecco toast at the end of our massage. Facilities include locker rooms, sauna, hot tub, relaxation areas, pool, gym, etc. My only complaint is that there were so many children using the pool and hot tub and being very loud. This is not a review of the actual spa services - as a Vermonter (who now lives out of state) it's one of the only proper day spas worth spending a few hours at and my mother absolutely loves their massages. This is a review of the customer service and response from phone and web presence. After calling approximately eight times (I left one message and missed their call back) during normal business hours, I was getting annoyed at the hassle. Then I finally reached someone on the third day and asked to buy a gift card for my sister's birthday. She would not do that over the phone and pointed me to the website. I was again annoyed at the continued delay, but fine. I go onto the website, pick the physical gift card, and I am downright gobsmacked that they have the audacity to charge a TWENTY FIVE dollar shipping charge for a letter size envelope, not even quickly - 5 to 7 days. ($50 for overnight! What?!) No wonder she pointed me to the website - no one would be able to charge that over the phone without getting hung up on. I called back (this time someone picked up) and the new lady put me on hold for five minutes only to come back without an answer. The manager called me back and said there's no way to waive that fee but that I could do an e-gift card - apparently those gift cards are printed on gold-flecked plastic. I think Topnotch is woefully unaware how they are coming across to their Vermont customers. Since this is what my sister wanted for her birthday, I'll be handing her the cash and letting her decide if she wants to use it there or elsewhere. read more

Beautiful experience. It was both mine and my wife's first time and it was the most relaxing period we'd ever spent at a resort. The spa is incredibly accommodating with friendly, attentive staff who are always willing to help and offer assistance. The outdoor pool (including the jacuzzi) is breathtaking, offering a background view of the stoic mountains at which to marvel. All pools were adequate temperatures and we were lucky enough to bag a quiet experience with no children or noise. The lounges are phenomenally relaxing and you're offered full range of the facilities on-site such as the whirlpool and showers which is a nice touch. My wife and I both had various spa treatments, one of which was the couples Swedish massage, which was heavenly. I myself had the soothe and restore facial with Angela, who was wonderful and helpful, and left my skin feeling a thousand times better and rejuvenated. Overall a wonderful experience, the spa being the true highlight. Thank you guys-- we'll be back! read more

Massage was not good at all. Signature massage was a light tickle. Asked what part of body to focus on & just slid over it! My SIL didn't even get her arms massaged! $170 which included 22% tip, of which I would not have given! Room was too bright to relax, barely heard music & girl was Chatty Cathy! Sent them an email shortly after sharing our disappointment & never heard a word back, not an apology one! The spa amenities were relatively expansive - in the ladies and gentlemen lounges there are hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms. The shower and locker amenities are otherwise good. The women's lounge also had a nice waiting area with chaises and blankets that one could nap on. The co-Ed area had an indoor pool, indoor hot tub, indoor sauna, and indoor steam room (which didn't seem functional during our visit) as well as an outdoor hot tub and heated pool. My personal favorite was the outdoor hot tub. The indoor pool space which also included the indoor hot tub, sauna, and steam room was filled with annoying loud children. The spa specifically states only guests 16+ allowed so I assumed these were children staying at Topnotch resort who were allowed in, however it was disruptive to adults who were using the spa amenities to relax. As for spa service, we had the couples suite service which was very enjoyable and including Prosecco as a nice touch. My only recommendations would be to have children from the resort somehow separated from the adults utilizing the day spa (I mean they were even in the hot tubs) and perhaps have somebody ask if any of the spa guests would like a beverage while they are utilizing the amenities as only water was available and there was no other possibility to obtain a beverage. read more

I was not at all impressed with Topnotch. Granted, I went on Saturday, midwinter when snow conditions were miserable, so it was crowded. The spa just seemed completely unable to keep up with the mess created by the masses. There were towels strewn everywhere, the shower setups were never reset after the morning, the initial bucket of cold towels near the hot tub were never refreshed, you get the idea. It was loud, crowded, and not at all relaxing. Not to mention that the pool that's part of the "spa" was the hotel pool and was full of screaming children. The treatments were okay, but for the price, I expected a far better experience. I doubt I'll return. read more

Had a great couples massage here on Valentine's Day. Had to take off a star because there were so many children screaming and running and splashing in the pool that my boyfriend and I couldn't even use that space to be together and there isn't much space for both sexes to hang out. There was no chair space available and it was so loud you couldn't have a conversation. There should be child specific times for the pool or just a no children policy for days like Valentine's Day. I took off another star because we took the worst yoga class I have ever been to in my life. This women had no idea what she was doing. She would yell at you if you werent doing a pose right and had no idea how to cue a class and put together a sequence of postures. It was a waste of an hour and $15 a person. read more

I have been to the spa twice. The space is clean and well kept. The staff was friendly. My massage was given by a lovely woman but unfortunately it just wasn't that good. I enjoy the chair massages more at my local nail salon. But I would still give 3/4 stars to the spa. I am giving one star because my facial was HORRIBLE. It has been 2 weeks and I still have broken capillaries ALL over my cheeks because of this unknowledgeable, terrible facialist. I didn't bother to ask if she is certified, I have never asked that for any of the facials I get but I seriously doubt she ever went to any type of school or training. She was EXTREMELY ROUGH. She used a really rough/harsh towel to wipe away each cream/cleaners etc. It was clear she had no understanding of how you treat skin on the face - aka GENTLY!! I paid A LOT of money for the "collagen facial". There was nothing collagen about this facial and the promise of "a hand massage" literally lasted 30 seconds per hand NO EXAGGERATING. I am so upset that my cheeks are so aggravated and BRUISED from this woman. She was very nice but clearly not someone you want messing with your face. read more
