My advice based on my experience is I would NEVER hire these people. Whether they go by the name Top to Bottom, Fontenot Tree Services, Christy Baker and/or Christy Fontenot, it is all the same First, they are not a full tree service when all they have is a truck and a saw. They have no other equipment. They are unable to rent the needed equipment due to their reputation of not paying the rental place and/or damaging the equipment. We had to rent the equipment in our name and of course we are now paying $750 to have the damage they did to the equipment repaired. They do not have a grinder to grind stumps and for days no one would accept the job as they would not work with them. Finally, we hired a grinder. They were to remove all chips after grinding stumps. Of course, they could find no one and our yard looks like a war zone. But most importantly, I was told they had $1 million of insurance by Christy. I requested a copy of the certificate of insurance after the equipment was damaged, but not before job started. My mistake. Christy of course has not provided a copy of her insurance or license and I can only wonder if she actually has either. When you think of the absolute danger and liability that you as a homeowner can be faced with by their cutting trees near power lines, near houses, near propane tanks, you really need to demand to see their insurance first before even considering to hire them. However, I would not recommend them under any circumstances due to their poor business practices, poor management, and lack of necessary equipment. read more

Let's be clear - I love my trees. Really. So, when I needed some tree work and I called Top To Bottom Tree Care they were very professional from the get - go. The estimator (Christy) was quick, prepared, and pleasant. She had the courtesy to call me when en-rout as well. She gave me my estimate and did not engage in any pressure sales tactics. When I chose Top To Bottom Tree Care to do the job I contacted Christy, who was very prompt with communication. She was also spot - on with how much time the project would take to complete - far less time, than I expected. The project cost was very reasonable and it showed in their work! AMAZING! When the crew arrived They were pleasant and very polite. They completely cleaned up after themselves, They removed all reasonable traces of their work. And left my yard beautiful. The job was complete in two hours, within two days of scheduling. Good stuff. To top off this very positive transaction, Christy the owner called me herself the very next day to check on the finished job, to make sure I was very happy and thank me for my business! It's been 3 years since I called to have my trees taken care of. AND that's exactly when they told me I would call them back for minor landscape improvements. We got worried .. it's been awhile.. do we still have their number?.. are they still in business? I found there business card, and called them. I was so glad they answered, and it felt really good years later, being remembered... even where we lived. She came over.. smiled.. AND caught up. This isn't your regular tree company, she is passionate not only about her job.. but my family. She cared to listen and cared to learn my wants.. and she cared enough to remember I am a tree hugger. It's nice meeting someone that has a family, puts her family first, but yet still puts 150% into her customers. I didn't get along with her the whole time, mainly because I've been taken to the cleaners, but she followed through and made sure once again. Christy Baker Fontenot formerly Top to Bottom Tree Service cheated me too. She cut trees off my property but refused to remove the debris. She said she would remove it next week after I paid her in full. I called her. She yelled at me and called me a bitch. She said she would give me back $300 but would not remove the cut trees. I never got the $300 and had to hire another company to remove all the debris. I would never hire her again. Beware! read more
