Weekly and Monthly events, friendly staff, a lively community, just some of the many reasons I personally consider Gamer's Haven to be my favorite third space. I've been coming there since 2021, first entered the store during a flesh and blood tournament to pre-order the newest edition of killteam to begin my war gaming journey, and the haven has been there with me every step of the way. I've made new friendships, epic and hilarious stories, and countless of poor financial decisions that I wouldn't take back just because it helped kept the lights on. Do be warned, the previous owner had a "No-Wotc" products policy for reasons too long to explain here, and the newer owners decided to keep it, so if you're looking for D&D or MTG, you won't find it here. Personally, the store doesn't need WOTC anyway. Because of this policy, they've expanded out to different TCGs such as Flesh and Blood, Lorcana, Riftbound, and Uni-Versus. There is also a lively wargaming scene featuring, of course, Warhammer and other GW games, but also Bolt Action, Konflict '47, and Moonstone. There unfortunately isn't much of an RPG scene there at the moment, but private rooms are available to use, and there are groups who regularly meet at the haven for RPG nights. And of course, there is a healthy selection of board games available and a weekly board game meet up in case you need people to play with. Whatever reason you have to escape from reality into the realm of tabletop, the haven has an open spot for you.

I am not a "gamer" and know very little about these things. My son is beginning to play and is interested in looking around. The owner was there, and he was wonderful! So friendly, personable and gave us all kinds of advice, suggestions and gave us the run-down of how the place held game nights. The place was very clean and there was a lot of pride in how he cared for the store. We are already looking at our schedules so that my son can attend a night where they teach you how to play a new game. Thankful that we stopped in and now looking forward to becoming regular customers.

First off, my wife felt completely uncomfortable. The owner (or who i presume to be the owner) who "helped" us was staring her up and down the entire time. She felt sexualized and dirty. Instead of making a scene, we exited the establishment with the same gentleman complaining how we left his door open (when we did not btw). If you are a woman, I would suggest avoiding this place like the plague. Second, my friend asked what kind of deal would be given for buying a box of cards. The owner said he would be paying $8 a pack for the full box, same as buying singles. Most establishments would drop by a much larger amount than this. Third and finally, you can barely walk through the place. I am not a large person, but i was struggling to walk through to even browse. One time i was looking at decks of cards, and i was yelled at to get put from behind the counter. Understandable, except for the fact that the entire counter was loaded with boxes of unsold merchandise. One could not tell that it was a counter at all. Once again, I want to reiterate that this store and its owner gave us a terrible experience. It is establishments like these that give TCG's a bad name. PLEASE stay away from here!

John and crew make this shop accessible to all ages. They have their layout dialed in, their social media dialed in, their special events dialed in and exciting and their books and pricing dialed in so all collectors can enjoy. New books weekly with some cool Facebook intros. A stellar shop cat, Winston, who actually runs things. ( it's a his shop and he actually let's us all enjoy it.) Their back issues are on sale, they have some neat manga titles and families will like the kid's area. They have supplies and probably the largest dual wall of Graphic Novels in Northeast Ohio. This is my homebase so I might be a little prejudice on the side of Comics Are Go and Eric Anderson. Comics Are Go. I've been going to Comics Are Go since it was under previous ownership with Scott and it was called "Astound" in Westlake, Ohio. I've had the pleasure of watching this shop grow out of its previous location in the same plaza and into bright and spacious space it is now in. Eric Anderson went from being a novice to journeyman comic guy and always a gentleman. First thing you'll notice when you walk in is how light/ well-lit the store is and how open the floor plan is. Comics Are Go was able expand and fill the space with so much good stuff. They have so many back issues plus so many hidden back issues, it's dizzying. Be sure to ask what you're looking for. On the west side of Cleveland, there is probably not a Comic Shop that has more silver, gold and bronze comics available, including slabbed/ graded books. I believe they may have one of the largest selections of variant comics also. If you're a very collector, it's definitely worth your drive. They get new comics every Wednesday, they're always stocked with supplies and their Funko pop wall is amazing. They've also curated a large selection of graphic novels. I'm always mesmerized by the amount of toys that they have and their fantastic selection of statues and busts. And remember when you're looking at the wall books, they probably have 10 times that amount of wall books available or more. Be sure to ask for what you're looking for. I'm sure Eric or Ed will be able to find it for you. Recently, they put together a section of manga so if you're looking for some manga on the west side, Comics Are Go is your place. Every year Eric throws a big shindig for free comic book day, I am sure this year he is going to have special artists and creators. Plus he's gonna have a ton of free comics. Be sure to stop in. I touched a drum and considered purchasing it. Unfortunately, the staff member got quite hysterical and said to never touch the "sacred drum." The Sacred Geometry classes and art classes were truly enjoyable and I did make multiple purchases from Bear Soul Stuio & Rock Shop. Some of the ladies working there don't seem to be interested in high quality customer service and their lack of engagement is disturbing. I like Lakewood and that neighborhood. Supporting local businesses is something that I consider a high priority. Their lack of focus and interest in superior customer service has made me decide to take my business elsewhere. As a former business owner, I just can't see this business being around in the next five years. My advice to the new management is to think of yourself as a customer. Would you appreciate someone interrupting a presentation that you paid to attend? Do you think it's wise to leave a door wide open and let rodents into a building? Do Better!
