The…read moremain guy showed me the lovely clean pool screen and cement surround, but the pool was full of horrible debris. He said that the "other" guy would stick around and clean it, but I should pay him because he had to leave. Stupid, I knew better, but he was so nice. The other guy left a few minutes later. No answer to my calls and messages. I tried to stop payment on my check, but it had been cashed immediately. Finally I had my regular pool maintenance people clean up the mess, they charged $400 because it took all day and tons of chlorine and chemicals.

I've been using Crystal Clean Maid Service for my short term rental property in St.Teresa Florida…read more Where to begin, Derek and Crystal have been the best on several levels. Crystal Clean is the worst cleaning service I ever dealt with. They are all about quick in & out,…read morerather than doing a proper cleaning job. They would rush through my house in less than an hour, running laundry & dishes on skimpy quick cycles that aren't suitable for towels, linens or crusty dishes. Every time they messed something up, like putting half-dirty dishes from dishwasher back into cabinets, leaving wet laundry in the washer, not wiping dust off furniture, leaving sand on the floor, etc. They don't even understand that washer doors must be left open to avoid mold. They had the nerve to tell me that "putting dirty dishes into dishwasher is not their job" and that they "don't have time to run washers on full cycle". Instead, they want guests to do dishes and laundry before check-out, which is absurd when guests also pay a hefty cleaning fee. Besides being sloppy & incompetent at their job, they are exceptionally rude when you give them honest feedback.

Mayfield Painting Services just completed the exterior painting of my townhouse; they did a…read morefantastic job despite surprise rain showers that washed away their work on more than one occasion! As impressed as I am by the workmanship (at a great price), I was especially impressed by their attitude. The men who pressure washed, caulked, painted, and did trimwork on my house always went above and beyond with a smile and the utmost courtesy. There were little details like, "We noticed some rust on the door here, so I treated it; that should take care of it," and "Your wood door downstairs was taking some sun-damage so I put a coat of polyurethane on it to protect it. You should consider doing that annually." They didn't nickel-and-dime me for any of it, but treated me and my home with respect. That's something you just don't see on an invoice. And on the final day of the job, when I thanked Joey for his attention to detail, he said, "Well, I just try to paint every home as I'd want my own home painted." That's exactly what I wanted to hear - and what I saw.
