This company is amazing! The owner bends over backwards for his customers, even when they're awful to him. I recommend them to everyone!!

If you need a cost effective and timely job done, call Jeff Braswell! You will not regret it. They completed all our work in 3 weeks in spite of rain - and all while we occupied the house! They showed up, knocked it out, were considerate of our needs and made it happen within the budget. The quality of work and materials is excellent.

However, in 2018 I noticed a dip in the floor around the refrigerator. I made calls to companies who had originally done the foundation and insulation work, with no response. I reached out to several other contractors that worked in my area. They either did not show up or told me to just keep an eye on the problem. Then I got in touch with J&M Remodeling. One of the owners, Jeff Braswell, came to review the issues. Jeff was very professional from the start. After a thorough assessment he had some not so good news. The prior work that was done was only to cover up rotten foundation beams. Insulation was sprayed over rotten beams. I had paid to just have problems covered up not repaired. It was an expensive lesson, but I feel so fortunate to have found Jeff and his team do the repairs. The floor and foundation had to be replaced. Once they started, they found several other issues that he suggested we take care of before they would become a problem, which I agreed. Walls and studs needed to be replaced. Their knowledge, professionalism and craftsmanship amazed me. But it was more than that, that impressed me. They all went out of their way and added special touches to put this project over the top. They moved light switches to more convenient heights, they painted areas of the house they didn't even work in to make sure everything matched and blended in. Everything was seamless. My house was cleaner after they finished that it ever was before the remodel. As a senior citizen, I need people and companies I can rely upon. I feel as if that is what I found in J&M Remodeling. They went above and beyond our contract requirements. Jeff's experience made him the perfect selection. I am comforted to know there is a company I can rely upon. Janis

First, I can only speak about my experience dealing with Black & White Roofing. Unfortunately it…read morewas not as good as it seems others had experienced. I am willing to talk to anyone about my experience and I can send pictures or you're welcome to come see the quality of work for yourself. Due to google space or typed characters restrictions, I can not say as much as I would like so this review is limited. Joe McDevitt did put a lien on my house in lieu of trying to resolve the differences after I had expressed my issues and concerns after receiving final invoice. I have full email exchange that can be shared. This review is being posted after the lien issue had been resolved. Issues with quality of work. Here are a few items: - Siding was damaged and Joe McDevitt did not fix it or offer to fix it. - Leaf guard for the guttering was removed and Joe McDevitt did not replace it or offer to replace it. - A 20' +/- walk way that they re-decked but didn't use pressure tread lumber in parts and slats bounce. - In some areas of the Bitumen (Rolled material for low slope roofs) the workmen created some areas of surface damage / scuff marks. - The trim pieces between siding and roof were attached using the yellow colored Decking screws. The screws were not set flush to the wood and protrude about 3/16" high which makes painting ugly and is just visually ugly. - The caulking applied on the trim looks very unprofessional. - They left a small (about 2' vertical area) of exposed facia left (see picture) - The Bitumen roofing material is not overlayed properly on the downhill slope in a couple of places. - The solution to "Extend the Roof" has it's issues too. Issues with billing invoice amounts. To help support some of my next comments, you may go to the Missouri case net website and look up case number 25CM-ML00022. Now, as a contractor to add a little to the billing that a sub-contractor charges is common practice but, let's see if you think the couple of items I will outline here are reasonable in your opinion? There are others items of interest but the 2 below are the most note worthy. One of the thing interests is that the 'Markup' was wide spread in regards to different items of work that the sub-contractor charged and what Joe McDevitt charged me... Meaning 30% for this 40% for that, 500% for something else. - Invoice from Rangel Roofing for "Reframing" (2nd form the bottom in Exhibit D first page) Charge to Black & White $600.00. Black & White Charge to me $3200.00 marked only as "Framing" (4th from the bottom in Exhibit E). What work was actually done you may be asking? There was 24 +/- feet of the sub-facia board replace with I believe 2X10 treated material. THAT IS IT! None of the rafters were replaced or any other noticeable work done. And for context, the 'Bad Shape' is a reference to the facia board being rotten due to water damage. The Rafters seemed OK as I saw the workers walking across them before any work had been done and in pictures you can still see parts of the insolation attached to the original boards. Hence, not replaced. - In Exhibit D (2nd from the Bottom,) "Prep & extend roof to concrete." This work was done by a "Commercial" roofer and there isn't a billing item from them in the case filed on Exhibit D so I don't know what was charged to Black & White roofing. But, I was charged $3000.00. What work was done for that $3000.00? The work area was about 50' X 2'... 1) Power washing for cleaning of the concrete. 2) A "Sealant" was rolled out over the concrete. 3) Some type of flat roofing material (Might be Soperma) was rolled out on top of the sealant of the concrete and tucked up under the Bitumen at roofs edge that hung over the facia board. They original had a drip edge but that was removed when the Soperma was installed. 4) A roofing tar was applied to the edge of the rolled flat roofing material. Again, there are other items of interest that can be compared between Exhibits D and E. I've posted a few images but there are more. Thanks for reading.
