I love Scheels and wished there was one in my own state. So when I travel to other states, I always…read morelike to see if there is one in the state I am visiting. This location is in the same plaza as Ross and Boot Barn, with plenty of parking. Scheels in general is a dog friendly store, so I visited this store with my little girl dog and my husband. We were greeted by a few friendly employees when we entered the store. This store is a little smaller than some of the other locations that I have been to, as it did not have a ferris wheel in the middle of the store, but they do have a cafe that sells coffee and tasty sweets. There is also a bowling alley, which cost only $1 for 5 frames. My husband and I ended up playing a round each while we visited. Our visit was fun and pleasant. We enjoyed browsing the store after playing a short round of bowling. If I lived in the area, it is most likely that I would be a regular.

Ordered a shotgun online. Last one left in U.S. at the time, so it shipped to the Rapid City store…read more E-mail said, "Come pick it up !" So, 1st trip to store... the fudds told me they couldn't sell it to me because I was an out-of-state resident. Another guy came over and said, "They're wrong ! I'll write you up, and the 3 days' shipping count as your 3-day wait." But, alas, I forgot some of my stuff, so... 2nd time in, I had all my stuff, spent over an hour filling out forms, only to hear, "3-day wait on this !" Okay, no problem but... confused... I'm standing around, and then another fudd comes out of the back and said, "Can't sell this to you because you have been in the state more than 90 days !" WHAT ? I demanded a refund, paid off my CLUB CARD, and went to Scheel's, where I bought a better gun, with zero hassle/ side-eye from clueless fudds. But, you know what ? Bass Pro Shop doesn't care, because they are the Walmart of the sporting goods world, and have the identical philosophy toward their customers. Bass Pro Rapid City will not get another cent from me.
