We spent nearly two whole hours here going booth by booth looking at the endless treasures this on this place has. Easy to navigate layout, this store has a mix of many antiques on the inside as well as the outside. The restroom is on one end of the building and they got cool stuff worth selling in there too. A few booths are empty and some of them are overpriced but I would highly suggest stopping here if you're in the area.

Located diagonally from my office building in Crown Point, I've watched the traffic going in and…read moreout while going through McDonald's (right across the street). They repurposed an old tire (or car repair ) business and really did a beautiful job. I'll preface by saying - I am Not an "antiques person" - by far. My better half is though and he loves this shop. Several aisles of booths - all nicely arranged. The front seems to be more of a newer gifts area (thank you from me :) ) We've bought several things and he has asked me go back and get something he spotted afterwards. I will say - even though I am not into antques - I spotted an ultra cool mermaid lamp when we were there. Someone else evidently liked it too as it was gone the next day when I went back - so don't hesitate to buy if you see something you like. I also bought a newer three world globe piece for my office when we were there. They wrap items purchased really well and the staff has been just lovely. If you live in town or are coming from a distance - I will urge you to stop by. This is a nice hidden gem in Crown Point. Glad to see an old building repurposed so nicely. Our fine city of Crown Point demolished some older homes behind this business so if you go around the block, you'll find a generrous parking area as parking in front on Main Street fills in fast.

There's aquamarine and opal earrings, peridot and garnet bracelets, diamond and pearl necklaces, emerald and ruby bands...you'll be in awe by the selection inside the long glass cases. I began going as a kid, tagging along with my dad when he would buy my mom piece of jewelry for a special occasion. I loved accompanying him and having a say in what he should get her. The last few years I've gone on my own, spending many hours trying on diamond engagement rings and wedding sets. Sue, the owner, has always been gracious (and patient) in letting me wear and admire ring after ring. Some of her rings have a good story behind them, and I always enjoy hearing where certain pieces came from, their style, etc. (Fun fact: her oldest ring is over 200 years old!) Last December, I FINALLY bought a ring from Paraphernalia, which I like to refer to as my "back up engagement ring". The antique engagement ring--dating back to the 1890s--has a row of five stones of mine-cut diamonds and alternating sapphires. It's simple, it's elegant, and--most importantly--it's from an antique from a shop I cherish. For those of you looking for a piece of jewelry, I encourage you to pay a visit to Paraphernalia before walking into any other jewelry store. Once you see all that glistens and sparkles inside Sue's glass cases, you're going to want to stay awhile and try on all of them.
