7 years ago my husband got our son's birthstone in a ring from Mother's Family Rings for me: alexandrite (June). I had no idea how rare and difficult it was to get alexandrite until our daughter was born, also in June. They can custom make or order anything from their catalogs for you to see (no charge and usually within a couple days). I purchased an engagement ring and both our wedding bands here. The staff is amazing! Customer satisfaction is definitely their top priority. They take the time to show you all kinds of settings and stones as well as helping you narrow your selection and guide you as you browse the seemingly endless array of semiprecious and precious gems they carry. Because they do the repairs on site, I was able to get my ring back in 5 days instead of the 7 days as promised. Exceptional customer service! Moriarty's is great. I have been there multiple times and it's been very successful each time. First I got a beautiful tanzanite stone set in my boyfriends grandmothers ring setting, which is now my promise ring. Then I got a diamond ring from the estate jewelry case for a great price, which I LOVE and wear daily. When my grandmother died I went there with the ruby necklace I inherited, which I would've lost the stone to because the setting was cracked and I couldn't see it because it was so small, so they fixed that. Then I ended up smashing my diamond ring I loved, so they fixed that and you can't even tell it was basically smashed in half (did this with granite, it ended up saving my finger). And then lastly I just got my grandpas ruby, which I inherited also, set in a ring which Steve and I picked out together. This place goes above and beyond with making sure you're happy and satisfied. Please beware of buying from these people, especially online at one of their websites: MothersFamilyRings.com and TanzaniteJewelryDesigns.com. They espouse exceptional quality and great customer service on these websites. However, it is all just a bunch of hot air. I recently purchased a Mother's ring this month for my wife, consisting of 5 stones for each of our children. I received it the day after Mother's day, because they were too cheap to send it NDA through UPS or FedEx. They sent it by the USPS, 2 day air, on Thursday. The post office didn't even make an attempt on Saturday to deliver it. I stayed home all day waiting on it. I called the Post Office and Moriarty's around 1:30 pm, trying to track it down. Nancy Moriarty, the owner, told me she would call the Post Office and find out what was going on, and definitely get back with me. I waited and waited, and never heard back from her. I called again around 2:30 pm and she had already gone for the day. The lady who answered, put Steve, the owner, on the line. When he answered, the first words out of his mouth were, "I don't know what you think I can do for you?". Rude and unbecoming of such a "world traveler", don't you think. I explained to him, that had he sent it NDA, I would have had an extra day to counteract such a mishap. He told me there was nothing he could do for me. So much for that superior customer service. I knew right then, that I was just another number and dollar sign. My wife, finally did get it on Monday. It was a decent Mother's ring. Nothing outstanding, though. I took it to a local jewelry store, and they said that it was a little better quality than one of your chain jewelry stores, but nothing exceptional. Lesson learned. Don't trust these people to provide you an outstanding piece of jewelry or exceptional customer service for a loved one. Please look elsewhere and be an informed consumer.
