We had a couple of jobs with this company. We were pretty happy with the first two jobs Which included a partial bathroom remodel and texturing walls. I did not like that they didn't lay down A drop cloth for the texturing or wear booties and I did have a bit of a dusty mess to mop up but I figured that a small price to pay for The promptness of the work they did. Later I was told by the primary contractor that he felt we had taken advantage of because when they went to do the work we showed him a room to texture that "was never discussed" prior to the contract. We did show him all of the areas and even discussed having a little more work done on one room we did ourselves that wasn't the best and talked about fixing that, but changed our minds, so it was actually less than initially intended. Sorry you didn't remember all the work that was requested Sir , but maybe it's your memory, or next time write a better contract that specifies the areas you intend to do and we would have corrected it if it was not what we had wanted. The contract we realized was so vague it could have been easily argued they did not know about it. Ok but then he was irritated that we wanted it done and he didn't apparently know that and hadn't figured it into the contract. We had no idea so if he had said "I didn't know of or I didn't remember about this room, and I need to add it into the contract." we would have been understanding. Instead he said he did the work anyway so we wouldnt "argue about it" and then complained and insulted me. But that was after we had hired them to do a remodel on a patio. I met Him myself because it was kind of my project and I said I want the rotten boards replaced. Doesn't have to be the whole board that was fine. Need a safer deck design because I was worried the kids could go over the rail. I did point out some Of the rotten wood, not realizing that he would not actually check himself for the wood that needed to be replaced and that I should have showed him each and every rotten board specifically! So he had his guys only replace the 2 of 5 boards that were rotten. They made a new deck balcony but attached it to rotten Wood (I had no idea because I couldn't see it at the base) so it was very wiggly and unsafe. i told my s/o about it so he could get ahold of them and get it fixed. when he told the main contractor about it I'm sure he was upset but not inappropriately so. he did say can you come look at this it's been left in an unacceptable condition which may have offended the guy, but it was true. if the main guy Rick would have said "I will come out. I will see what I can do. I'm sorry that happened." we would have been happy to continue going through their company for the numerous jobs we need done on our house. Instead he asked for more money.. which we paid them before the job was even done because they still had to pick up the debris- more on that later, and even early at his request. maybe My S/O asked why? But instead Of telling him (what he ended up telling me later was just a little bit more for supplies) he hung up on my S/O. I ended up asking what was up and getting them to come out to fix 2 more of the 3 boards (that I know of) that are rotten, and reinforce the rail, but I still dont Think it's safe. He insulted me when I asked exactly what the extra money was for by saying we were taking advantage of them, and I said no I just want a safe deck. The contract I now realize should have been more specific because it lead to misunderstandings between us. It said they would fix the rotten wood on the deck which to me means what ever you find that is rotten not just the ones I pointed out. It said the job would be done to Our liking but then we got so much crap when we said uh this will not work. we did not write that into the contract they did. I know my S/o was going to have them also install a sliding glass door which he did not mean as part of the original contract, but meant could they do it roughly the same time and we would have paid for the extra supplies and labor. Due to their lack of communication they just thought maybe that my s/o was trying to sneak that in as well. I don't know but he was mad about that, and I said don't worry when the deck is done our business with you is complete. So they unfortunately lost a customer. They left a huge mess in our yard for an extra week (I wasn't too concerned about it as long as it was taken care of) but they were avoiding contact with us at that Point which was upsetting. i could go on but I will just say they need a big lesson in customer service. we will not go through them again. I know some customers are more difficult than others, and My S/o was pretty upset with how he was treated and got irritable with his responses, but I think that could have been avoided If they had been respectful and helpful when the issue was first brought up. read more
